Well went against the wall on that one. No inittab... Shows
you how much I have looked there lately.

Not sure now where to do the work on the console, has
to be in there.

OK, I will go through all of it, has been a long time, did that
sort of thing when we set up amateur radio packet switches,
had a screen that brought up the switch info. That has been
a LOT of years ago. moved to SW WA in 2012, I think I did
the last packet radio sw setup back 3-4 years before that.

Yes, it is Ubuntu server and it is systemd... I will look for the
config file.

pussthecat doesn't spy and track you. If you want results in a specific
area you have to add the area to your search query like before the mass
surveillance search engines.

OK, I tried it, but it produced a couple of questions.

First, I did a search on 'shop insulin syringes' and all the sites that
came up gave me prices in either £ or €. My VPN has me connected through
a server in Miami, but through the same server DuckDuckGo gives me
mostly places in the US, with a scattering from other places. I have no
idea if search engines check your location from the server you are
connected to, or how they decide what to display.

Second, in the lower right corner of each hit it says something like
'duckduckgo qwant startpage cached.' All the hits were cached, but I
don't understand where they are cached. I did this search in Chromium
on Xubuntu, and I had done the same search yesterday, also in Chromium,
so maybe that is where the cache is. But some of them referred to other
search engines instead of DuckDuckGo, e.g., Bing, and I have never ever
deliberately used Bing.

I suppose I need to poke around in the Advanced options. :)

Did a test search. It _ *IS* _ much better than either Duckduckgo or
Google in that respect.

I'll experiment with using it as my default search engine.

Re: [PLUG] OT VLAN Setup between 2 Cisco switches

2020-08-30 Thread Chuck Hast
Well, I have been trying to get a backup file out of this so I can
send it to you, but so far when I try to do http/https backup it
fails the only thing is I get a network error, and if I look in the
switch logs, it says it cannot find the file.

I have a SG300-28 at home, it was never this cantankerous,
I can do file backups and uploads to it with no issues whatsoever.

They must have cut some major corners somewhere with these
switches.
