Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Custom Skip plugin

2007-11-18 Thread Phil Meyer
I know there are several users with the same issue, encoded surround
tracks.

I initially solved that problem by tagging all digital music with a Surround
Sound genre tag. I then set up a filter in Custom Skip to avoid playing
tracks with that genre.

However, when the option became available, I switched the CustomSkip filter to
skip tracks within my Surround Sound library (defined via MultiLibrary as all
songs within a certain folder), as this is more full-proof, should I forget to
add the Surround Sound genre tag to any tracks.

Your problem is probably due to the Windows Sounds and mixer setup.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Problem with Lazy Search beta for SC 7

2007-11-18 Thread strindberg

I have a small problem with Lazy Search. If I do a song search using the
latest Lazy Search and the latest build of SC7, getting some results, I
can't press right to access the information about a particular song.
This used to work in previous releases.

An example: I press search, and then search for loving her. I get two
results: He Stopped Loving Her Today and He Stopped Loving Her
Today. Now, I know one of these is by Johnny Cash, and the other is by
George Jones. If it's only one of these that I'm interested in, I used
to press right to get to the information about an item (i.e. the list
you get when you press right on Now Playing, presenting artist, file
format, size etc). With the new version, pressing right only takes me
to the original list, again and again.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Can't Install Last FM

2007-11-18 Thread James

Hi Peter,
the best thing to do is to stop SlimServer, then run slimserver.exe
from a command prompt, with the debug flags:
--d_startup --d_plugins
Then see if there are any references to the plugins in the output.

If there's no mention of LastFM at all, it's probably not installed
correctly.
In your SlimServer installation directory you should have directories
server/plugins/LastFM, and in LastFM there should be a Plugin.pm file?

[SlimDevices: Plugins] IR Blaster and PowerSwitch II compatibility

2007-11-18 Thread dma

I would like to use my squeezebox 3 to turn on/off my entire stereo (to
reduce standby power) but I would also like to send IR commands by
using IR blaster to my amplifier. Since both plugins use the tip (left
channel) of the 3.5mm connector it is not possible to use both at the
same time. Is it possible to modify the more simple PowerSwitch II
plugin in order to use ring (right channel)? Does the squeezebox
hw/firmware support this?

Yes, it will remove them just before they are about to be played. The
issue you can get is that the server isn't fast enough so is starts to
play a second of the track before it removes it. It works in my setup
but I know at least one user have had problems like this. You will need
to change a setting for Custom Skip in Server Settings that is named
ENABLE FILTERING ON ALL PLAYLISTS to on to make the skipping work
for Random Mix.

Once you have configured it through the web interface, it should just
work and you CLI application can be unchanged.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Waiting for LastFM track details...

2007-11-18 Thread Jeepie

Hi there,

The latest status if that I've upgraded to:

SqueezeCenter Version: 7.0 - 14805 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252

I reinstalled Alien BBC which I also luv. Then I reinstalled the
Last.fm Audioscrobbler for 7.0 (Squeeze Scrobbler) from
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=38845.

I unzipped this to C:\Program
Files\SqueezeCenter\server\Plugins\SqueezeScrobbler_v1.0. I see that
James had made some comments about the UI and that's fine.

Under Extras, I have Last.fm Audioscrobbler and under Settings I
entered my username and password as saved this.

Then I restarted by squeezecenter and tested.

I can see the plugin:

PLUGIN_LASTFM_MODULE_NAME.

Then I can browse neighbourhood and recommended as before.

Now when I choose recommended (which is what I so love about Last FM) I
get:

PLUGIN_LASTFM_WAIT indefinitely

Clicking the right button just loops round to the
PLUGIN_LASTFM_MODULE_NAME start menu.

Can anyone tell me what's supposed to happen? I tried going back to
where you enter your username and password and entered an incorrect
password and was informed this was incorrect by the web UI so I don't
think this is an issue.

Many thanks.

Cheers

Jeepie

alright. I went and reinstalled everything and have gotten further but
im not quite there as of yet. I usually have two programs using the
Line In on my sound card 24/7. I think this may have kept me from
letting SlimServer from grabbing the feed. So I closed ALL programs
that I have that use the Line In on my sound card and I restarted
SlimSever and now I see the following screen when I click on the Wave
Input link. From the image, you would think everything is ok, however
when I go to hit play it goes back to STOP and wont play anything.
Now...I have taking the feed URL and put it in WMP and WinAmp and they
both start playing as if the stream was LIVE however nothing is heard.
Maybe this is a little bit more helpful to some who may know how to
help me with this. I am new to all of this but really really need this
to work! Im trying to stream online my Fire Dept. using my Scanner.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Wave Input plugin v1.00

2007-11-18 Thread bpa

It is not clear whether you read the readme.txt files - it is in both
zip files v 1.01 and v1.02

Also this wavinput only works on some versions of Windows - XP works
but I think Vista doesn't.

The key text is

   4) On the Windows Sounds and Audio Devices Control Panel, select the
 Audio tab,
and set the desired audio input as the default device for Sound
 recording.

The audio input settings can vary according to your audio hardware and
so it is a matter of testing the options.

First you should test whether wavin2cmd is working before using it with
slimserver. The following is from memory so some details may not be
quite correct.
To check whether wavin2cmd is connected to sound.
1. Open a command prompt window.
2. CD to the Squeezecenter directory which has the wavin2cmd.exe
executable.
3. Get some audio out on PC sound system you want to capture
4. run the following command
wavin2cmd.exe -o audiocapture.wav
5. Wait for about one minute and then stop wavin2cmd.
6. Check the size of the file audiocapture.wav - it will be large if
it is capturing audio even if silence.
7. Play the file audiocapture.wav and check if you hear the audio
that was playing on the PC.
8. If you don't hear anything - change the input or recording levels in
the windows audio control panel and try steps 3-7 again.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Waiting for LastFM track details...

2007-11-18 Thread stroom

 Hi there,

The latest status if that I've upgraded to:

 SqueezeCenter Version: 7.0 - 14805 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252

I reinstalled Alien BBC which I also luv. Then I reinstalled the
Last.fm Audioscrobbler for 7.0 (Squeeze Scrobbler) from
 http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=38845.

 I unzipped this to C:\Program
 Files\SqueezeCenter\server\Plugins\SqueezeScrobbler_v1.0. I see that
James had made some comments about the UI and that's fine.

Under Extras, I have Last.fm Audioscrobbler and under Settings I
entered my username and password as saved this.

Then I restarted by squeezecenter and tested.

 I can see the plugin:

 PLUGIN_LASTFM_MODULE_NAME.

Then I can browse neighbourhood and recommended as before.

Now when I choose recommended (which is what I so love about Last FM) I
 get:

 PLUGIN_LASTFM_WAIT indefinitely

Clicking the right button just loops round to the
 PLUGIN_LASTFM_MODULE_NAME start menu.

Can anyone tell me what's supposed to happen? I tried going back to
where you enter your username and password and entered an incorrect
password and was informed this was incorrect by the web UI so I don't
 think this is an issue.

 Many thanks.

 Cheers

 Jeepie

I had exactly the same, I had copied
\SqueezeScrobbler_v1.0\SqueezeScrobbler in the Plugins directory,
giving the problems you report.
When I copied the \SqueezeScrobbler Plugins folder (one folder down
the tree), giving:
C:\Program Files\SqueezeCenter\server\Plugins\SqueezeScrobbler
then it worked fine.
However I had to uninstall squeezecenter and do a fresh reinstall to
repair it.
Then only fill in the lastfm username + password in the lastFM
/squeezescrobbler menu , not in lastfm /audioscrobbler

PS: using the lastfm plugin of slimserver 6.3.1 did not work all
weekend, the version on squeezecenter 7.0 did.
I hope this will be repaired since I cannot run SC7.0 on my DS101j.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Wave Input plugin v1.00

2007-11-18 Thread bpa

Don't try the wavin2cmd -o command - my recollection is wrong and this
hangs the PC.

I'll need to try a few options to check the right command to test.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Wave Input plugin v1.00

2007-11-18 Thread bpa

What is the CMD window because I think it is the same as Command
Prompt window. It should be a command line window usually with a C:\
prompt.

If so then Step 3 is a command to change directory to where
wavin2cmd.exe is saved. On a Slimserver 6.5 default this would be
cd \Program Files\SlimServer\server\Bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread

The correct command to use is
wavin2cmd.exe -w -o wavin:0 audiocapture.wav

It is possible you may have more than one possible input device so try
the following command to list possible devices to record.
wavin2cmd.exe -l

After recording the audiocapture.wav file, it can be played using
Windows Media Player.

 What do you all think?

It's Lua rather than Flash, but check out the forum on beta hardware
Jive remote (http://forums.slimdevices.com/forumdisplay.php?f=19 ). At
present the headphone jack isn't used, but I expect it's there for a
reason

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] IR Blaster and PowerSwitch II compatibility

2007-11-18 Thread peterw

If you search these forums, I believe someone built an AC relay that is
controlled by infrared. Combine that with good IR blaster transceiver
placement (and/or a multi-head IR blaster transceiver?) and you could
just use the IRBlaster plugin to do what you want.

Or you could use BottleRocket with X10 hardware, or BottleRocket beta
with a Windows system (not necessarily the SlimServer/SqueezeServer
host) and Insteon gear for capabilities like those provided by Amp
Switch/Power Switch.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Wave Input plugin v1.00

2007-11-18 Thread AlabamaWeather

The CMD Window is STARTRUNCMD
When I get the command window open I type in:
wavin2cmd.exe -w -o wavin:0
I get the same thing as the last time.
I have also tried:
wavin2cmd.exe -l
and I get the same thing.

Yes, my default wavin2cmd.exe location is:
C:\Program Files\SlimServer\server\Bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread

Where would audiocapture.wav file be located assuming I am doing the
CMD correctly?
