Many of the tablets do special negotiation on power, and the chargers and
others expect that. I'd recommend having a USB condom in general, but in this
case it'd probably also solve the negotiation problem. These are the ones I use.

Also there are many extended charge batteries provided by Anker which may work
for your needs. I was looking at buying this one for my Dad who has a CPAP
machine and would like to be able to camp. I imagine a smaller one would work
depending on what you want.

2018-07-10 Thread Todd Cole
I have never really researched it but most inverters out put a square wave
vs AC uses a sine wave. As a 30 year RV owner and one that uses a good
inverter/laptop in my car. I have never had a issue.
I do make sure I have a good battery as a filter and a surge protector
might be a good idea. 5 years ago I camped in the RV for two months using
the generator daily to charge phones and computers
and used my phone to tether with no issue. my wife used her CPAP on hot
nights with the Generator. I assume cheap inverters/ Generators could be a
issue but with 0 issues I would say Go for it and enjoy
tech in the woods. Todd

Second attempt to send this to PLUG.

When I sent this a few hours ago, it was
bounced back to me as "undeliverable"

http://127.0.0.1:631/printers/
returns this result:
▼ Queue Name ▼ Description LocationMake and Model Status
HL2270DWBrother HL2270DWJoe's study Brother HL2270DW for
CUPSProcessing - "The printer is not responding."

Ironically, it seems that my wife is able to print from
windows laptop. How can that be?

Re: printer is not responding

2018-07-10 Thread Brian Cluff
By that error, I believe that your system is working correctly, it just
can't reach the printer anymore.

My stab in the dark guess would be that your printer changed IPs and you
need to update your config to reflect that.

Perhaps your wife's computer is setup in such a way that it allows for
the printer's IP address to change and it takes that into account.

lpstat shows the document is still in queue.

I had made no settings changes, and I feel certain that
the printer itself has not failed. I have tried everything suggested to
trouble-shoot on internet sites, but I cannot get it to go again.

This link shows what I see in System Settings:

What can I do to get this running again?

Thanks Brian! That tip enabled me to solve the
problem. I've never heard of a device arbitrarily
changing ip addresses without any apparent reason.
Crazy.

2018-07-10 Thread Brian Cluff
You're router probably lost power and when it came back on it handed out
different addresses than it had before.

I'd suggest going into your router and assigning specific IPs based on a
devices MAC address for devices such as printers.  That way it's still
configured via DHCP, but the address will always be the same.
