Bug#747568: rtkit-daemon.service:32] Unknown lvalue 'ControlGroup'

  Hi,

  'ControlGroup' in section 'Service'

The corresponding NEWS entry from v205:

  * As discussed earlier, the low-level cgroup configuration

ControlGroupPersistent=, ControlGroupAttribute= have been
removed. Please use high-level attribute settings instead as
well as slice units.

Hi, are there any news on this bug report?
The straight-forward fix is to simply drop the relevant ControlGroup=
line from the service file. See also [1] for a similar change in Fedora.

But is it a fix? Can you confirm that systemd/linux is doing the right
thing nowadays WRT to cpu cgroups and realtime?

This workaround was there for a reason, as explained by [1]. The
ControlGroup lvalue was removed in systemd 204. Should we need to add
a versioned breaks on systemd 205?

although this seems outdated now.

Bug#752544: vlc: source package fails to compile

2014-06-24 Thread Jason Pleau
Package: vlc
Version: 2.1.4-1+b2
Severity: serious
Tags: lfs
Justification: fails to build from source (but built successfully in the past)

Dear Maintainer,

vlc-2.1.4-1 currently fails to compile on my amd64 (unstable) system.

- To reproduce:

 1. download the source package with apt-get source vlc (need build-deps as
well)

2. build the package.

- Expected outcome: package is built and a .deb is generated

- Current outcome: Package fails to build with this error:

Making all in bin
make[2]: Entering directory '/home/oxez/vlc/vlc-2.1.4/bin'
  GEN ../modules/plugins.dat
/bin/bash: line 4: 17992 Segmentation fault ./vlc-cache-gen ../modules
Makefile:1538: recipe for target '../modules/plugins.dat' failed
make[2]: *** [../modules/plugins.dat] Error 139
make[2]: Leaving directory '/home/oxez/vlc/vlc-2.1.4/bin'

- How to build the package successfully :

The package can be built by using first: export
LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libgobject-2.0.so.0

Bug#752590: smtube: SMTube should include MPV as optional dependency

2014-06-24 Thread Lucas Cabrera
Package: smtube
Version: 2.1-1
Severity: normal

   * What led up to the situation?
Trying to uninstall VLC while having SMTube installed

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
sudo apt-get remove vlc

   * What was the outcome of this action?
While the command did want to uninstall VLC, it also wanted to install
smplayer and viceversa.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?
VLC to be removed and smplayer/mplayer/mplayer2 not to be installed as well.

I think MPV should be included as a dependency for SMtube (same way
totem/mplayer/vlc are). SMtube uses MPV as well
so there should be no problem there. If you want to use SMTube and you only use
mpv you would have to install
an additional video player as well which seems rather unnecesary. Thanks!

Bug#751800: mpg123: i486 decoder broken

2014-06-24 Thread Simon Kirby
On Mon, Jun 16, 2014 at 09:49:01PM +0200, Thomas Orgis wrote:

The _dither part used to be for i586, but there is also a plain C
variant in there now. The x86_dither is recommened for any
i386-compatible CPU. It activates assembly optimizations for i586, MMX,
SSE etc. at runtime. All i386-based decoders are merged in there ---
except i486, which is indeed a special beast.

So, Debian maintainer: This would happen on my system with the diff below
applied. Not sure if i486 ever gets returned or if there are others to
consider, but mine is returning i386.
