I think it would be an interesting experiment to see how far this computer can go. I think this computer can go further than you think. Use as few tabs as you can. Don't use VMs. This computer's going to have trouble just running its metal instance. Forget those cutesy distros like Mint, Ubuntu, and all their spawn. Forget Redhat. You might be able to shoehorn Debian or Devuan into such service, or maybe *too or Arch, but personally I'd recommend Void Linux or Slackware. I agree the flash is going to be slower, from my experience. I do think 4GB RAM is enough for a Linux machine. This computer would be all my wife would need - email, surfing the internet, and occasional letter writing. It's basically a CPU with just the Efficiency cores of a U or P series processor I believe. They're pretty good from what I've seen, much better than the older celeron J and N series processors.
