Does this mean this plugin is useless for me to get local weather reports outside the USA?No - it works in other countries too :) The registration screen asks for a US zip code or City name. Put the attached .ipeng.xml file (unzipped) into the Plugins/iPeng/Configuration directory and reload the NowPlaying screen (no server or plugin restarting needed) should show up then... If it doesn't go to the settings-plugin-iPeng page, select activate commands and the just press confirm. But it should work without. You aren't using IE, are you? Regarding the Main menu: to make it show up there, there's two alternatives: a) I could hard-code it in the Extras menu. Only a single line of code. b) You could register the plugin as described in http://penguinlovesmusic.de/?page_id=179 It's just a single line of code: Slim::Web::Pages-addPageLinks(pluginsiPeng, { $name = $url }); next to the line you should already have: Slim::Web::Pages-addPageLinks(plugins, { $name = $url }); That's what Erland's and Michael's plugins do. The reason is, most plugins don't render well on iPeng if not adapted, especially ones that don't use the contentcontainer so they are disabled by default until they are tested to work. If you want a hardcoded iPeng version to look at, I can't just modify what is there because I already made a bunch of other changes for 0.4.1 on the main menu, you could get the current state through svn checkout http://ipeng.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/plugin ipeng-read-only It's quite stable. [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC not playing - mplayer binary not found??
Hello, I'm having a variant on a problem a few others have reported - that I've installed the AlienBBC plugin for SqueezeCenter Version: 7.0 - 17793 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252 but it connects to the BBC but doesn't play any sound. Other radio stations to play, but AlienBBC won't play any station at all. On the earlier version of Slimserver, AlienBBC worked without any problem at all. I've pasted the url that the logs reported as not playing and the url loads fine into RealPlayer and plays. So, following advice in another thread I changed the alien-custom.conf file setting to -quiet from -really-quiet and enabled debug logging on the server. Looking at the logs the most obvious error is reported as: Slim::Player::TranscodingHelper::checkBin (148) Found command: [mplayer] -quiet -vc null -vo null -bandwidth 1000 -cache 128 -af volume=0,resample=44100:0:1,channels=2 -ao pcm:nowaveheader:file=#PIPE# $FILE$ Slim::Player::TranscodingHelper::checkBin (171)couldn't find binary for: mplayer It then goes on to report another error: (I've snipped out the date and time) Slim::Player::TranscodingHelper::getConvertCommand (297) Error: Didn't find any command matches for type: rtsp format: mp3 Plugins::Alien::RTSP::new (56) Couldn't find conversion command for rtsp://rmlive.bbc.co.uk/bbc-rbs/rmlive/ev7/live24/radio3/live/r3_dsat_g2.ra?BBC-UID=34f891d4e63f6d2c4d319987b070aea2774a33b8304011c4c47f263f42948cdbSSO2-UID= Slim::Player::Source::errorOpening (1609) Error: While opening current track, so mark it as already played! Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC not playing - mplayer binary not found??
That's precisely what I had done, I had just returned to the AlienBBC site to re-download and install and noticed the exe that installed mplayer. I had previously done an install on linux (another story) and had chosen the zip file for Windows, as I had done for Linux. And that was my problem, as you say. Sorry to have wasted your time, and thanks for the reminder. It works now. Now if I could just get it to work on my Linux/Ubuntu box I'd be very happy. regards, Rob -- RobD RobD's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=8709 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=47013 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

I'm not even sure the problem is with AlienBBC because sometimes SqueezeCenter itself crashes before then. There have been times when SqueezeCenter has loaded and does play radio and library but never AlienBBC, but the error above does suggest the problem is deeper. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC not playing - mplayer binary not found??
I found the server preferences file and changed it to DEBUG, the server starts without any trouble but continues to report that it can't find the mDNSResponderPosix binary and aborts. So, I've uninstalled, purged and reinstalled from the Debian package (I'm using Ubuntu Hardy Heron) and at least now it starts, and AlienBBC works. It still reports the mDNSResponderPosix error but it doesn't seem to matter. So, success of sorts. Do you happen to know that the mDNSResponderPosix does, it appears from other threads it's a Apple something to discover services, is it needed do you know? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Biography and Album Review prevent scanning
exile;297263 Wrote: perhaps updating my OS to leaopard will also solve the problem I've been having with scanning (laid out in detail in a previous thread. I am not sure if upgrading to Leopard in itself cured the problem - I think it may have just been that upgrading was the only way to negate a problem that had developed deep in the OS. Reinstalling 10.4 using the Combo updater didn't help, but maybe an archive and install reinstall of 10.4 may also have worked. It still freaks me out though, that the OS took offence to only Michael's plugins. Must just be an unlucky combination of a deep OS problem, and something (however tiny and otherwise harmless) bit of code in the plugins. Anyway, I am happy to have a functioning SC again - and the bio and review plugins are fantastic - esp on an iPod Touch. -- snoogly snoogly's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9155 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=46967 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

OK, I've upgraded to 7.0.1 Still no Alien BBC. It just keeps saying Connecting, and flicking back to this. What now haooens is that I cannot use the remote controller to go to any other menu, as it keeps pinging back to the connecting screen for Alien BBC. I have to go through the squeezecenter GUI on my Mac. I've just had the email too. It's my favourite screensaver and my Squeezebox sits there displaying the weather most of the time (unless I'm listening to music). What are the odds that the screensaver can (or will) be updated to connect to another service. Then again, do you think we really will lose the service on May 6th? [SlimDevices: Plugins] Custom Browse with Music IP
I've just installed the Custom Browse plugin, and really like the ability to tweak menu structures. One snag though - the ability to create a Music IP mix by pressing and holding 'play' on the remote doesn't work when I access a track via the Custom Browse menu structure. And on the SqueezeCenter web interface, the 'M' Music IP icon doesn't appear at track level, only at genre and album level. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: New WeatherTime Screensaver adds graphical forecasts
Do you think we should all call them and say that we are using this to access their fine weather data from 20 feet away from our computer. If this is a real problem to them we'll stop and completely end all use of weather.com and any weather.com advertiser's products. Wunderground is a much better service anyway. A lot of people that use this, will at times want to know more about the weather and use their computer to find out, thus exposing themselves to the advertisements at the site. This is really dumb on their part. Someone that doesn't like the Squeezebox must have let them know and acted like we could use it for commercial gain. Thats the only thing that should make them react this way. -- Nonreality *-If the rule you followed brought you to this, what good is the rule.-* Nonreality's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15723 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=21989 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: InguzEQ / InguzDSP room correction
Yes, several times. I'm just very disappointed that Inguz hasn't been around to offer any suggestions or customer help; all I got was a recommendation to check those things I'd already stated in the previous posts. I've done that, a few times! Nothing. To me it seems files are being loaded into incorrect or redundant folders, and the executables can't find them. The error we both get 404 Not Found: settings\plugins\InguzEQ\index.html seems to clearly indicate that it's looking in a folder who's hierarchy is nowhere near what it is in my install. My index.html does indeed exist but is buried nine folders deep in another folder called C:Program Files\Squeeze Center\Server\plugins\InguzEQ\HTML\EN\plugins\InguzEQ\index.html. Furthermore I can't even see AlienBBC on either my SB3 or the Duet controller.
