Bug#630549: clementine: Crash when openong visualizations menu
Hi! This seems to be one of the very ugly OpenGL bugs... I'm no expert at OpenGL programming and the projectM code is sort of... messy, but I'll take a look at it as soon as I have a little more time. This issue does not occur with the version of Clementine which ships projectM internally? Anyway, projectM upstream really needs some help to keep this great project going, which is strange since projectM is used in Boxee, XBMC and pretty much every other mediaplayer which wants pretty visualisations in the *nix world. I'll take a look on how XBMC handles projectM. Thanks for this (good) bug report! Thomas PIERSON web.pier...@gmail.com writes: Hi, I could not reproduce this bug. I tested on several configurations and it works fine. However, I suspect that this bug is caused by libprojectm2. Package from debian-multimedia.org was working fine. This multimedia package seem to use the embedded version of 'libprojectm2' contrary to the archive package that use the real 'libprojectm2' Debian package instead. So it is possible that there are differences between them. Mais be you need to read the clementine source code ? In CMakeLists.txt : , | option(USE_SYSTEM_PROJECTM Don't set this option unless your system projectM library has been compiled with the Clementine patches in 3rdparty OFF) ` Not a bug surprise if clementine doesn't work if build with the 'real' and apparently broken 'libprojectm2' Debian package. Christian Maybe you need to read the file 'README.Debian' in the package : [...] * libprojectm2: It is a shared library already packaged in Debian but some patches are needed to compile Clementine with it. Patches are now included since version 2.0.1+dfsg-6 of libprojectm2. (see #600653) [...] So, as you could see here : #600653, these patches are already applied. I work for a year on this package and I did not forget to read the clementine sources... Thanks for your help.
