[SlimDevices: Plugins] Moose not picking up artist tag?
I recently upgraded from Moose 0.41 to 0.42 and tonight to 0.44. When I upgraded fom 0.41 to 0.42, I deleted the .moo file and the thumbs folder so it would rescan the database and start fresh (ok, that may not have been the right way to do it). At any rate, when I upgraded to 0.42, Moose stopped picking up the artist tag, I am getting "!No Artist" for 99.5 percent of my albums (it picked up just a few artists plus the "Various Artists" entries). Same thing happened when I upgraded to 0.44 this evening. It is picking up the album title, just not the artist. I've tried having it recan the database, but the problem remains. Any ideas how to correct this? [SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: AlienBBC - Can't listen to non-default radio stations
I did an install of 6.5.0 and AlienBBC 1.06 into an XP Pro which had no security and no previous slimserver. I installed the SoftSqueeze (3.0) that came with 6.5.0. My log had timestamps so there is still something strange with your installation. I had terrible problem with SoftSqueeze 3./0 - Radio4 would & would not play erratically but everything was OK with my SB3 so I upgraded SoftSqueeze to 3.2.1 (http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/softsqueeze/softsqueeze_windows_3_2_1.exe?download) and things worked OK now. RTE data streams are very slow (mono & poor quality) 16-20kbps/sec so they take a long time to start as AlienBBC has a standard 128kbyte buffer - Radio Network timeout needs to be set to 40 to cope with RTE. A number of times 2fm would connect but just wouldn't stream using mplayer on a command lines - so I think RTE is overloaded. To listen to RTE1 you needs to create a sub-directory called "codecs" in the "MSWin32-x86-multi-thread" directory - if you use the default settings it would be C:\Program Files\SlimServer\server\Bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread\codecs Download the following zip file (http://www.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/releases/codecs/windows-essential-20060611.zip ) and copy the following 2 files from the zip file into the codecs directory: pncrtl.dll sipr3260.dll -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=28479 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] SoftSqueeze and VFD panels
Hiya folks, I'm currently building a Linux-based HTPC for my living room. It would be very handy to use the VFD panel on the front of the case as a poor man's SqueezeBox display. I wonder, therefore, if there is an easy way of directing the information displayed in SqueezeBox emulated by SoftSqueeze to the panel. The panel is basically the device file /dev/lcd0 (or somesuch). [SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: Announce: Plugins for rating and "smart" playlists using SQL
A new version (1.29) of the TrackStat plugin is now available, the new functionallity and changes are: - Corrected a lot of 6.5 compatibility problems in dynamic playlists. - Corrected some statistics which didn't show correct result. - Corrected so it does not crash when mixerlinks on year is added to slimserver 6.5 or 7.0 - Added some caching to improve performance when used with MusicInfoSCR 2.99 and later with whitelisted tags - Removed support for the optional simple queries since they didn't seem to work any faster - Imporoved performance when changing tracks in dynamic playlists. - Added new parameters to CLI interface to support percentage ratings. - Added support to not repeat already played tracks in dynamic playlists. - Added "All xxx" statistics and changed the TS button to use this instead of most played to avoid resorting when rating. - Added support for 10 scale ratings (disabled by default) (Some text layout errors may exist in the 10 scale rating mode) NOTE 1 This version does not seem to work correctly with Moose 0.44 due to the CLI interface changes. So if you are using the rating functionallity in Moose you may want to wait for a new Moose version before installing this version of TrackStat. NOTE 2 This version has only been tested towards slimserver 6.5 (It still might work with 6.3 and 6.2 but this has not been tested) The new version is available at my 'download page' (http://erland.homeip.net/download) as usual. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: AlienBBC - Can't listen to non-default radio stations
The behaviour is oddly inconsistent given that Lyric and RnaG are RealAudio the same as Radio Scotland whereas Denmark P1 and the GWR are WMA. Can you do a log with d_source enabled (server Settings/Debugging) when you select a station. The log window is opened by clicking in the hyperlinked word "here" in the Server Setting/Debugging window top LHS. The missing codec just supports an old RealAudio standard SIPR used by RTE1 live and NPR news. Loading it would not solve the main problem. I'll post a link and relevant install instructions later -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=28479 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: AlienBBC - Can't listen to non-default radio stations
Firstly, thanks for taking the time to help me. I am actually using SoftSqueeze v3.0 (as installed from the SlimServer installation), and not v2.0 as previously indicated. Sorry about that! I have tried quite a few stations now: Danmarks Radio P1, a couple of the Sveriges Radio stations, Radio Scotland, RNE Radio Nacional de Espana, some of the GWR Stations as well as the one given in the example in the Alien BBC FAQ: Radio Suisse Romand Couleur 3. None of these are working. On the RTE issue, I've now tried the rest of the stations as well, and it actually turns out that Lyric FM and RnaG are working fine, and so are the non-live streams. RTE 1 and 2fm are not working at all. So, am I to believe this is all down to a SqueezeBox issue, or could there be something else wrong? Is it possible to download and install the RTE-required coded from somewhere so I could see if that might fix the problems? OS: Win XP Pro with SP2 AlienBBC: v1.06 for SlimServer 6.5/7.0 Internet Radio Timeout: 30 secs Security Software: Norton Internet Security with personal firewall. I have tried disabling the firewall, but that doesn't appear to make any difference. In any case, mplayer.exe, slim.exe, socketwrapper.exe and now wmadec.exe are all granted access through the firewall. -- seagulls_united seagulls_united's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7899 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=28479 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: AlienBBC - Can't listen to non-default radio stations
RTE1 is an exception that need an additional codec loaded so it is not a good test. Have you tried any other RTE stations ? Virgin uses MP3 or WMA which would be handled differently than RealAudio so I suspect something to do with SoftSqueeze. Is there any reason why you using SoftSq 2.0 ? What OS are you using ? What version of AlienBBC have you installed ? Have you increased the Network timeout ? What security s/w are you using ? -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=28479 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

That output looks interesting - it looks like there's a track title containing a character that's upsetting that Perl module. I've not heard of that before, but 2.2.2 is the first version that's used 'Unidecode' and so it might be a more widespread problem. It's not too easy to debug it from there since it's crashing before it's output anything useful, unfortunately. I should be able to get to the bottom of it if I can see your database, however. Could you take a look at the following web page? That will give you some clues about extracting and packaging your database so that I could have a look: http://hickinbottom.demon.co.uk/lazysearch/wiki/ExportingYourDatabase That page also indicates how to get the database to me. If that's not possible then I could possibly make some modifications that would output some more debugging info, but it should be much easier for me to reproduce and fix if I can see the data that's causing the trouble. [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC - Can't listen to non-default radio stations
Hi, I'm a new slimserver user, and although I haven't yet received my SqueezeBox I have installed SoftSqueeze in order to test it out. I've installed AlienBBC, hoping that I'd be able to listen to variuos Real Audio internet radio stations. Everything seems to work fine as long as I'm using the default BBC stations, but when I add new stations I get no sound at all. I've added some non-default stations using "Server Settings/AlienBBC", including Virgin Radio and RTE. I've also added a new station manually by creating an .m3u file in a new AlienStream folder. Both types of stations show up in the SoftSqueeze application, but when I press Play I get no sound at all, after an initial "Checking Stream...". There's no error message to indicate what's going on. I've also tried replacing SocketWrapper.exe with Ian Cook's version, but to no avail. Does anybody know what's going on? Thanks in advance. -- seagulls_united seagulls_united's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7899 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=28479 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: Trackstat confused by ' in title
Well, with three people not seeing the ' problem I thought I'd better poke at it some more. The first thing I did was to backup and then remove all trackstat data - at which point one of my test albums starting showing the offending tracks twice!! Two other albums continued not to show the relevant tracks at all... Much more fiddling around followed. Eventually I did a full clear and rescan of the database, after which the problem has gone away. I have tried to repeat some of the things I did before to provoke the problem but so far have failed. I guess this will have to wait till I manage to recreate the problem! Thanks anyway.
