Bug#579022: audacity: cannot record stuff

2010-04-24 Thread Toni Mueller
Package: audacity
Version: 1.3.12-2
Severity: important

Hello,

I'm trying out audacity, and encounter the following problem:

At startup:

$ audacity
Expression 'stream->capture.pcm' failed in 'src/hostapi/alsa/pa_linux_alsa.c',
line: 3653
Expression 'stream->capture.pcm' failed in 'src/hostapi/alsa/pa_linux_alsa.c',
line: 3653
Expression 'stream->capture.pcm' failed in 'src/hostapi/alsa/pa_linux_alsa.c',
line: 3653

When the GUI is up, I cannot easily chose a recording device, and the
only sound that I'm able to record, if anything, is some jittering noise
that sounds much like an artifact, and remotely resembles a running
electric engine. The wave in the monitor remains flat, however.

Kind regards,

Bug#786728: volti: unmute does not work in pulseaudio

2015-05-24 Thread Toni Mueller
Package: volti
Version: 0.2.3-5
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I find that when I mute volti, it mutes both the volume in the Playback
menu of pavucontrol, as well as the stream in the "Output" menu of
pavucontrol. But when I click ummute, only the stream in the Playback
menu is being unmuted, while I have to unmute the stream in the Output
menu manually.

Bug#807648: zyne fails to start in stretch

2017-03-03 Thread Toni Mueller

Hi,

I just installed Zyne on a Stretch box and tried it out.

The error message is this:

$ zyne
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/bin/zyne", line 4, in
wxversion.select("2.8")
  File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/wxversion.py", line 152, in select

However, if I change the offending code to say
wxversion.select("3.0"), zyne starts, but shows a semi-functional user
interface. On the console, there are the following error messages:

$ zyne

Bug#868706: no UI after minimizing and unminimizing in Awesome WM

2017-07-17 Thread Toni Mueller
Package: inkscape
Version: 0.92.1-1
Severity: important

Hi,

I'm using Awesome, the window manager, and ran into a big problem using
Inkscape. I actually can't remember having had this problem before,
because I have been using both Inkscape and Awesome for a long time,
although I use Inkscape only rarely.

The scenario: I start Inscape. Most things work nicely, but then, I
decided to minimize Inkscape, so it is only visible in the task bar at
the top of the screen. Then I tried to unminimize Inkscape again, to
continue to work on that image I was working on

The expected result: I would have expected Inkscape to properly display
again, and let me continue with my work.

The result: Inkscape did get as far as drawing a large grey rectangle
where Inkscape has been visible before, plus some white rectangles for
what were probably input windows (for eg. the font size), and that's it.
Please see the attached screenshot of the Inkscape window at that point.

As a consequence, I am unable to use Inkscape at this point.

Cheers,
--Toni++
