Thanks for maintaining audacious: version 2.3-2, which has recently migrated into testing, fixes many issues!:-) I noticed a regression, though. As discussed in bug #500081, I set Time Remaining for the timer. When playing an Internet radio stream, audacious used to show the elapsed time, regardless of the timer mode setting, since the remaining time cannot be computed for a stream (which is virtually never-ending). With version 2.3-2, this behavior changed. Now, with the timer set to Time Remaining, audacious shows meaningless timer values (such as --4:-0, --2:-3, and similar) while playing Internet radio streams. Please restore the previous behavior, that is to say: * when playing streams, always show the elapsed time * when playing local audio files, show the remaining time or the elapsed time, depending on the user configuration (timer_mode). -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (800, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-3-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages audacious-plugins depends on: ii libasound2 1.0.22-2 shared library for ALSA applicatio ii libatk1.0-0 1.30.0-1 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libaudcore1 2.3-2audacious core engine library ii libaudid3tag2 2.3-2audacious id3 tag manipulation lib ii libavcodec524:0.5.1-3ffmpeg codec library ii libavformat52 4:0.5.1-3ffmpeg file format library ii libavutil49 4:0.5.1-3ffmpeg utility library ii libbinio1ldbl 1.4-14 Binary I/O stream class library ii libc6 2.10.2-9 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libcairo2 1.8.10-4 The Cairo 2D vector graphics libra ii libcddb21.2.1-1 library to access CDDB data - runt ii libcdio-cdda0 0.81-4 library to read and control digita ii libcdio10 0.81-4 library to read and control CD-ROM ii libcue1 1.4.0-1 CUE Sheet Parser Library ii libdbus-1-3 1.2.24-1 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libdbus-glib-1-20.86-1 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libesd0 0.2.41-7 Enlightened Sound Daemon - Shared ii libfaad22.7-4freeware Advanced Audio Decoder - ii libflac81.2.1-2+b1 Free Lossless Audio Codec - runtim ii libfluidsynth1 1.1.1-4 Real-time MIDI software synthesize ii libfontconfig1 2.8.0-2.1generic font configuration library ii libfreetype62.3.11-1 FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libgcc1 1:4.4.4-1GCC support library ii libglib2.0-02.24.1-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgtk2.0-0 2.20.1-1 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libjack01.9.5~dfsg-13JACK Audio Connection Kit (librari ii liblircclient0 0.8.3-5 infra-red remote control support - ii libmad0 0.15.1b-5MPEG audio decoder library ii libmcs1 0.7.1-1 Abstraction library to store confi ii libmms0 0.4-2MMS stream protocol library - shar ii libmowgli1 0.6.1-1 a high performance development fra ii libmtp8 1.0.2-3 Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) libr ii libneon27-gnutls0.29.3-2 An HTTP and WebDAV client library ii libogg0 1.2.0~dfsg-1 Ogg bitstream library ii libpango1.0-0 1.28.0-1 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libpulse0 0.9.21-1 PulseAudio client libraries ii

Bug#608391: vlc looks for VAAPI libraries in wrong directory
Package: vlc Version: 1.1.5-3 Severity: normal Thanks for enabling VAAPI support in VLC debian package. It works, but not out of the box for me. Not sure if it is VLC or xvba-va-driver package error though. I use ATI fglrx and it provides fglrx_drv_video.so library as part of Debian package xvba-va-driver package. It is unpacked to: /usr/lib/va/drivers/fglrx_drv_video.so However when I enable hardware video acceleration support in VLS it tries to looks for this library in /usr/lib/dri/fglrx_drv_video.so that is not where it is in Debian. I had to do ln -s /usr/lib/va/drivers/fglrx_drv_video.so /usr/lib/dri/fglrx_drv_video.so to make the acceleration work. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (650, 'testing'), (600, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.36-trunk-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages vlc depends on: ii libaa1 1.4p5-38ascii art library ii libavcodec52 5:0.6.1+svn20101128-0.1 library to encode decode multimedi ii libavutil50 5:0.6.1+svn20101128-0.1 avutil shared libraries - runtime ii libc62.11.2-7Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libfreetype6 2.4.2-2.1 FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libfribidi0 0.19.2-1Free Implementation of the Unicode ii libgcc1 1:4.4.5-8 GCC support library ii libgl1-mesa-glx 7.7.1-4 A free implementation of the OpenG ii libqtcore4 4:4.6.3-4 Qt 4 core module ii libqtgui44:4.6.3-4 Qt 4 GUI module ii libsdl-image1.2 1.2.10-2+b2 image loading library for Simple D ii libsdl1.2debian 1.2.14-6.1 Simple DirectMedia Layer ii libstdc++6 4.4.5-8 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libtar 1.2.11-6C library for manipulating tar arc ii libva-x11-1 1.0.4-1 Video Acceleration (VA) API for Li ii libva1 1.0.4-1 Video Acceleration (VA) API for Li ii libvlccore4 1.1.5-3 base library for VLC and its modul ii libx11-6 2:1.3.3-4 X11 client-side library ii libx11-xcb1 2:1.3.3-4 Xlib/XCB interface library ii libxcb-keysyms1 0.3.6-1 utility libraries for X C Binding ii libxcb-randr01.6-1 X C Binding, randr extension ii libxcb-shm0 1.6-1 X C Binding, shm extension ii libxcb-xv0 1.7-1 X C Binding, xv extension ii libxcb1 1.7-1 X C Binding ii libxext6 2:1.1.2-1 X11 miscellaneous extension librar ii libxpm4 1:3.5.8-1 X11 pixmap library ii ttf-freefont 20090104-7 Freefont Serif, Sans and Mono True ii vlc-nox 1.1.5-3 multimedia player and streamer (wi ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.4.dfsg-3compression library - runtime Versions of packages vlc recommends: ii vlc-plugin-notify1.1.5-3 LibNotify plugin for VLC ii vlc-plugin-pulse 1.1.5-3 PulseAudio plugin for VLC ii xdg-utils1.0.2+cvs20100307-2 desktop integration utilities from Versions of packages vlc suggests: pn mozilla-plugin-vlcnone (no description available) pn videolan-doc none (no description available) Versions of packages vlc-nox depends on: ii liba52-0.7.4 0.7.4-14library for decoding ATSC A/52 str ii libasound2 1.0.23-2.1 shared library for ALSA applicatio ii libass4 0.9.9-1 library for SSA/ASS subtitles rend ii libavahi-client3 0.6.27-2Avahi client library ii libavahi-common3 0.6.27-2Avahi common library ii libavc1394-0 0.5.3-1+b2 control IEEE 1394 audio/video devi ii libavcodec52 5:0.6.1+svn20101128-0.1 library to encode decode multimedi ii libavformat525:0.6.1+svn20101128-0.1 ffmpeg file format library ii libavutil50 5:0.6.1+svn20101128-0.1 avutil shared libraries - runtime ii libc62.11.2-7Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libcaca0 0.99.beta17-1 colour ASCII art library ii libcddb2 1.3.2-2 library to access CDDB data - runt ii libcdio100.81-4 library to read and control CD-ROM ii libdbus-1-3 1.2.24-4simple interprocess messaging syst ii libdc1394-22 2.1.2-3 high level programming interface f ii libdca0 0.0.5-3 decoding library for DTS Coherent ii libdirac-encoder 1.0.2-3 open and royalty free high quality ii libdvbpsi6

If you disagree about the use of debian/control.in, we should disable it. If not, we should use it. But having it and not using it does not seem a sane option. I suggest we only drop the control.in if noone use the .in file or it annoys someone. I see no big problem in some of us editing the control file directly - the nuissence of sync'ing changes there to the .in file is shadowed by the benefit of dependency semi-autoresolving IMO. (please do edit the .in file rather than the control file if you want to help minimize work for everyone, though) Ok, I hope its alright with everyone, I removed the control.in. I can see using automatic build-depends generation on a package with complex Build-Depends, but this one is really simple, and I think the Build-Depends will rarely change, if ever. From my experience, build products should not be in git (i.e. the 'control' file generated using 'control.in'). Since that doesn't seem possible for 'control', I think we'll be better off by simplifying to a static 'control'. .hc ___ pkg-multimedia-maintainers mailing list pkg-multimedia-maintainers@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/mailman/listinfo/pkg-multimedia-maintainers
