I just tried it. Any idea when we can expect these glitches to be gone? Is
 it some qt issue?

I rather think this is a vbox/xorg problem as it also affects non-qt
systems. At any rate, it affecting only virtual machines does not make
me particularly motivated to investigate further.

Another thing, that may or may not be related: In the font management tab
all the font previews are rendered … fuzzy. Is that a graphics related issue
too, or is that an unrelated issue?

Doesn't seem fuzzy to me. Can you post a screenshot?

Ah yes that is a Qt thing IIRC. Fedora did extensive tracking of hint
problems with Qt 5 so they might have input on this. But generally Qt
=5.3 at least has extreme problems with RGB hinting and actively
ignores the fontconfig hint flags which is possibly what you see
there. There's a bunch of bug reports in Qt's jira with regards to
hinting problems.

Qt 5.4 ought to arrive on the ISO possibly next week, so we should be
able to directly compare improvements then. Or so I hope :)

ISO for 2014-12-12

2014-12-12 Thread Harald Sitter
http://files.kde.org/snapshots/unstable-i386-latest.iso.mirrorlist

# changes
- qtcurve config dialog is now available (requires installation of at
least kde-style-qtcurve5)

## integrated, but requiring manual installation (not on ISO)
- kaccounts-integration
- kaccounts-providers
- signon-kwallet-extension

# errata
- kde4breeze theme convergence continues to be broken for yet new
unknown reasons
- qtcurve packaging is slightly weirdly crap still, though it improved
- (kscreen/plasmashell start behaves for now it appears)
