Bug#861711: buildd.debian.org: Architecture: all B-D confusion

2017-05-02 Thread Aaron M. Ucko
Package: buildd.debian.org
Severity: serious
Justification: makes some packages fail to build from source

Per https://buildd.debian.org/status/package.php?p=gsequencer=sid ,
gsequencer shows up as BD-Uninstallable for Architecture: all with the
explanation

gsequencer build-depends on missing:
- liboss4-salsa-dev:amd64

gsequencer specifies an appropriate architecture restriction here:

Build-Depends: debhelper (>= 10), autotools-dev, dh-autoreconf, pkg-config,
libcunit1-dev, libgtk2.0-dev, libcairo2-dev, xvfb, xauth, libx11-dev,
libinstpatch-dev, libsndfile1-dev, libsamplerate-dev, libxml2-dev, ladspa-sdk,
dssi-dev, lv2-dev, libgmp-dev, libasound2-dev [linux-any], liboss4-salsa-dev
[!linux-any], oss4-dev [kfreebsd-any], libjack-dev, uuid-dev, docbook-xsl,
docbook-xml, gtk-doc-tools, xsltproc

Its maintainers could probably stand to split out B-D-Arch and
B-D-Indep settings, but my understanding is that the Architecture: all
build should have been able to proceed regardless; it certainly did in
the past.

Could you please take a look?

Thanks!

Bug#861645: gsequencer FTBFS on mips/mipsel: FAIL: ags_xorg_application_context_test

2017-05-02 Thread Joël Krähemann
Hi

I have experienced on some other architectures with
ags_xorg_application_context_test
the same problems. It was not evident to me if the problem was related
to Gtk+-2.0 or
xvfb-run since the stack-trace ended as doing gtk_widget_show(window);

However other architectures just pass the test. Now, I'm going to set
up a VM to get a
meaningful stack-trace.

Bests,
Joël

This same issue has been raised in relation to easytag as well. It boils
down to the system selecting a random handler for a specific MIME type
if there is no default set.

IMO your DE should be setting a suitable default file manager which
users could then override if they want. What DE are you running?

> a possible fix would be to remove the mimetype from the *.desktop files

That would work, but would then prevent "Open With" working with
audacious on directories. In your case you can workaround this by
setting the default yourself with "xdg-mime default XXX inode/directory"
where XXX is the name of the desktop file you want to handle
directories. What we really need is a way to prioritize MIME type
associations, but I don't think that's possible at the moment.

Dear Maintainer,

The new package comes with a lot improvements. Thought the important ones are
provided by a patch. Maintenance would be just much easier as providing this
package.
