Bug#781866: audacity: Audacity for Jessie builds with wxWidgets 3.0.2, which is not fully compatible with 2.8.x code
Package: audacity Version: 2.0.6-2 Followup-For: Bug #781866 Dear Maintainer, any news on this issue? Dave, a workaround for the device selection boxes is to reset the toolbars from the menus: View - Toolbars - Reset toolbars But this has to be done after each launch, and the result is not perfect either. I see that the debian package has several patches regarding wxWidgets3: http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/pkg-multimedia/audacity.git/tree/debian/patches is upstream aware of them, and endorse them? Or should the package really just depend on libwxbase2.8-0 and libwxgtk2.8-0? This is the upstream bug about the issue: http://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=902 Apparently there might be also some crashes with wx3: http://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/buglist.cgi?keywords=wx3resolution=--- Just my 2c. In the source package I see both python3-dev and pynton3.3-dev in build deps, maybe this is what is confusing the build system making it add a dep on 3.2? BTW, even if configuration succeeds after the hack from above the program crashes here, but this is matter for another report :) Thanks, Antonio [1] http://docs.python.org/3/whatsnew/3.3.html -- Antonio Ospite http://ao2.it A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text. On 23/02/2012 23:16, Antonio Ospite wrote: Dear Maintainers, I know you know that there is a new upstream release out, I am filing this just as a memento :) Thanks, Antonio I've started working on 2.62 a couple of days ago. There's my experimental branch on the git repository, where patches have been re-worked (dropping those applied upstream) and we're waiting to test OceanSim support enough to declare it usable. Cycles support was also asked to be added, but there's an issue[1] about that. However, feel free to test the snapshot and help us improving it ;-) Hi Matteo, the debian package from the master.mfv branch builds and installs fine here, thanks. The issue reported in #658275 is still there, but it is a very minor problem, and I can't investigate its cause for the time being. Keep up the good work.
