AFAICS, the bug in jackrec is still present in jack1 (but fixed in
jack2). But since I don't use jackrec anymore, I didn't test it.

The new one (#590021), I hope.

Hi!
Thanks for your report!
I'll look at this tomorrow and fix the cmake script, if possible.
Otherwise I will apply your patch (which indeed fixes the problem, but does
not follow the usual cmake-way)

The firefox fallback is useful on Ubuntu systems. As it is harmless in
debian, I suggest keeping it to avoid Ubuntu/Debian diffs.

All these three look like problems with the buildd host/toolchain.
CSound hangs in a doxygen call that has not been modified since the -1
upload. Trying to build that same documentation in paer gives me
segmentation faults in doxygen in different stages almost every time (I
managed to build it after a few retries). The paer sid chroot does not
have the necessary build deps, so I can't binNMU it myself.
slv2 hangs in a file copy operation, apparently. Adrian Knoth already
commented on the ardour bug. Should we schedule retries?

Bug#591011: libprojectm-dev: Incorrect .pc files

2010-07-30 Thread Christophe Mutricy
Package: libprojectm-dev
Version: 2.0.1+dfsg-2
Severity: important
Tags: patch

Hello,

The .pc.in of projectm use a variable which doesn't exist resulting in a empty
libdir. That results in a buggy "-L" in LDFLAGS.

Attached patch forces libdir=${exec_prefix}/lib . It's not necessarly the best
fix but I don't know CMake enough.

I can commit the patch myself if you like though I'll be away from Internet
from Monday.

I hope the transition will be finished soon. Debian Edu is badly
affected by it, as we want both jackd, hydrogen and lmms installed.
At the moment in unstable, d-i/tasksel/aptitude is unable to install
jackd. apt-get on the other hand is able to install it, as it pull in
jackd1 instead of jackd2.

I've not reported a bug on this, as I assumed it would be fixed when
the transition is done, but please let me know if I should.

Happy hacking,

As I've already supposed, it must be something with the buildd or just
coincidence.

It has been working before and there are no changes (in the ardour
package or source code) that would cause a FTBFS.

I throw it into my own frehsly updated pbuilder on my sparc machine and
successfully built the package:

dpkg-deb: building package `ardour' in `../ardour_2.8.11-1_sparc.deb'.
 dpkg-genchanges >../ardour_2.8.11-1_sparc.changes
dpkg-genchanges: including full source code in upload
 dpkg-source --after-build ardour-2.8.11
dpkg-buildpackage: full upload (original source is included)
Copying back the cached apt archive contents
 -> unmounting dev/pts filesystem
 -> unmounting proc filesystem
 -> cleaning the build env
-> removing directory /var/cache/pbuilder/build//3754 and its
subdirectories
Current time: Fri Jul 30 21:38:13 CEST 2010
pbuilder-time-stamp: 1280518693

Do you want me to send you the deb? Or is there a way to start the build
process on the official sparc machine again?

If need be, I could upload 2.8.11-2 with no changes, just built on my
machine, to make sure to have a working sparc package.

On the subject of those binNMUs, they should now all have been
scheduled.

Looking at unstable and ignoring packages which have built successfully
and are simply missing uploads, the remaining packages depending on just
libjack0 are:

- ardour: FTBFS on sparc (#590863)
- csound: FTBFS on hppa (#590948)
- gnuradio: FTBFS everywhere (#573759) and not in testing
- hydrogen: FTBFS on several architectures (#574719)
- lmms: Unbuildable due to dependency on libwine-dev (#590950)
- slv2: FTBFS on hppa (#590976)
- wine-unstable: FTBFS on powerpc; not in testing

Testing is similar but also includes:

- aqualung, moc, qmmp, xine-lib, xmms2: waiting for libmodplug
- freej: waiting for opencv, which started an uncoordinated transition
and FTBFS on hppa
- idjc: 3/10 days old
- mpd: 8/10 days old
- qtractor: 6/10 days old
- seq24: 7/10 days old

Adam

2010-07-30 Thread Adam D. Barratt
Package: slv2

Hi,

slv2 FTFBS when binNMUed for the jackd-defaults transition; from the
build log:

[19/25] copy: doc/reference.doxygen.in -> build/default/doc/reference.doxygen
make: *** wait: No child processes. Stop.

make[1]: *** [override_dh_auto_build] Terminated
Build killed with signal TERM after 300 minutes of inactivity

Full logs available via
https://buildd.debian.org/status/package.php?p=slv2

I noticed that the package uses waf to build so the patches applied to
packages such as xiphos may be of interest (see e.g. #582904).

Package: jackd
Version: 1.9.5~dfsg-13
Severity: important
Tags: squeeze upstream

Hi,

it's great so see such efforts being put into the debian jackd package,
but unfortunately the upgrade to jack2 (1.9.5) in testing renders the
package unusable to me. This is caused by an upstream bug which has been
there for a long time (well, offcially I only reported it 3 days ago...).
Jack2 crashes with my 2 M-Audio Delta1010LTs but works flawlessly with jack1.

My official bug report:
http://trac.jackaudio.org/ticket/173

Maybe it only effects me, put I will have to put the jack1 package on hold
until this is fixed upstream. If someone else experiences this I'd be
greatful for a reply, since even Stephane Letz couldn't figure out what's
wrong as he can't reproduce the bug.

Best
Benjamin

Hi!

I'm closing this bug now. Reasons:

   1. It's been forwarded to upstream and hence no longer Debian
  specific.

   2. If need be, you could use the jackd1 package.

   3. Basically, what you're trying to do is not within "normal mode" of
operation. Using multiple unsynced cards via an ALSA combi device
  is asking for trouble.

   4. There's alsa_in/alsa_out to do it properly.

so frei0r-plugins has not been removed, but is currently
uninstallable. This is most likely a transient problem in unstable. Use
testing to avoid this issue.
