Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Auto Display for v.7
There was a discussion of that over in the developers forum a while back, but it doesn't look like much has changed. One thing that really stands out as weird are these two lines: Code: 2586 01-30-08 23:36 lib/AutoDisplay/PlayerSettings.pm 2594 01-30-08 23:36 lib/Plugins/AutoDisplay/PlayerSettings.pm It seems to be picking up two separate copies of the PlayerSettings.pm file, which only differ by a comment line inserted at the start of the file (I believe it's specifying a path for debugging). I'm fairly certain I'm using the tool correctly. It builds a .par file which seem to work, and any other permutations I've tried fail. The extra stuff just appears to be annoying. Hopefully the SlimDevices folks will get to this once SC7 goes gold. I've looked at this a bit, it appears to me that pp is somehow not correctly processing the exclude list. Don't know if it's my version of pp (stock for Fedora 7, 0.976), or something weird. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Latest KDE4 upgrade and alien bbc
This sounds like a kde4 problem not an AlienBBC problem as all AlienBBC requires is an installation of mplayer. I don't know any specifics about kmplayer but most of the GUIs for mplayer (e.g. Windows, Mac, X) are separate applications and there is a copy of command line mplayer buried a few directories down. If you can locate that mplayer then code can be added to mplayer.sh similar to the Mac installation of mplayer. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=43098 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC R2 Replay mono?
Braidy, Please give details such as SS version, OSX version, mplayer version. Whitman Your mplayer is very old (Nov 2006) and if it came from AlienBBC sites, it was built when Intel CPU just appeared and there was no other build for Intel/OSX 10.4 systems. Although there are no other complaints and many people are using this build - there may be some issue with recent OSX. The preferred solution for AlienBBC 2.0 and SC 7.0 is to use the mplayer from www.mplayerhq.hu and there is an updated mplayer.sh to simplify the Mac installation. You could try this but remember if you don't succeed and you have no backup - AlienBBC will stop working. If you install the mplayer from mplayerhq using the standard mplayerhq instructions you MUST replace the mplayer.sh as AlienBBC will stop working unless this is done. 1. Stop Slimserver 2. Download MPlayer for OS X from: http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/dload.html. Install the universal package accepting the default file locations. 3. Make a note of the owner and group userid and permission of your current mplayer.sh file. 4.Save a copy of your mplayer.sh in case you need to revert 5. Download the attachd mplayer.sh.txt file and save in a temporary location. 6. Replace your mplayer.sh by the downloaded file. renaming and changing permission as necessary. 7. Start SS, check RTSP filetype entries. If RTSP entries are enabled, test a BBC program. +---+ |Filename: mplayer.sh.txt | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4246| +---+ -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=43016 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

The problem is that the latest KDE4 upgrade forced mplayer to be removed. With the upgrade in place I was unable to reinstall mplayer using adept. No doubt mplayer could be installed manually, my point being that this would be a retrograde step. i am trying to flag this problem because something will have to change to get the two working together. Still now sure what the problemn is. It sounds like the mplayer install is failing. > > Alienbbc already looks for mplayer in several places. > This is not quite right. SC looks for mplayer.sh in many places. Then mplayer.sh (except if it is not an OSX installation mplayer.sh) will just use the mplayer that is on the path. So for mplayer to work on kde4 - all you need is an mplayer that works and that is on the path. Hi Bpa, I don't think you are understanding what the kubuntu situation is. Alien was bust because today's kde4 upgrades are not compatible with the kde3 structure. I have just trashed all kde4 components changed the repositories by unchecking the "proposed" box. Reinstalled mplayer using adept and alien works again. I would guess that the "proposed" ie 8.10 kubuntu isn't compatible with alienbbc. why should I have to mess with where mplayer is installed to get it working? The present situation is that kde is compatible with alienbbc which surely is good for those kde users who have even less knowledge than me. Surely the best way to deal with this problem is for the alien bbc folks to find out where mplayer or kmplayer is in kubuntu 8.10n and then recode alienbbc to also look for mplayer in the new position. Alienbbc already looks for mplayer in several places. Cheers, Mike. -- mudlark SB3>CyrusDACX>PreXvs>NAP140+260A>KEFiQ7, Avondale and Naim cable, Kubuntu Gusty Gibbon server, linkstation for storage. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Alien BBC plugin - playing RA files
The space in a filename is a known issue and can be fixed but I think (not sure) it has a side effect if you are using AlienBBC to play WMA file/streams on Softsqueeze. As AlienBBC is intended to be use to play streams, it works as designed. For Moose to talk to the aliens, you need SC7 and Alien 2.0 I think.. Not sure the older versions support the new CLI support.. Works great when it works ! :-) > p.s. I love Moose! What's the cheapest wi-fi handheld device anyone's > got it running on? It should work with Nokia N770's, which are pretty cheap these days.. You need a spare dedicated PC (or virtual PC) though dont forget.. If you can grab a cheap N800 or N810, that might be a faster solution.. -- - Dr Lovegrove http://www.rusticrhino.com/drlovegrove http://groups.google.com/group/moosenews ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] announcing SaverSwitcher: plugin that cycles through screensavers
Sorry, I'm not a developer but while looking at your SyncOptions plugin I discovered this other gem and this led me to have a look at all your work on plugins. What's to say... you seem to be practically reading my mind in all instances. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. -- gorman gorman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=32230 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC R2 Replay mono?
Basically download a new version (probably 1.0rc2) of mplayer from www.mplayerhq.hu and install it. However the installation process can vary depending on you SS/SC version and your System/OSX version. What system & version of OSX have you got ? What version of SS have you installed ? Where did you get the current version of mplayer as you need to avoid it (it may be mirrored n different sites). -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=43016 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
[SlimDevices: Plugins] Can Moose see AlienBBC?
Any idea how one accesses AlienBBC with Moose? I can't seem to find AlienBBC under the Moose radio tree in the Library pane. But SoftSqueeze 3.4 does see it (under Internet radio). I've got moose 0.64d running with SoftSqueeze 3.4 and SlimServer 6.5.5 - 16955 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252. p.s. I love Moose!
