Bug#779968: icecast2: Please package Icecast 2.4.1

2015-03-06 Thread Carlo Stemberger
Package: icecast2
Version: 2.4.0-1.1
Severity: wishlist
Tags: security

Dear maintainer,
Icecast 2.4.0 seems to be quite buggy:

http://icecast.org/news/icecast-release-2_4_1/

I think version 2.4.1 might be a better choice for Jessie: it's basically a bug
fixing release with no new features.

Thank you!

Carlo

Audacity 2.0.6 bug in Debian

2015-03-06 Thread Davide Anchisi
Hi,

I am experiencing the problem I detail below with Audacity 2.0.6, for which
I already contacted the Audacity team. They think it is a Debian related
problem, as Audacity does not support building with wxWidgets v. 3* yet,
while Audacity 2.0.6 build in Debian requires libwxgtk3.0-dev (actually,
mine is built with wxWidgets 3.0.2)

The problem:
when I rename a track I can input letters only if they are not keyboard
shortcuts to audacity. In that case the command associated to the shortcut
is executed (eg. p results in pause, space plays the track). The focus
is to the input window and letters not associated to shortcuts correctly
appear in the input mask (eg. n or i).
What I do is click the track menu in the window of the track (where the
name of the track is), choose Name... this opens an input panel, asking
Change track name to: . The problem occurs when I type in the input field
of that window.

Platform: Debian GNU/Linux stable/testing amd64
Source downloaded through Debian package manager and compiled on my system
Window manager: DWM

I hope there is an easy fix.
Thanks,

Davide

Re: xbmc on rpi2

2015-03-06 Thread Bálint Réczey
Hi Karl,

2015-03-03 22:21 GMT+01:00 Mag. Dr. Karl Kashofer karl.kasho...@gmx.at:
 Hi all !

I try to run xfce + xbmc on an rpi2 and keep failing. xfce runs fine on
 a debian install taken from
 http://sjoerd.luon.net/posts/2015/02/debian-jessie-on-rpi2/

However, xbmc will not run, it complains about opengl acceleration which
 does not exist on rpi.
  crashlog with running X: http://pastebin.com/DC223495
  crashlog without running X: http://pastebin.com/uLWPjGh5

I compiled xbmc from source using the --with-target raspberrypi switch
and a few other compile options but again somehow xbmc insists on using X.

As far as i understand X is not accelerated while the framebuffer is
(via proprietary binaries...) so the idea would be to use the
 framebuffer device for xbmc.

Would you have any idea what to do ?
I have no experience with running XBMC/Kodi on rpi/rpi2. Since you
compile it yourself you can ask aroud upstream:
http://kodi.wiki/view/Raspberry_Pi_2

You can also check XBian for configuration flags/patches.
http://www.xbian.org/raspberry-pi-2-landed/

When the freeze is over I'll check if I can merge their patches if needed.

Cheers,
Balint

 Thanks,
 Karl

Still can't reproduce. You can try using the --no-config option to make sure
configuration files don't interfere. Also, the output of playing the file with
the --msg-level=all=trace option could be useful as well.

Hi Robbie,

I CC you as I don't know if you are subscribed already to mailing list.

I found out about this team when I took over the RFP for mplayer. Since
then, I've been reading the mailing lists, and trying to become more
involved with the rest of multimedia packaging.

You should create your alioth account
https://wiki.debian.org/DebianMultimedia/Join

Read about our team:
https://wiki.debian.org/DebianMultimedia

And about our packaging work-flow:
https://wiki.debian.org/DebianMultimedia/DevelopPackaging

My purpose in joining is twofold. First, I'd like to help out keeping
Debian amazing at multimedia, and second, I'd like to see mplayer
specifically getting back into the archives. I wrote a set of packaging
for mplayer, and I mmicove (sp?) has as well. I'd like to work with the
team to see that back in the Debian archives proper.

I can't speak about these packages as I care mostly about audio packages
