Gnome-mplayer supports vdpau. To enable vdpau, I have to go to the preferences - Player - Adjust Output Settings - Video Output, and select vdpau, and thus HD files can be played smoothly, and the cpu usage decreases from 90 to around 15 %. But each time I open a new HD file, the gnome-player seems to forget to enable vdpau, the file again be played very laggy, the cpu usage rose high over 90% again. Then I got to go back to preferences again, and everything is correct there, I mean the Video Output is still set to vdpau. And I just needed to press 'Close' button in the gnome-mplayer configuration, the file immediately being played smoothly again, and the cpu usage also lowered to around 15 %. It seems clear that the place for libav bug reports would be the libav bug tracker. It also seems clear libav is an ffmpeg fork, and ffmpeg is also alive as a project. Its certainly not the first time such a thing has happened in the world of free software. I think there should also be room for someone to package ffmpeg for Debian if they wanted to since it provides different things than libav. I see no reason for Debian policy to dictate that ffmpeg not be allowed in Debian, please illuminate me if you believe otherwise. I do fear that useful software (ffmpeg in this case) will be prevented from inclusion in Debian. .hc "A cellphone to me is just an opportunity to be irritated wherever you are." - Linus Torvalds ___ pkg-multimedia-maintainers mailing list pkg-multimedia-maintainers@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-multimedia-maintainers

Bug#655317: Removed package(s) from unstable
We believe that the bug you reported is now fixed; the following package(s) have been removed from unstable: yafaray-blender2.5-exporter | 0.1.2~beta2.2-1 | source, all --- Reason --- RoM; package renaming -- Note that the package(s) have simply been removed from the tag database and may (or may not) still be in the pool; this is not a bug. The package(s) will be physically removed automatically when no suite references them (and in the case of source, when no binary references it). Please also remember that the changes have been done on the master archive (ftp-master.debian.org) and will not propagate to any mirrors (ftp.debian.org included) until the next cron.daily run at the earliest. Packages are usually not removed from testing by hand. Testing tracks unstable and will automatically remove packages which were removed from unstable when removing them from testing causes no dependency problems. The release team can force a removal from testing if it is really needed, please contact them if this should be the case. We try to close Bugs which have been reported against this package automatically. But please check all old bugs, if they where closed correctly or should have been re-assign to another package. Thank you for reporting the bug, which will now be closed. If you have further comments please address them to 655...@bugs.debian.org. The full log for this bug can be viewed at http://bugs.debian.org/655317 This message was generated automatically; if you believe that there is a problem with it please contact the archive administrators by mailing ftpmas...@debian.org.
