Bug#673793: mpd-sima: installation creates $HOME and directories in $HOME
Package: mpd-sima Version: 0.9.2-1 Severity: important User: debian...@lists.debian.org Usertags: piuparts Hi, during a test with piuparts I noticed your package left unowned directories on the system after purge, which is a violation of policy 6.8: http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-maintainerscripts.html#s-removedetails Filing this as important as having a piuparts clean archive is a release goal since lenny. If the package would ship this as an empty directory, dpkg would take care of the creation and removal. From the attached log (scroll to the bottom...): 0m34.9s ERROR: FAIL: Package purging left files on system: /local/not owned /local/piuparts/ not owned /local/piuparts/piupartss/ not owned /local/piuparts/piupartss/.config/ not owned /local/piuparts/piupartss/.config/mpd_sima/not owned HOME is set to /local/piuparts/piupartss, but the installation is done via 'sudo chroot ...' as root, so the $HOME does not exist. Bug#673811: needs porting for indicate-0.7 support
Source: guayadeque Version: 0.3.5~ds0-3 Severity: important Tags: patch Hi, with the recent upload of libindicate to unstable [1], your package will build without indicator support due to the bumped libindicate API (reflected in the pkg-config name). I am sorry to give such short/late notice, but the release team catched me pretty unprepared with their trnaisiton NOW or after wheezy mail. (So blame me and give the nice RT guys some beer/coffee ;-)) As your package already has a patch for the last API bump, I just attach a slightly modified version of it that will work with indicate-0.7. It should be properly renamed etc :) As the new library is binary compatible with the old one, your package does not need a rebuild and should still work and thus does not hold back the transition. I still would love to see the patch in unstable soon. For that I plan to prepare a NMU and upload it to DELAYED/5 either tomorrow or the day after, if there are no objections from your side. Bug#659856: mp4v2: Please bring back metadata API
Hi Jeremy, Hi, mp4v2 maintainer here. I am not the mp4v2 maintainer in Debian, I just posted this feature request. For what's it's worth, this API was marked as deprecated in both 1.9.0 and 1.9.1, which was years ago (see http://mp4v2.googlecode.com/svn/doc/1.9.0/api/modules.html - these have been deprecated for nearly three years). I'm not sure why r479 is being packaged since it's a developer release, but I am It was recommended on the mp4v2 project homepage at that time. planning on officially releasing 2.0 this week. I put off on releasing for so long for precisely reasons like this: I'd hoped projects like faac would update to use the newer metadata APIs, since I'd rather not support two adjacent APIs moving forward (note that the newer API is available in both 1.9.0 and 1.9.1). FAAC has added support for the new API in the not-yet-released development version in CVS, thanks to the work of Sebastien Noel et al. If it's going to be onerous for a lot of projects, then I could be swayed towards re-adding them. FWIW, the APIs may have been deprecated for years, but as long as there are no release in that time, noone will notice. Just my 2 cents. Because of lack of dirac samples, I didn't test that. Nevertheless, the vlc backport seems to work for me in a chroot, but feedback is welcome, espc. if someone has reservations about uploading it to squeeze-backports proper. It seems that a couple of folks did download these packages, but I haven't received any feedback on them. I've tested these packages in a chroot and I was able to play a couple of media files here, but I'd appreciate wider testing. (new) libpugl-0-0_0~svn32+dfsg0-1_amd64.deb optional libs portable API for OpenGL graphical interfaces Pugl is a minimal portable API for OpenGL GUIs which supports embedding and is suitable for use in plugins, but can also be used for programs. . Pugl is vaguely similar to GLUT, but with some significant distinctions: * Minimal in scope, providing only what is necessary to draw and receive keyboard and mouse input. * No reliance on static data whatsoever, so the API can be used in plugins or multiple independent parts of a program. * Single implementation, which is small, liberally licensed and suitable for direct inclusion in programs if avoiding a library dependency is desired. * Support for embedding in other windows, so Pugl code can draw to a widget inside a larger GUI. * More complete support for keyboard input, including additional “special” keys, modifiers, and support for detecting individual modifier key presses. Package: mplayer Version: 2:1.0~rc4.dfsg1+svn34540-1+b2 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, MPlayer doesn't work with -ao pulse on my system. I've tried killing the pulseaudio daemon and letting mplayer try to invoke it, I've tried explicitly starting the pulseaudio daemon right before launching mplayer, and it still doesn't work. Which version of boost lib do you have installed? I think I need to change the requirement (to =1.48 not =1.43, and a couple of libs I missed off the list). My fault, sorry - I've bumped up the dependency and pushed this now. I'll try later tonight, but I tried building in an up-to-date sid box. If I still can't get it to build I'll try to find out what is happening. Now its building.
