Bug#658075: blender: cycles addon missing script files
Hi! On Fri, May 25, 2012 at 09:21:54PM -0300, cristian machado wrote: Hi, i install the .deb pakage over the actual package of blender, but i have the same error, missing script file. Gosh, you're right! There are some problems with path here. For this test, if you do: # cp -av /usr/share/blender/2.63/scripts/addons/cycles \ /usr/lib/blender/scripts/addons as root or in sudo, you're copying the missing files in the right place and you should be allowed to enable Cycles Render in Blender. The problem is that (following the Debian Policy) all the scripts were placed under /usr/lib directory, but Cycles install path (being a new feature in Debian) was not updated yet. Sorry for the misleading installation. Cheers! -- Matteo F. Re: Bug#651142: desktopcouch 1.0.8 won't start (stacktrace)
Hi dmedia maintainers, background is #651142, where it was proposed to drop desktopcouch from Debian entirely. Last mail below: Jason Woofenden ja...@jasonwoof.com (07/12/2011): Firstly, David: thanks for the timely reply! I support the idea that desktopcouch should perhaps be removed from debian. I kept getting the feeling that I was the only one using desktopcouch on debian. I've just moved my databases over to the system-wide couchdb and uninstalled desktopcouch. While you're removing packages, should the ubuntu-sso-client be removed too? I don't know if it has a use besides making new-ish versions of desktopcouch work. Removing desktopcouch would mean breaking the dependency python-dmedia has on it. Can dmedia be adapted to drop it and still be functional? How about: faac compatibility library using vo-aacenc
Hi all, I am thinking about this idea for quite some time but never got as far as actually implementing it. Do you think it is possible / feasible to develop a library that provides the libfaac API but uses vo-aacenc for the actual encoding? This would help applications that unconditionally depend on libfaac, e.g. handbrake, to make it nito Debian until they are cleanly ported either directly to vo-aacenc or to only conditionally depend on libfaac. Is there anyone on this list who has experiences in this kind of compatibility APIs or a concrete idea of how an implementation could look like? For example, what to do if features of libfaac are requested that are not yet implemented by vo-aacenc, Warn or Abort? Please share your opinions and ideas!
