I have different vLANs configured in my home network, carving out network space for things like IoT and work devices. My wife will consistently use her work laptop as her personal, so after an argument, the passive aggressive admin in me rate limited the work vLAN to 500kbps up and 1mbps down. When she complained that her Internet has been really slow lately I tossed my arms up and was, it works fine on my PC. Dunno. I was just reminded of this when you said "plotting something for your ex-wife" ... She's not my ex, but I still thought it was funny.
