I'm sorry, I would not trust anything from an approved Russian Internet /
computer purveyor. And Symantec (and their ilk) are equally suspect. Almost
certainly when you "run" these "people's" software, you get backdoors you
will never find, Linux or Windows or Iwhatever. Just say NO.

It scans the OS for malware, but not anything else. (Like my collection of
obvious malware that I want identified.)

ClamAV does a better job scanning a local filesystem. (But it won't store
the viruses into a tree structure for my collection.)
