Bug#628074: vlc crashes when opening any video file

When opening any video file with VLC it crashes with either a segmentation 
fault or
an error message from glibc.

Please give us the libc message and/or run in gdb to get a backtrace
(and install vlc-dbg in order to have a good backtrace)
