[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: Music IP and Slimserver 6.5b1

2006-08-07 Thread MeSue

I'm still on 6.3.1, and have been getting empty mixes for a few weeks
now. Ever since I rebuilt my MIP database from scratch (I had stored
analysis within the files so it didn't have to re-analyze) to see if it
solved another problem. I haven't even tried to troubleshoot it. I've
just been creating my mixes in the MIP program and sending to
SlimServer from there.

What version of MIP do you have? Mine is 1.7 beta 2. I got a notice of
beta 3 today, but haven't installed it yet,

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: TrackStat data

2006-08-07 Thread erland

Its stored in the slimserver SQLite database represented by the
slimserversql.db file, in slimserver 6.5 beta its stored in the MySQL
database.

If you have performed a backup of the TrackStat data its also stored in
the backup file/directory you have specified in the TrackStat settings
in the Server settings section of the web interface.

If you have moved/renamed your music files, the TrackStat data may
still be in the slimserver database, its just not visible in the
interface. In that case you can get it by performing a backup of the
TrackStat data and edit the backup file manually to reflect the new
paths to the music and then finally perform a restore operation of the
TrackStat data.

Do you know what you did that caused the data to dissapear ?

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Music IP and Slimserver 6.5b1

2006-08-07 Thread tfish77

I know there are few threads out there already about Music IP, so I'm
sorry if this is redundant, but I can't find my issue - and I don't
know if it's a Slimserver bug or a problem with Music IP, or just me.
Anyway, here's my story:

I recently upgraded to SlimServer Version 6.5b1 - 8825 - Windows XP -
EN - cp1252. I am using MySQL 5.0 as the database, and as part of the
upgrade I had to drop and re-build the database schema as it had
changed. So I got the new schema built, and did a "clear and rescan
all" of my library. So far, so good. However, every album and every
track now has the little "mm" icon next to it (in the web interface -
can't test from my SB because the firmware update is also broken, but
that's a different topic); in the past, only some albums and tracks had
the "mm" icon - the mixable ones. In addition, whenever I click on the
"mm" icon on a track to make a new mix, I see the MusicMagic Mix
screen, but it's totally empty. Same behavior with every track, album,
and artist.

I opened up Music IP (which I have running as a windows service, just
like Slimserver) and did a refresh as well as a rescan for new songs.
That went fine. I saved the new library cache and triggered a
Slimserver clear and rescan, and I'm getting the same behavior.

I really hope the answer is not to have Music IP re-scan my whole
library because that can easily take 2 days of high-CPU usage, thus
essentially locking me out of my PC for the duration.

Has anyone else had this problem? I think I'm starting the services in
the right order (i.e. start Music IP first, then start Slimserver) and
I'm not sure what else to try. Any ideas would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: Alien BBC and Chill

2006-08-07 Thread bpa

I don't think this has anything to do with AlienBBC.

The URLs don't play with Mplayer standalone either which is the player
behind AlienBBC.

The URL of the stations has an ASX file as follows:

Code:

  Chill - Low

  Chill - Low
  Chill
  Chill
  http://mediasrv.musicradio.com/Chill_Low?WMContentBitrate=4"/>

  http://medialog.musicradio.com/wmsiislog.dll"/>

When I played the station on WMP - a log agent tried to make an
outgoing network connection. I wonder what it is trying to log and what
information would be sent !

It's possible this station won't play unless the DLL in the LOGURL is
allowed to execute but without more time such as with Ethereal I can't
be sure.

To clarify - they both play on my PC, but only 7 seconds or so of the

Not tried it on my Squeezebox yet, but my point was that there appears
to be a problem with the streams themselves i.e. it's not Squeezebox

The Synced part is the key: I see this all the time: the slave can't
rate stuff. (My LivingRoom player right now is the 'master' and
Softsqueeze at work is the slave, so I can't use the fake remote to
rate.)

The current implementation is limited to:
1. Rate currently playing songs from "Now Playing" menu
2. Rate songs from the "Plugins/TrackStat" menu

Are you playing a song when rating is not possible or are you trying to
rate a song which is stopped or paused ?

If the problem is for a playing song, can you give me the debug log
output even though it doesn't look as an error. Enable debugging in the
TrackStat section of the the Server Settings.

The library and covers thumbnails use a different method to get their

Which scanning method are you using in moose ? Generally the

the folders method should work if everything is setup correctly.

Also, which slimserver build are you running, and is there anything
special/restrictive about your network setup ?

Otherwise.. If you send me a moose log file off list I'll have a look to

With bandwidth option - 98% CPU
Without bandwidth - 7-10% CPU

So if you are sure about your test with no bandwidth option - then
there must be some difference between PPC and ARM processors (e.g.

I think I found the answer but not sure why it works. I tried launching
the XM sations using the web interface, but noticed it immediately also
went to stop. If I used the web interface to tell the player to PLAY,
then the stream would begin!

I then went to the Squeezebox 3, using the remote and changed a
channel. As usual, it switched channels, then stopped w/o any audio
playing. If I then hit any other transport control other than play
(eg. ffwd, or pause) the Squeezebox starts buffering and AUDIO PLAYS!!!
This has worked a few times and is currently playing.

I've attached a log of this behaviour. Is the plugin supposed to work
like this?

Anyhow, I'm loving it -- thanks for the great plugin!

Shouldn't be necessary. Where did you put the MHCPAN stuff?

One good idea when fighting with plugins not showing up is to run
slimserver from the command line using the "d_plugins" option ("slim.exe
-d_plugins"). This will give you some information about _why_ a plugin
fails to load. But in this case I'm pretty sure it was the additional
modules. I'm working on new versions which will make these optional.
