To me it looks like at least ladspa is not needed to be embedded.

You are correct, LADSPA possibly does not need to be embedded because
the header file is untouched.

dssi headers cannot be external without bringing in unnecessary ALSA
dependencies, as falktx has changed these headers significantly.

vestige header is one file and I think has no package in Debian repos (?)

I have made a significant bugfix since 3.2 regarding the function of the
logarithmic knobs and created a new version 3.3, including your
hardening patch, Jaromír.

Can we get it in soon, no one has seen these cool UIs yet :)

But unfortunately as DM I can't upload new package to experimental :(

Bug#722997: File currently included as changelog is (at most) a NEWS file

2014-07-13 Thread Alessandro Ghedini
On Sat, Jul 12, 2014 at 01:16:34PM +0200, Jonas Smedegaard wrote:
Makes perfect sense for a NEWS file to include only major changes (which
in effect means only changes applied to major releases when release

So please ignore my too harsh judgement on that file - only thing
confusing is shipping it as changelog: A changelog is expected to
_cover_ all changes even if not necessarily very granularly - i.e.
shortening to say Misc. internal code cleanup is fine, but making a
release with *no* changelog entry is weird.

Now that I think about this, it would probably make sense to include the point
releases in the RELEASE_NOTES too. Something like:

Release 0.4.1
=

- change
- change
...

Release 0.4.0
=

- change
- change
...

This changelog would only include releases in the current 0.X branch (which
I think is ok) from the latest .0 release up to the latest point release.

This way users can see what was fixed in a later point release (e.g. if they hit
a bug in, say, the .0 release, they can check if that's been fixed in .1).

FWIW, I did write release notes for the 0.4.1 release [0] but I didn't include
them in the RELEASE_NOTES file, so that wouldn't really be much more work.

Cheers

 Dear Maintainer,

Files with # in the name are not opening in gnome-mplayer, if you try to
open the video with direct terminal mplayer works perfectly, but with
gnome-mplayer is stopped and can not be given play.

 Output terminal:
 $ gnome-mplayer #file.mkv

Well, # denotes the start of comment in most (all?) shells. So you need to quote
it properly: run gnome-mplayer \#file.mkv or gnome-mplayer #file.mkv. If that
doesn't work, there is a bug, but I suspect it's just a case of your shell
ignoring everything after #.

 fillers) via

 mpv -dvd-image dvdimage dvd://

plays the second track, not the first. i am not quite sure what exactly to
expect (just playing or presenting the dvd menu or something entirely
different), but i think it shouldn't skip the first track.

From the manpage:

If no title is given, the longest title is auto-selected.

So this is actually a feature. E.g. if you are playing a movie DVD, it plays the
movie track by default, which is IMO a good thing, but it kinda falls apart in
your case, since longest track doesn't really mean most important.

(I also just noticed that this is not mentioned in the 0.4.0 release notes,
gonna fix that now).

I'm gonna see if upstream wants to change this back to 0 or something like
that.

Dear Maintainer,

This is ridiculous, but there are no way to Copy/Paste in any text box either
search pattern, URL, or something else. For example, to insert acestream
content id like 96ed2a14576731059370288f4dd74a1cb3d35a78 I should type all of
these 40 nonsense casual symbols by hand. It is not only annoying but also hard
to avoid errors in such devilish manipulation. Or I miss something?

This also happens with vlc, so I think it could be a bug in libdvdnav. Though I
have a multi-dvd movie that at the end of the track shows a Go to disc 2

use (albeit pretty questionable).

FWIW, you can go back to mplayer behaviour by using dvdread:// instead of

I escape the #, but it did not work again.

$ gnome-mplayer \#file.mkv

Changing the gnome-mplayer to mplayer the video plays correctly. The
biggest problem is to open on Thunar (Xfce file manager), but not works
in the shell too.

Was a recent update, I played these videos awhile ago.

Any file that contains # is not opening. A simple test I did in Thunar
was rename a file that was playing, adding # in name and by double click
did stop playing the file. Another file with # in the name, removing the
# and played correctly by double click.

Hi!

When I try to watch an embedded QuickTime video, I get the usual
Missing plugin message.

However, there is a quote from output of
apt-cache show browser-plugin-vlc:

Npp-Mimetype: ... video/quicktime ...

so it seems that a Quicktime plugin should exists in this package.

But, in about:plugins in Iceweasel, there is no reference to the
quicktime video format, only alot of other video formats, which
work fine in the browser.

In Iceweasel Preferences - Applications, there is no Use VLC Web
Plugin for Quicktime, as there is for the other video formats.

My vlc standalone program can play Quicktime video files.

The dvd-image option doesn't exist, did you mean --dvd-device?

causes mpv to segfault (since mpv starts with 0 whereas lsdvd starts at
1, track 3 for mpv is track 4 of lsdvd output)

let me know what i can do to provide more info.

I can't reproduce.

Would it be possible for you to upload this dvd image somewhere so I can
test
this? Or even an image with only the affected track, if it still causes
the bug.

It would be also useful if you could provide a backtrace of the crash
(using

gdb) with the mpv-dbg package installed.

Cheers

 Dear Maintainer,

This is ridiculous, but there are no way to Copy/Paste in any text box either
search pattern, URL, or something else. For example, to insert acestream
content id like 96ed2a14576731059370288f4dd74a1cb3d35a78 I should type all of
these 40 nonsense casual symbols by hand. It is not only annoying but also
 hard
to avoid errors in such devilish manipulation. Or I miss something?
No you don't miss anything.
Simply searching for xbmc copy paste on google.com points to the
upstream XBMC forum where this known limitation is documented.

Cheers,

If you refer to my message in #753265, yes, I realize that was rather enigmatic
(and I didn't intend to offend anyone either), in fact I let it slip without
explaining it any further because I could actually reproduce what was reported,
so it wasn't really that important.

That was not the case with this report, and that's why I expanded on that part
in my response in this case, in a way that, again, was certainly not intended to
be offensive (in fact, I think it was rather polite, but then again English is
not my first language so I may be wrong).

Now that this is cleared, please let's all get back to bug fixing.
