I don't have your current version of the plugin handy so I can't give
you the exact line, but look for a line like this:
Slim::Buttons::Common::pushModeLeft($client,
'PLUGIN.alarmactive.'.$alarmID);

If you comment that out by adding a # at the beginning of the line,
save it and restart the server then it should leave the
sever to handle the display as it normally would if it had nothing
whatsoever to do with an alarm. The problem is that you
would lose the 'snooze' function as this was a custom function of the
plugin's alarm display mode, as is the method of turning off.
What you get is just normal playback mode which will respond just as if
you had started playback from browsing. The auto off function should
still work,
as this is just setting a sleep time (as if you had pressed the sleep
button).

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver

2007-07-02 Thread darius

I've been having intermittent update problems tonight. Sometimes, my
squeezebox attempts to update the SuperDateTime weather, and ends up
with an empty screen -- nothing but the time. Other times, it pulls
the info down fine. I am refreshing every 5 minutes, and would say
that I am encountering the problem about 50% of the time.

Is there something wrong with weather.com today?

Thanks KDF - appreciate the reply.

I might have a look around in the plugin code and see if I can figure

Everyone will see the same thing. The alarm plugin predates the
screensavers, so it has it's own active display
for when the alarm triggers. It's not something I'm planning to
rewrite at this point since 6.5.x versions of slimserver
will be the last for this particular incarnation of the plugin.

It is completely rewritten for version 7. I've made some attempts to
rewrite it to use a screensaver option, but as my time is also
spent working on slimserver core code and increasing demands from the
day job, I cannot promise when this specific rewrite will happen
or even if it will.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Custom Skip plugin

2007-07-02 Thread erland

A new version (1.3.2) of the CustomSkip plugin is now available, there
is no new functionallity just an error correction:
- Removed non working mixer on Various Artist item
- Removed non working mixer icons from web interface
- Corrected Playlist and Not Playlist skipping filter that didn't work

NOTE 1
If used together with the Dynamic Playlist plugin you will need at
least version 1.12 of the Dynamic Playlist plugin.

NOTE 2
It has only been tested on slimserver 6.5.* and probably doesn't work
on any previous slimserver version.

The new version is available at my 'download page'
(http://erland.homeip.net/download) as usual.

The users guide is available on my 'wiki'

The current wish/todo list for new features in comming CustomSkip
releases can be found here:
http://erland.homeip.net/issuetracking/do/guest/home?application=slimserver-customskip

If anyone have more feature requests or if I have missed some feature
you already have requested which hasn't been implemented, please let me
know. Also please note that it is a wish list and not a release plan, so
some features on this list may never be implemented.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Advanced Alarm Plugin 1.143

2007-07-02 Thread SumnerBoy

I have started using this plugin as I like the ability to set the alarm
for all weekdays, rather than having to alter 5 different alarms, one
for each day. Having a "switch off after 'x' mins' is also great.

However I have noticed that when the alarm activates it seems to be
overriding or ignoring my screensaver. I like to have my RSS news feeds
scrolling across the screen in the morning when the alarm goes off - so
I can catch the latest news etc. However since switching to the
advanced alarm plugin all I get is the playlist details for the alarm -
even though the 'Now Playing' screensaver is set to RSS reader.

Anyone have the same problem? Any chance it could be rectified (if a
simple fix)?

Thanks to Kevin for a great plugin!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Alien BBC and Linkstation Mipsel

2007-07-02 Thread bpa

Good starting point is the linkstation wiki.

For development tools - look here
http://linkstationwiki.net/index.php?title=Precompiled_C_development_environment%2C_running_on_the_LS

For AlienBBC all you need is a working mplayer.
Basic steps:
1. Get a development environment running as per wiki.
2. Download mplayer 1.0rc1 tarball
3. run "configure" and then "make"

When a un-modified mplayer builds OK and can "play" a test file then
apply patches.

Thanx.

And... another one :
as, unlike iTunes, the MusicIP integration doesn't allow to "forget
about unchecked" songs, I put all my disabled songs (average quality
bootlegs, spoken tracks,...) in a playlist called 'Disabled' and
intended to set a filter to skip songs from that playlist, but I can't

I thought it may be because it's an imported playlist, and not one

It may turn out to be a bigger issue, as recently LastFM's own client
software moved over to an entirely new streaming infrastructure. There
is no documention on the new system available and I'm not sure if it
will be made available for others to use, as LastFM have said that the
old streaming system will continue to be available.

I am keeping an eye out for any information on the new streaming system

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Can't Change LastFM stations

2007-07-02 Thread smc2911

I suspect that this has something to do with recent changes/upgrades at
the last.fm end, but I've found that I can no longer change last.fm
stations or skip tracks. If I try, I get an "Update sent to LastFM"
message on the SB and logs indicate Response=OK but the change never
occurs. Instead I get periodic rebuffering of the stream and the
current song continues to play. If I stop the last.fm playback and play
some of my own music and then use the webUI to fire up a different
station that works OK.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Alien BBC and Linkstation Mipsel

2007-07-02 Thread bettley

Hi I Have installed Slimserver 6.3.1 on a linkstation II running
openlink 0.52. now i want to get Alien BBC running but from the threads
have seen that it is not so straightforward modifications to mplayer are
needed etc. As far as I can tell some of this has been done by flipflip.
Also I believe my linkstation does not support floating point so mods
are needed, being new to Linux in general talk of compiling and
patching tar files is a little alien, excuse the punn, to me. Could
anyone suggest:

1)a starting point
2) what files i might need
3)any software to allow compiling etc on main system I have downloaded
knoppix, Wil this be a good start?

Many thanks Mark

Yes, removing the line from the my.tt file allows any machine on your
