Hi Peter...

Not sure if something's up with the slim forums, or gmail, but none of
your forum posts have ever made it to my email subscription.. I just
spotted this one whilst browsing the forum the other day.. Maybe there
are issues with brackets in user-names ?

Anyhow..

There is one thing I personally would like to see be added to the library
view. That is an easy way to filter the lists by genre. I have a large
library with both a lot of classical and popular artists. When I am
browsing for a classical artist or album it would be much easier when
the fields are not cluttered with the other artists. My suggestion would
be to change the filter text to the left of the text input field into a button
with a drop down list similar to what you have in the cover chooser to
filter the artist and album fields by genre.

Yes, I think adding the genre menu to the library makes sense.. I'll see
what I can do..

In the meantime, the filter text-box at the top of the library page does
support genre-matching.. It's not fantastic, but, for example, if you type
in 'reggae', you should get all your reggae tagged albums.. It's not ideal
as any album titles with reggae in will match too..

Speaking about the cover chooser. I think I already mentioned that it
locks up the Nokia. It would be great if there would be an option in
the preferences or a commandline option to hide the tab so visitors
not accidentally hit that tab. (I have no idea why it locks up. I have set
it to not moving and just a few albums and they display fast. )

Bit worrying that it locks things up. In the Display menu, if you turn off
layout and moving, then turn on circles, does it still lock up ?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SqueezeScrobbler 1.0 for SqueezeCenter 7.0

2007-12-03 Thread sangiovanni

The squeezescrobbler plugins work well. Lastfm plays without
interruption. But when I sync my two squeezeboxes, lastfm only plays
one song on both machines, then stops. Any ideas whether this is a bug,
or whether I am doing something wrong?

In terms of configuration, i have two squeezebox 3's, slimserver
running through Mac OSX Leopard.

Thanks!

LastFM via SqueezeScrobbler is not expected to work on sync'd players.

I do not know if Andy plans to make it work in the official plugin?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] SSODS on a DS-107+ with new firmware

2007-12-03 Thread flipflip

Hi Anders

I'm not sure if SSODS 2.x still runs on 518 (I think it does). Just try
it, it shouldn't break anything.

Or you could try SSODS3 beta, it runs rather well here. Others have
some problems with the beta versions of Squeezecentre.
You'd probably want to use Slimserver 6.5.x, which should work with
SSODS 3, too.

Hi Peter,

This message wasnt forwarded to my email either.. Very strange..

Anyhow, I've just uploaded 0.61a, which is really a test build rather than
a full release.

I've reduced the mouse code calls for the coverchooser so it only searches
for new covers to highlight when the mouse moves - this could have been the
problem.

I've also added a new 'ccrate' command line parameter - full details on the
website. If you start moose up with /ccrate=500, it'll reduce the cpu load for
the cover chooser quite a bit, but make it a bit slower to use. If
that sorts it,
you'll need to experiment with lower numbers to see what works best..

Hope that helps..

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] For Browse Music Folder Lovers

There seems to be a bug in the album art links, so no album arts are
displayed.

The problem seems to be the %5C before folder.jpg which probably
should be a /

Would it be possible to use the same idea also for database based
structures, for example generating a static Genre based menu ?
Or is this limited to Browse Music Folder structures ?

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Playback control via iTunes?

I have a Transporter, and I use iTunes to manage my music library.

Is there a plugin that allows playback control via iTunes? I'd like to
be able to start, stop, find tracks, etc from my computer itself.

Does this exist? Thanks!

Odd. This may be a Vista issue - something to do with startup
permissions and adminsitartor settings - i'll need to read war and
peace that is the Vista issues sticky and check it out.

I've just fixed the problem by stopping and exiting both itunes and
slim and then restarting the slim tray tool and allowing your plugin to
open itunes and everything is OK.

If the live stations play OK but listen again stop - then it very
very likely the bandwidth option and you need to re-check the change.

Thanks very much for this suggestion. I've been having all sorts of

with Listen Again and it is all working really well again on my system

The main effect of not using the bandwidth option is that Listen
again streams will take about 15 secs of 2-3 secs to start or restart
after a rew/ffwd.
