Bug#724488: audacious-plugins: scrobbler plugin not working: Peer certificate cannot be authenticated

2013-09-24 Thread Alberto Garcia
Package: audacious-plugins
Version: 3.4.1-1
Severity: normal
Tags: upstream

Looks like the Audacious scrobbler plugin is broken after some changes
in Last.fm:

scrobbler_communication.c:151 [send_message_to_lastfm]: Could not communicate
with last.fm: Peer certificate cannot be authenticated with given CA
certificates.
scrobbler_communication.c:169 [scrobbler_request_token]: Could not send token
request to last.fm.

Upstream bug: http://redmine.audacious-media-player.org/issues/343

The upstream bug tracker seems to be down, but it can be accessed
using the Google cache:

   it seems that the issue may be related with the order the
   certificates are sent by last.fm. OpenSSL seems to be more
   resilient to server (mis?)configurations. After checking if it
   really solves this issue, a strong dependency on OpenSSL to avoid
   compiling against GnuTLS may solve this.

Regards,

Berto

Bug#724526: ardour3: FTBFS on non-x86: xmmintrin.h: No such file or directory

2013-09-24 Thread Aaron M. Ucko
Source: ardour3
Version: 3.4~dfsg-2
Severity: important

Builds of ardour3 on non-x86 architectures have been failing because
they still try to use x86 SSE extensions:

  ../libs/ardour/sse_functions_xmm.cc:21:23: fatal error: xmmintrin.h: No such
file or directory

I see that these builds are still running with -DBUILD_SSE_OPTIMIZATIONS
for some reason; can you perhaps conditionalize this flag's use? (I'd
suggest doing without it and the corresponding -m* flags on i386 as well
to yield more portable binaries.) At any rate, please do take a look.

Thanks!

As you can see the part svf~ This is a signal-controlled port of Steve Harris'

And I am not sure that think tracker belongs there.

Hi,

I've encountered this problem when tried fix hardening too :(
Maybe we can try update waf-light from 1.6.11 (Feb 2012) to current 1.7.13,
but reading waf upstream changelog I can't find nothing related to this
issue.

waf build system using standard names for *FLAGS ... so there shouldn't
be problem

 For some reason this works for LDFLAGS but not CFLAGS or CXXFLAGS. Any
 ideas on why waf decides to ignore them? They are supposed to work...

 Hi,

 I've encountered this problem when tried fix hardening too :(
 Maybe we can try update waf-light from 1.6.11 (Feb 2012) to current 1.7.13,
 but reading waf upstream changelog I can't find nothing related to this
 issue.

 waf build system using standard names for *FLAGS ... so there shouldn't be
 problem
 http://code.google.com/p/waf/wiki/EnvironmentVariables

Yes, I read this page so I assumed it would work, but it doesn't...
Can you try updating the waf-light script and seeing if *FLAGS are
respected? Fortunately configure prints the *FLAGS so no need to build
the whole package to test if that works.

We should also disable the optimizations and enable them manually (it
is now ftbs everywhere). We need to set the --dist-target argument to
configure appropriately (x86_64 in amd64, i386 in i386 and none in the
rest, I think). Not sure if that is enough.

 Pass env variables to waf

Seems waf prefer those flags being spoonfed differently.

I suggest to use this (and cleanup related local code) in rules file:

  include /usr/share/cdbs/1/class/waf.mk

...or alternatively cherry-pick relevant bits from that file.

  DEB_MAKE_EXTRA_ARGS = -v --destdir=$(CURDIR)/debian/tmp
  DEB_MAKE_BUILD_TARGET = build i18n_mo
 +DEB_MAKE_ENVVARS = CFLAGS=$(or $(CFLAGS_$(cdbs_curpkg)),$(CFLAGS))
 CXXFLAGS=$(or $(CXXFLAGS_$(cdbs_curpkg)),$(CXXFLAGS)) CPPFLAGS=$(or
 $(CPPFLAGS_$(cdbs_curpkg)),$(CPPFLAGS)) LDFLAGS=$(or
 $(LDFLAGS_$(cdbs_curpkg)),$(LDFLAGS))

Above is needlessly complex (unlike CDBS snippets, this rules file has
no need for supporting per-package override variables).

This should suffice:

  DEB_MAKE_ENVVARS = CFLAGS=$(CFLAGS) CXXFLAGS=$(CXXFLAGS)
CPPFLAGS=$(CPPFLAGS) LDFLAGS=$(LDFLAGS)

...but some flags are declared differently in CDBS waf.mk snippet.
Possibly of relevance...

Seems all the *_OPT_FLAGS and *_NOOPT_FLAGS are unused (copied blindly

I pushed a fix doing this.

Yes. Not quite sure what those variable are supposed to do, however. I
thought they
could be used... but on second thought those are not valid arguments
for the current waf invocations, so I've just removed them.
