[SlimDevices: Plugins] XM Radio Plugin Sound Quality
Is anyone else having an issue with the XM Radio Plugin's sound quality? I am wondering if I am doing something wrong in my setup. The sound output quality is equal to my cheap alarm clock radio beside my bed. Here is what I am running: SlimServer 6.2.1 (Patched) SoftSqueeze 2.3 mplayer - date 11/13/2005 allienbbc - 1.01beta SocketWrapper - 2/20/2006 windows-essential-04/12/2005 Codecs Lame - lame3.98a3 XMRadio Plugin 1.0 used with Roku SoundBridge 1001 Window XP Home Edition NetGear WPN824 router The music stream is coming across fine with no interruptions but the quality of the sound is severely degraded. Any thoughts on what might be degrading the sound quality? The same system will play an MP3 file on my server with outstanding quality. I am also able to play non-password Internet radio sites with outstanding quality. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! It looks fine here or I may not understand the problem - Which version of slimserver are you running ? - Which web browser are you using ? - On which OS are you running the web browser ? - Is it possible to post an image how it looks like ? Philip Meyer Wrote: > 2. "No statistics found". - The text should be changed to something else in the next release, it is shown when no song is currently playing. Philip Meyer Wrote: > Also would it make sense to add an "All Songs" entry to the selected > stats list? I'm not sure I understand what you mean with "All Songs". Most of the statistics show all songs, the difference is just the sorting order. Or do you mean that you like an easy way to set the limit of number of shown songs to unlimited ? Yes the url is used as identifier, so if you change the filename it will be detected as a completely new song to TrackStat. However, I think the statistics for the old file won't show up in the WebUI statistics since the SQL queries inside TrackStat look for the url both in the TrackStat table(track_statistics) and in the slimserver table(tracks). The statistics will however still be in the database. A prune option that simply remove the statistics for the tracks with the old name would be quite easy to implement, I can try to add this in a future release. When I think about it, I it might not be to hard to use the album/track/trackno info in the prune option if these parameters also would be stored in the TrackStat table. It is not a problem for me, because I have decided to "never" change the filename and instead just change the tag information in the file if something is incorrect. Do you often rename tracks so this is a major problem for you ? Currently the way to keep statistics when renaming file is the following procedure: 1. Perform a backup of the the TrackStat data (from the web UI settings page) 2. Manually change the file names in the backup text file to the new names 3. Clear all TrackStat data (from the web UI settings page) 4. Restore the edited backup file (from the web UI settings page) (Another option is of course to edit the urls in the track_statistics table with a SQL client application) Thanks for all the comments and ideas for improvments. -- erland Erland Isaksson 'My homepage' (http://erland.homeip.net) 'My download page' (http://erland.homeip.net/download) erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=21485 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: Live Music Archive plugin question ...
If you are up for testing newish software, the 6.5b1 release of the SlimServer has a vastly simplified LMA plugin as part of the release. Let me know if you still have problems with this. --dan -- danaronson danaronson's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=678 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=21456 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: Announce: XM Radio Plugin 1.0 (with Skins)
Thanks for the fedback, guys. I think I have the information you were looking for in the second paragraph of the "Release Notes" file included with the release and separately available for download on Sourceforge. But I'm worried that "Release Notes" may sound too techie, and would be better called "README". Could you send me some further feedback about whether your looked at the release notes but found the (admittedly terse) information there not to be useful, or whether you didn't see or read the release notes? Thanks so much for posting this, I could not figure this out. :-) pedalvet Wrote: > This is great. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Install questions on iTunesupdate plugin on Tiger 10.4.5

Here's what I have done. - Uninstalled my "global" install of the SlimServer by deleting from the panel. - Reinstall the SlimServer locally. - Did the "force CPAN install" as the regular install gave me some errors. - Restarted the server But I just don't see the plugin showing up as an installed plugin in the server front page. Further when I look at the log.txt I don't see the plugin being loaded at all. I am lost right now as to what is to be done to resolve this issue. Once again, thanks in advance. Govardhanen We need more details! It sounds like you have OS X. What version? What version of Slimserver? What version of the iTunesUpdate plugin? Did the force install of Mac::AppleScript::Glue have any errors? If so, what were they? Are there any messages in the slimserver log that say anything about iTunesUpdate? Where did you put the iTunesUpdate plugin? ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

For the 10 of you who have downloaded this plugin, I've updated it a bit. The changes are described on the webpage. I did a little more testing ... and it seems that none of the grateful dead shows on Live Music Archive are playable via the plugin. I think it's probably an issue of them taking down and eventually re-posting all the GD shows. -- teatime teatime's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4176 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=21456 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
[SlimDevices: Plugins] TrackStat WebUI Statistics
When I select to view TrackStat from the Fishbone skin, I see the following issues: 1. "TrackStat" title doesn't fit on the page (the top is slightly chopped). 2. "No statistics found". I tried viewing the page in the default skin, which works a bit better. I can see a choice of statistics to view, and these choices seem to be working. However, above the "Choose statistics to view" I still see "No statistics found"! Also would it make sense to add an "All Songs" entry to the selected stats list? By the way, I have renamed some filenames and rescanned the DB for slimserver. What happens with the gathered stats for these files - I assume your DB table uses the url as a unique identifier? If so, those track stats are no longer relevant. Could a prune option be added to check for old stats? It would be nice to clear out the entries - even better, would it be possible to try to identify a new track in the slimserver DB that has a matching track number, title, artist and album and add the old stats to the new url (purge them if no exact match can be made). This is great. I'm now getting much more mileage from my subscription. I'd suggest posting a FAQ, or including some "how to" in the read me file, as it took me quite a while of poking around to figure out where to put in my password (server settings > internet radio). No, discovery mode does work when not on a 'personal' station, which makes sense: Discovery = new music & Personal = music you've already listened to, so there's no overlap. However it currently has the side effect of breaking the now playing information for a period of time. This is an issue with the LastFM servers, not the SlimServer plugin.
