I looked it up and checked network.trr.mode in about:config.  It was set 
to 0 which, according to the url below says it was off by default.  I 
changed it to 5 which means off by choice.

I used Firefox and Chromium.  I don't know what DoH is.  I'll have to 
look that up.

cnn.com, foxnews.com and most any other website I visited.  When I 
tested pihole, I turned off the ad blocking extensions in the browsers.  
I turned them back on and the ads went a way.


  I've read about youtube including the ad in the same stream as the 
video.  When I watch a video with an ad in it, I fast forward that part.
