A friend worked with me on this and found that with Slimp3 and XM plugin you need to ensure you have the Windows Media Player version 9.0 installed to get the audio on slipm3 to work with XM radio. Also need to have the WMA file types selected on the slimp3 server and lame.exe in the bin folder of the slimserver folder. 1. If I navigate to any menu that has a list of albums, I can see the list with album artwork. If I click on an album, I see the songs on the album, but the artwork is never displayed. If I click on a song, I get the song info page, including the artwork. 2. For albums that are multi-disk, the disk number is not used in the sort ordering. i.e. songs are always ordered by song number, but should be discnumber, song number. 3. I have set up a library called "Podcasts". Within this, I have disabled song standard browse methods, and tried to create my own custom browse method called "Latest" that is a simple list of songs. I based this on "New albums", but customised the sql by removing the albums heirarchy. I associated this with the Podcasts library, but it only appears directly within the Custom Browse menu. If I try to edit my "Latest" custom browse menu, I only see the SQL. I can't find a way to stop it appearing in Custom Browse, and only appear under Libraries/Podcasts/Latest. Actually this custom browse menu may be useful for other reasons, so it's probably more correct to change the name to "Latest Songs", and then decide to associate with other libraries, and/or exist within Custom Browse. i.e. under Custom Browse, the name should be "Latest Songs", but under my Podcasts library, it makes more sense to name it "Recently added podcasts". [SlimDevices: Plugins] TrackStat not updating MusicIP Mixer info
Hi
I'm still trying to find the best combination for my needs.
Now I'm running SS 6.5.1 (01-06-2007 I think), latest TractStat and
DynamicPlayList, and MusicIP as a service ('headless').
If I don't get the stats bug between MM and SS again (wait and see),
this will be almost perfect, but for one little detail:
It seems that the ratings and playcounts/lastplaytime are not updated
'on the fly' in MM, as they should be by TrackStat.
May be this works only with the MM GUI running?
(BTW to check this, I open the GUI briefly)
I hope to get this to work, so the filters I set up in MM (and use to
generate mixes in SS) can deal with the newly played songs.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] SoftSqueeze problem
I'm trying to use SoftSqueeze 3.3 with my SlimServer 6.5.1 and OSX 10.4.8 and I keep getting te message : Connection Failed Please Check Server Settings. I'm not sure where and what to check but I'm able to run the SlimServer Konfabulator Widget and I'm able to run the Slim Server from my Safari Web Browser so I don't think I have a connection problem. Upgraded to 6.5.1 and now I get the following message from moose when trying to do a rescan: Problem connecting to MySQL: A request to send data was disallowed because the socket is not connected and (when sending on a datagram socket a sendto call) no address was supplied. Have I managed to break it somehow? Published menus will show up when creating a new menu and hitting the "Download more menus" link, if you registered it will show upp in a specific section with your name with all menus you have published. After this try to rate a track and then goto: http://localhost:9000/log.txt and post the log here. On the MM side the API must be started but besides this it should work. Taken from the moose setup page, http://www.rusticrhino.com/drlovegrove/setup.html: "By default, Slimserver 6.5 and on now limit database access to the local machine. If you run Moose on a different machine than the one that slimserver is running on, you need to load the file 'C:\Program Files\SlimServer\server\MySQL\my.tt' into a text editor and remove the line 'bind-address = 127.0.0.1'. Reboot (or kill the 'mysqld.exe' process and restart slimserver) for the change to take effect." These changes get overwritten when you upgrade and could cause the error you're seeing. it's text, so you can use wordpad on windows (notepad will possibly
mess up the line endings), or any favourite text editor that you
prefer.
You can also edit the AlarmPlugin.pm file with the same text editor, to
change the following lines for alllowing any number of options to be
chosen at the time:

There are two places to edit this kind of code, the above is for the

I don't know about books or podvast, not having any, but I originally set (or kept set) the 'disabled tracks' exclusion. I have 92 such tracks (not analyzed) The GUI is happy with this, and won't deal with them. But the server still sees 92 more tracks to validate, and if I ever add, say, another 10-songs-album and start validation, the server begins to validate all 102 songs ! (what's more not the latest added first) There's just no other solution for me that going through the whole process once. Well, that's currently my computer's occupation. So in the future the server will just validate new songs, and maybe I'll temporarily disable the reload while doing this. It's such a pity that MM's GUI and server mode wouldn't share those settings... Could you check if you have any *.ml.values.xml or *.ml.xml files for the old libraries you created when you had problems. If you do, remove them and restart slimserver. 3. If the above doesn't solve the problem, could you enable debugging in Custom Browse and click on the links and post the logfile. ' characters seems to work fine in my own setup.
