Re: how can i get dvd on latest amd 64 ubuntu disk - have slow connection
stephen - thanks! i tried your idea of using a torrent (transmission-gtk) and in 1 hr, the iso file for ubuntu 14.04 was transmitted to my download dir. i tried to read the logs (debug and error) and found some but maybe it was from the sending torrent. i moved the file to another dir and the pgm did not like when i started another torrent. so i hand to remove the history of the torrent as well. restart the pgm (may not have had to this) and started the identical file from earlier. it started and finished just like the first one. I use cmp to diff the files and they were identical. that is good. the file size is a little over a gigabyte. the file name is ubuntu-14.04-desktop-amd64.iso. now i need to copy to a dvd. there is a trick to it (don't remember) so i must resume battle tomorrow. thanks a lot! david ps i remember a time when the external web would just slow down to a few bytes a second during the noon hr. I want to run my linux with the xfce DE
... so I opened synaptic and found 'XFCE ...' in the package selection in the left panel and installed all the programs presented. Then I logged out/in again. Then when I clicked on the lambda I was not given the option of running xfce. Would someone tell me what I did wrong and how to make it so I can run xfce? :-)~MIKE~(-: --- PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.phxlinux.org To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change your mail settings: http://lists.phxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss

the other option is if you can leave your connection active use torrrent or django to grab your image. and just let them trickle overnight. Re: How to stop this annoying pop-up?
Looks like KDE Wallet Manager is asking for the keyring key to retrieve your password for upquick. Have you changed your wallet password? Or you upquick password?
