openmovieeditor override disparity

2011-02-25 Thread Debian FTP Masters
There are disparities between your recently accepted upload and the
override file for the following file(s):

openmovieeditor_0.0.20090105-1_i386.deb: package says section is graphics,
override says video.

Please note that a list of new sections were recently added to the
archive: cli-mono, database, debug, fonts, gnu-r, gnustep, haskell,
httpd, java, kernel, lisp, localization, ocaml, php, ruby, vcs, video,
xfce, zope. At this time a script was used to reclassify packages into
these sections. If this is the case, please only reply to this email if
the new section is inappropriate, otherwise please update your package
at the next upload.

Either the package or the override file is incorrect. If you think
the override is correct and the package wrong please fix the package
so that this disparity is fixed in the next upload. If you feel the
override is incorrect then please file a bug against ftp.debian.org and
explain why. Please INCLUDE the list of packages as seen above, or we
won't be able to deal with your request due to missing information.

Please make sure that the subject of the bug you file follows the
following format:

Subject: override: BINARY1:section/priority, [...], BINARYX:section/priority

Include the justification for the change in the body of the mail please.

[NB: this is an automatically generated mail; if you already filed a bug
and have not received a response yet, please ignore this mail. Your bug
needs to be processed by a human and will be in due course, but until
then the installer will send these automated mails; sorry.]

ffmpeg has changed the meaning of certain parameters for the function
avcodec_decode_audio2. In particular data_size must be initialized to
the size of the buffer.

I updated the 04_ffmpeg_headers.dpatch to initialize correctly this
parameter.

With this update, I get back the audio in the result (i.e. movie
rendered). I still have no sound in openmovieeditor however.

For those who will read this bug report and expect to have sound back
into the editor itself, consider using openmovieeditor dev. version. The
viewer now use gmerlin-avdec and is excellent (video and audio are
perfect). So don't waste time to try to solve the no sound in editor,
jump to not-yet shipped gmerlin-avdec package and build openmovieeditor
using dev darcs repository (works nice as of today 2009/09/04).

Sylvain Le Gall

adding libraries in LDFLAGS is an interesting idea.

maybe a better patch would be to add these in LDADD in the Makefile.am.

autoconf issues

2011-02-25 Thread Fabian Greffrath

Dear Xvid devs,

first, let me congratulate you to the 1.3.0 release.

However, I've found issues with your usage of autoconf in the
build/generic directory:

1) The files config.guess and config.sub in this directory are
*ancient* (they date back to 2003) and should really get replaced by
more current ones. They are available e.g. here:

http://savannah.gnu.org/projects/config

2a) The configure script has been created with an ancient version
(2.59) of autoconf, which also dates back to 2003. Please regenerate
it with a current version of autoconf.

2b) But then, the configure.in template for autoconf contains a syntax
error that makes the generated configure script generate faulty code.
Please find a simple patch attached or (in case it gets mangled) here:

http://git.debian.org/?p=pkg-multimedia/xvidcore.git;a=blob;f=debian/patches/configure.in-fix.patch

Best regards,
Fabian

no-exec-stack on elf32

2011-02-25 Thread Fabian Greffrath

Dear xvid devs,

the current Xvid source code still produces a shared library with an
executable stack when compiled with nasm on a 32-bit system. The
reason is that in the current implementation the output format is
checked for elf and elf64, whereas the 32-bit variant is called
elf32. The patch found here fixes this:

http://git.debian.org/?p=pkg-multimedia/xvidcore.git;a=blob;f=debian/patches/no-exec-stack-elf32.patch

elf is, however, a valid output format for nasm when used with the
-f parameter and serves as a shortcut for elf32. so maybe it makes
sense to add a separate check for elf32 instead of replacing the
check for elf, but that's up to you. ;)

Bug#436339: The bug is still there with 1.1.7-2

2011-02-25 Thread Hadrien DUSSUEL
I've tried today to update my VLC installation from Squeeze to 1.1.7-2
taken from the Sid Repository and the screensaver bug is still there.
I've put the screensaver launch time to 1min and started a film with
VLC, the screensaver quickly begin and shut the screen :S

The files i have updated to my squeeze are:
libgnutls26_2.10.4-2_amd64
libvlc5_1.1.7-2_amd64
libvlccore4_1.1.7-2_amd64
vlc_1.1.7-2_amd64
vlc-data_1.1.7-2_all
vlc-nox_1.1.7-2_amd64
vlc-plugin-notify_1.1.7-2_amd64
vlc-plugin-pulse_1.1.7-2_amd64

xdg-utils is, of course, installed, and never have fixed the problem on
any of my installations (the cards with proprietary drivers that can
reproduce the problem are: Nvidia 6200 / 7300LE and ATI HD3850 / HD2600M).

Can you re-open the bug please ?

Description     : A real time audio synthesis programming language

SuperCollider is an environment and programming language for real time
audio synthesis and algorithmic composition. It provides an interpreted
object-oriented language which functions as a network client
to a state of the art, realtime sound synthesis server.

OK, status of the supercollider packaging. Here's what I wrote on 4th
jan (re a patch to add versioning to the soname):

The patch is in, upstream. What's happening right now is we're
preparing a 3.4.2 release, which will include this patch. (release
 candidate files are at
 http://sourceforge.net/projects/supercollider/files/Source/3.4.2/)

The neatest thing is to wait for 3.4.2 official release, then import
it to the deb-mm repo and tweak the scripts for .so.1. Should be soon!

Since then, there's been some delay in supercolliderland due to
debating garbage-collection issues in the development branch. We can
either wait more, or apply the patch downstream, in which case it
would I think be ready for others to try? What's the next step once
 we're OK with the packaging?

Since the patch is already applied upstream, and we are likely to wait
a while before 3.4.2 is out, it should be OK to apply the patch
locally to 3.4.1 for now. Please do that, and update the packaging
 accordingly.

Bug#615140: libsoundtouch-dev: needs to provide libsoundtouch1-dev

2011-02-25 Thread Julien Cristau
Package: libsoundtouch-dev
Version: 1.5.0-3
Severity: serious
Justification: i said so

Apparently you decided to start a SONAME transition with no coordination
with the release team. This will clash with the ongoing transition to
ffmpeg 0.6, and delay things by that much. Please don't do this again.

Now that's out of the way...

You also renamed your -dev package from libsoundtouch1-dev to
libsoundtouch-dev, which means every reverse dependency not only needs
to be rebuilt, but needs sourceful changes. Unless the API is
completely different from the old version, that's not acceptable.
Please add 'Provides: libsoundtouch1-dev' to libsoundtouch-dev so we can
rebuild reverse dependencies.

Cheers,
Julien

FYI, it also affects the ongoing transition of OCaml libraries
(#613848), because liquidsoap (which must be recompiled) indirectly
depends on soundtouch and is therefore currently BD-Uninstallable.
