As always, we will start the year off with mailman day :).

Looking forward to seeing everyone on the 10th for our next east side
meeting.

There will be a job networking event before Stammtisch starting at 18:00
on the 15th.

The security meeting will return on the 17th.

If it is a AT device then you are dead in the water. There is no way to
unlock the bootloader on those deives.

if the manufacturer has locked it and won't supply a code to unlock it?

I don't have experience with Mint, but I do with Ubuntu, years ago.

If mint uses DPKG, I think you can use the command:

dpkg -i "URLtoYourDEBfile.deb"

wget will get the file, but won't install it.

If I'm having this problem and you are, then others are also.  I read a 
few days ago that an update has been released.  While I was typing this, 
I checked my old phone.  This feature worked on it. Now it doesn't.  I 
just had the bad luck to notice it soon after a new release came out.  
I'll wait for developers to notice and fix it.

I often use Airdroid, I like it for interacting with my phone and 
pushing files over to it.  I use SolidExplorer to also smb/sftp attach

when I get calls and shows me phone notifications.

want to be able to print fliers. What program should I use. I tried with
google drive but that leaves a border.

the desktop machine.

In Dolphin, I click on the phone and see the internal storage
and the micro SD card i added.   I also see folders that say
Camera pictures (internal storage) and Camera pictures (SD card)

I try the camera pictures folder on the internal storage and I
get: The file or folder
/run/user/1000/aa7ea069101eb562/storage/emulated/0/DCIM/Camera
does not exist.

I try the camera pictures folder on the SD card and I get:

The file or folder

/run/user/1000/aa7ea069101eb562/storage/30303030-2d30-3030-3000-40b6400040b6/DCIM/Camera
does not exist.

Trying to open the internal storage folder: The file or folder
/run/user/1000/aa7ea069101eb562/storage/emulated/0 does not exist.

Trying to open the SD card folder:

The file or folder

/run/user/1000/aa7ea069101eb562/storage/30303030-2d30-3030-3000-40b6400040b6
does not exist.

This computer has Kubuntu 18.04 64 bit installed on it. Is
this a problem with android 8? I know android gets to be more
of a pain in the ass to use with each new version. It seems
they're trying to make it so secure that people can't use it.
