Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] MusicIP SS - start order

2007-02-12 Thread Diana

How odd! Don't you get the feeling that trouble-shooting this stuff is
sometimes worryingly close to magical ritual: 'I just turn round three
times, shake a chicken bone at it, and usually it just starts!'

I know I'm beginning to manifest all kinds of 'superstitious' behavior
about SB/SS/MIP (such as avoiding turning anything off once it's
working!).

Thanks for your support and interest.

Trying it in VMWare wouldn't be a test since it surely would work; I
don't get the problem until I burn a CD. I'm checking out
FreeNAS/SlimNAS instead... ;)

 FreeNAS/SlimNAS instead... ;)

The better choice if you want a slimserver anyway. SlimCD is rather for
demoing than to be used as a server.

Yes, my intention was mainly to see if my newly-built machine worked at
all - at the same time SlimCD seemed more mature than
FreeNAS/SlimNAS. Just made a quick installation of FreeNAS late
yesterday evening, just to where I could connect to the FreeNAS GUI
system from another machine.

Yeah...just checked it and the weather underground station I'm using is
 updating itself regularly.
I personally don't use wunderground but when I have some time I'll try
using your station and see if I can reproduce what you're experiencing.
There may have been a change in wunderground's HTML that is throwing
things off, but if that's the case I'm surprised no one else would have
reported it.

BTW- In Chicago it's been VERY cold... and my original parsing didn't
take into account negative temperatures/dew points/etc. It was a
simple fix to get working again that will be included in the next
version.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] AutoDisplay.pm

2007-02-12 Thread whdean

I have downloaded the AutoDisplay.pm plugin for SS 6.5+. I am running SS
6.5.1 on Win XP SR2.

I have attempted to place the plugin in it's own subdirectory labeled
Autodisplay and alternatively in the root plugin directory.

In both cases, it does not appear to have installed. I was able to
install several other plugins w/out a problem.

I have restarted SS, rescanned my library, etc, no no avail.

I'm sure I'm missing something obvious...

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Yes, I see how making the SS service dependent on the MIP service would
work for you. Glad to say that putting MIP in the Startup folder, and
starting SS at login seems to be working fine for my set up with just
the MIP GUI. Best wishes: D

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] announcing SaverSwitcher: plugin that cycles through screensavers

2007-02-12 Thread peterw

dazbarber;179401 Wrote:

However, I do like the ability to change screensavers by pressing a
button. Could it be made to allow the user to change to a nonactive
screensaver by pressing a button (ie by setting screensaver 2 to
'disable' as far as time length is concerned but still allowing a 2nd
screensaver name to be selected - only screensaver 1 would show
automatically but a button press would bring up screensaver 2)?

Daz, please check out version 1.8, which I just uploaded
http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SaverSwitcher.html

You can use 1 through 5 to choose any screensaver, whether there's
a real duration set or the saver has Manual for the duration (the
phrase Disabled doesn't make sense now). If you use the 1-5 buttons
to pick a particular saver, SaverSwitcher will use that saver until the
Squeezebox exits that screensaver mode**, though SaverSwitcher will
still flash back to the first saver (for however many seconds the first
saver is configured) when a new song starts playing. The 0 button only
cycles through active screensavers. More details on the web page.

This version also checks the client capabilities. So if you set When
Playing to automatically alternate between Now Playing, SuperDateTime,
and Analog VU and then play something on a Squeezebox1, SaverSwitcher
is smart enough to skip the Analog VU (since the SB1 has no visualizer
capability) and only use Now Playing and SuperDateTime for that player
-- while still using all three on SB2/SB3/SoftSqueeze/Transporter
units.

-Peter

** Caveats apply: the code still doesn't always recognize when a player
drops out of the screensaver. For instance, pause the music briefly and
you'll see a normal menu; press play and after the screensaver delay
you'll be back in the manually selected saver.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Moose 0.54

2007-02-12 Thread Yannzola

First off... I absolutely love Moose. Every update has been an
improvement. Kudos to the good doctor.

I do have a few suggestions: Would it be possible for the currently
playing track to auto scroll the playlist so that the currently
playing track is always displayed?

Would it be possible to collapse or dock the playlist somehow...
leaving only the album cover, track details, and controls? I realise
that I can do this manually by playing with the window size but
when the playlist is totally collapsed, the play controls dissapear
(rendering bug?).

Would it be possible to add more contextual commands to the right click
when on a track. Currently Refresh/Remove/Manage are displayed. How
about track info (basically the same info provided by the SS web UI
when a title is clicked) and play-hold plugin commands (for instance
to seed MusicIP Mixer). Does this make sense.

Sorry... one more. How about being able to view and =edit= ratings via
the toast pop up?

Phew. That's it for now...
:)

y.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Trackstat Export Help

2007-02-12 Thread kerry_nyc

Erland or others:
I'm trying to export my stats out trackstat to Itunes, but for some
reason they don't show up in Itunes.
In Trackstat config I have:
- Dynamic Integration: On
- Path: I have set to music/itunes/ (this is where I have the iTunes
Music Library.xml file)
- History File Directory: set correctly
- Music Directory: My Music\iTunes (my music is actually in folders
under My Music\ so not sure if this is set correctly)

It mentions that you need to run the perl script but I'm unclear how to
run it.

Any help appreciated.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] PublicRadioFan plugin download

2007-02-12 Thread Fletch

FWIW, I don't think the original author has been around for a long time.
For awhile at least. Kevin was keeping it updated for new slimserver
releases. In recent years, Tom Malsbury adopted it and made some minor
changes. The last I checked he was hosting his version 0.42b at
http://www.malsbury.net/~slim/. That page is now dead so the plugin
may be looking for a new owner once again.

If I can find a copy of that version I'll post it here.

I think it's something beyond weather underground. The date is still
saying Saturday, too, which was when I rebooted everything. The time is
right, but nothing else is updating. The player itself works fine - I
can play music, listen to internet radio, xm, etc., but the weather
plug-in doesn't seem to be updating. I'm at a loss as to what I should
play around with to test things out, though.

Thanks for all of your help. This is a great plug-in. Another reason
why I love the squeezebox so much. I just can't figure out why this
isn't updating.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Trackstat Export Help

I have a description on my wiki that describes how to setup the
TrackStat iTunes integration:
http://wiki.erland.homeip.net/index.php/Setup:_Rating_support_in_SlimServer

You are interested in the section Configuring iTunes as the rating
storage. It should show exactly how you setup this.

To run the perl script you will have to make sure you have perl
installed, if you are running iTunes on Windows this means that you
should install 'ActiveState perl'

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: InguzEQ / InguzDSP room correction

2007-02-12 Thread inguz

The plugin inserts itself in the processing path for all your players.
You can defeat this by not checking the InguzDSP options under Server
Settings - File Types, but it's not easy to tell which player you're
enabling or disabling from that screen.

To adjust the DSP gain (which cuts by default, to stop peaks from
clipping) you'll need to edit the configuration file. Details here:
