New build of the plugin (http://www.inguzaudio.com/EQ/) and DSP

(Sorry for the hiatus between updates... I have lots of goodies in the

James,

I had exactly the same problem as dsharber, but on mac os 10.4, with

You're probably thinking of the older unofficial RealSlim plugin, which
was a bit of a hack.

Not sure why it would hang, is the Rhapsody client logged in on your
PC? Try enabling the debugging options d_upnp, d_plugins, d_parse and
d_directstream.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: Announce: Custom Browse plugin

2006-09-30 Thread JJZolx

One thing I just noticed about the 'New Artists' browse is that artists
for whom you've added a new album will float to the top. This doesn't
seem like the correct behavior to me. If the first album in my
collection several years ago was a Rolling Stones album, and today I
add a new one, then the Stones end up on the top of New Artists.

Ultimately, unless you can get truly 'new' artists to be listed, then
this browse mode is actually a bit less useful then the built-in New
Music browsing, which shows the newest albums added to the library.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: ANNOUNCE: Lyrics.pm Version 0.7

2006-09-30 Thread pc4ever1

1st off thanks for the plugin, since I have no programming skills I feel
queezy about suggesting things for this plugin.

Recently Michael Herger revised his Album and Biograghy plugins. They
now have the capability to scroll on the SB3. This is excellent and I
can't express how this enhances the music experience for me. Is there a
way to do this with your lyrics plugin? I understand that timing would
be an issue, but it would be great ( even if the timing of the lyrics
to the song can't be synced ) if there was an option to have the lyrics
just scroll while the song plays and if possible be able to use the play
and pause buttons to stop and start the lyrics.

Thanks again for your excellent work and I hope these suggestions don't
offend you.

the line endings don't matter on XP. You need to start SlimServer with

I hadn't bothered using this plugin before as I was pretty happy with
the default options (or thought I was!) but installed it to make better
use of the second screen on the transporter. No problems with that -
works fine - but now I'm trying it out on the SBs as well and I have a
couple of questions.

1) I can't get the new volume control to work - it just shows a blank
screen with "VOLUME" written at the top left. Do I need to do something
else? The font files are in the plugin directory and seem valid.
2) Is it possible to make the top line information scroll? I want to
have but a long album title (and I have
a lot of long ones!) squashes the progress bar to nothing, and in some
cases is truncated. Would it be possible to have the album title scroll
to give the things on the right hand side a little more breathing room?

Hi Michael,

Have you tried doing a HD install?
I can’t get the slimserver to start – I get:
cp: cannot stat /KNOPPIX/etc/.slimserver.pref: No such file or

and the the slimserver daemon exits.

I’ve tried in VMWare and on a real machine – the 1.8beta did not seem
to have this issue.

I’ve looked at my 1.8 install, and it does not have a /KNOPPIX folder /
mount (neither does the 1.8beta)

Any ideas to why this happens?

2006-09-30 Thread Michael Herger

Am I missing the point?

Or me?

MusicInfoSCR lets you display many different pieces of information not
available in the stock screensaver. This is displayed while the music is
playing.

The "Now Playing" mode should probable rather be called "current playlist"
mode: this is the mode where you can scroll through the playlist of queued
(and already played) songs. Here again you can display more information
than in the stock display.

Using the screensaver settings for the playlist mode seems redundant at
first. But the difference is that the screensaver will always display the
currently playing song, while in the playlist you can display other songs
as well.

If this didn't explain what you were missing, than I am missing your point
:-)

In fact PLAYTIME was broken for all display modes.

Of course you can't display a progress bar in huge mode - and your
code, as I've read it in past versions, recognizes that and refuses to
try.

Well spotted :-). Last night I removed that code as PLAYTIME now displays
the time only. PLAYTIME_PROGRESS will display that bar - though this is
really weird in large font mode. I still haven't found out what's wrong
there.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: Announce: WikiRadio Plugin

2006-09-30 Thread Triode

Following problems identified above, I've changed the way wiki radio
works in the attached version. Please try it out and see if it avoids
the problems you are seeing.

There are no new features, it should just get along better with changes
to slimserver.

NB - I've removed 6.3 and earlier support from this version as I can't
[won't] test this. If this is a problem then it could probably be put
back in if people are willing to test.

The change is not to create a local opml file from the wiki directory
and hand this to the server, rather than creating a datastructure which
may or may not work with the server. As the opml definition should be
static I hope this will work better.

Only note of warning is that, as with MyPicks, it defaults to needing
write access to your Playlist directory. If you want the opml file to
be written elsewhere, then edit the $filename param in the plugin to
specify where.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: Mypicks doesn't show up in plugins list

2006-09-30 Thread bpa

I tested the thse urls using Tune-in
http://www.dr.dk/netradio/Metafiler/asx/dr_p1_32.asx
http://www.asfradio.com/asfbb.asx
http://www.asfradio.com/asfbb.pls

They worked for me (although ASF ASX has some bandwidth issues -
choppy)

I am using 6.5.1 latest build with an SB3

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: Having real problems getting LastFM to connect consistently

2006-09-30 Thread Triode

Direct streaming looks to be disabled for sychronised players - so you
could try this to force it off.

Otherwise, edit Slim/Player/Protocols/HTTP.pm to make canDirectStream
return 0 for all cases. [as this is dynamically loaded it may work for
the slim.exe case on windows - I don't know]

2006-09-30 Thread James

Hi Richard,
unfortunately that seems to be exactly the same output as you get when
it works. Maybe you could try disabling direct streaming as this may
give more useful debug output? - however I don't really know how you do
this!

All stream from http://www.dr.dk/netradio/wmp.asp

No URLs (50+) from my collection of radio streams work.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: SlimScrobbler for SlimServer 6.5

2006-09-30 Thread James

I've released a new version of SlimScrobbler.

The main change in this version is the addition of a settings page to
the web interface for each player.

>From here you can change the player's account and disable scrobbling
from that player only.

available from
* SlimScrobbler CVS:
http://slimscrobbler.cvs.sourceforge.net/slimscrobbler/
* My web site: http://www.jamescraig.co.uk/SlimServer - in the LastFM
section

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: AlienBBC & 6.5 - No radio !

2006-09-30 Thread Mark Broadbent

Excellent - the simplest solutions are sometimes the best !
Completely unistalled and started again
Reinstalled slimserver 6.5 and the AlienBBC into the Plugins directory,
copied mplayer over to the \bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread directory (for
some reason it had auto installed into the plugins dir), restarted and
bingo !! McAffee still running and all's well.
Thanks for your help.
Mark
