Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Biography and Album Review plugins fail to install correctly on latest 7.0.1
mherger;294566 Wrote: Hmm... odd looking. Did you verify permissions on those folders/files? Michael Five minutes before you wrote this I deleted the plugin folders to to try a test using AstroInfo plugin as a control. I uninstalled all three plugins, restarted SC, deleted the three plugin folders, restarted SC. AstroInfo was removed correctly and not listed in Plugins/Settings but both Biography and ArtistInfo then became listed as: PLUGIN_ALBUMREVIEWandPLUGIN_BIOGRAPHY I downloaded all three plugins afresh and placed the folders in the Plugins directory (Biography-2.4.99.zip Beta from your web site and AlbumReview from this post: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showpost.php?p=275030postcount=31). Then restarted SlimCenter 7.0.1, enabled them in Plugins/Settings (noting that your plugins were now listed correctly) and restarted SC again. AstroInfo plugin worked fine. Still both your plugins did not work and clicking on the individual plugins Settings link gave me a 404 error. The permissionon all three plugin folders appeared to be the same. As I have already re-installed SC 7.0.1 but this problem persists so is it possible there is something in my preferences files causing this? I removed the preferences file for both of your plugins from Windows XPs Documents Settings, expecting them to be regenerated when I restarted SlimCenter, but they weren't so I put them back. Is there something in my main prefernces files I might edit/look at? I don't really want to do a totally fresh install of SC7.0.1 (inc. preferences) and loose all my settings (or wait 2.5 hours for my cache to regenerate, but maybe deleting this would be unneccesary). I'm quite stumped. BTW. I ran the dos dir /s command on all three plugin folders and the results were consistent across all three (i.e. as above). It seems that there is nothing out of the ordinary wih the output above and that that is just how the command output is supposed to look. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SqueezeScrobbler 1.0 forSqueezeCenter 7.0
Is it possible to directly enter a tag or an artist as in the Flash last.fm interface directly from the infrared remote? Sorry, it's not implemented currently. It's been requested a couple of times, but it would be quite a significant change and I am not really spending much time on the plugin any more given the 'impending' release of the official LastFM plugin. Playing Last.fm via Squeezenetwork is not yet implemented (although has been planned for a while and is actively being worked on). Loads of earlier threads about this if you want the full details. You should be able to scrobble from Squeezenetwork using the built-in Last.fm Audioscrobbler plugin (assuming that the relevant info is available on the track you're listening too). -- Siduhe Siduhe's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=723 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=46590 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: Lyrics Version 1.0 - with karaoke!
Hi. I've done an adaptation to the lyrics HTML code to support iPeng. It does two things: - It will look nice when displayed under the Extras menu. - It now supports ajaxUpdate, which means it can be displayed on the NowPlaying screen, automatically updated to the current track. The usual question: Do you want me to distribute the iPeng specific code with my plugin (as I do already do for SqueeezeScrobbler, for example) or do you want to distribute this with your plugin (as Michael is doing it for Biography and Album Browse)? The tradeoff is: if I am doing this, whatever you change will probably not work with iPeng from the beginning (and it will look like I do it); if you are distributing it, you will also have to maintain the code. That said, I belive the changes are small enough that probably it would even be possible to have common code. Another thing: How does that karaoke mode work on the SBC, I mean, how's the logic behind it, are there elapsed seconds tags for each line or something? And how do I access this information? I would like to see this supported for iPeng, too. No problem - didn't mean to imply you should have searched first, just that there is quite a bit of info out there already. Key thing to keep your eye on is 'this' (http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=4661) bug report which will get closed out when SN support is implemented. Andyg is the developer who's working on the project, but it's slow work. Good point - however the estirling ones say they have a dedicated email address so I'd imagine they would display as soon as they received it - unless of course the address is on their server and the frame has to periodically poll it. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Idea for a plugin - 'Now Playing' to wifi picture frame
I think it is a great idea. Instead of pushing to the frame, one workaround would be to set an photo album of only 2 pictures and set the slide show time to the shortest. The plugin just need to keep updating the 2 pictures. The photo frame would then get it automatically. Even cooler would be for the plugin to change the background of the picture every so often to replace the slide show function. -- Honva Honva's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14948 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=46617 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

The plugin might not even have to update anything -- plugins can deliver web content with URLs like http://yourserver:9000/plugins/PicFrame/image1.jpeg If the frame were well-designed, it would use respect HTTP cache-control, if-modified-since, etag, etc. headers and would only need to pull a new image when the song changed. A couple sites have suggested the GeCube Genie PC (http://www.mobilemag.com/content/100/334/C14763/) will only cost about $250 USD. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Where to find info about remote control reconfiguration for a plugin?
I am still new to plugin writing. Right now most information how things are to be done have been derived from other people plugins. But I did not find a working solution for changing of remote control buttons in a custom plugin. I tried to figure out how the LazySearch works, but it is too complex for the thing that I need to be done. Basically I need to change the hold x button (don't really care which button some button that has nothing on the hold functionality maybe sleep) behavior to call one function in my plugin. This call should not change any state, the function would just execute some plugin specifics use $client-showBriefly() and then the user should be back to what he was doing. This call must work even when the user is in a different context, for this application normally the Now Playing context. Any help about how to change the buttons from within a Plugin.pm file are highly appreciated. It would be great to enable/disable this functionality via the Plugin webpage, so a way to undo the reconfiguration would be great too!
