[SlimDevices: Plugins] Dynamic Playlist problem
Hi I'm running squeezecenter 7.0.1 on Ubuntu. Works great. After that I installed the dynamic playlist, sql playlist and trackstat plugins. They all seem to work except for the dynamic playlist plugin. After I create a sql playlist it appears in the dynamic playlist menu. If I then start the playlist it shows no items. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] CustomBrowse, adding standard SC menus?
Thanks, Erland. I totally agree with you that it's strange to put e.g. Settings inside CustomBrowse. The shameful truth is that I am actually trying to use CustomBrowse for something that it was not intended for; a general tool for reorganizing the standard menu items. So what I'm really looking for is sort of a CustomMenus plugin (but as far as I know no such exists). The reason for this wish is: a) Having many menu items on the top level is messy in my opinion. b) Some of the standard menus include menu items that I never use, for instance Alarm and Volume under Settings. If we combine a and b, I'm really asking Santa for a menu editor in which it is possible to 1)create your own menus and submenus (tree), 2)either pick single standard menu items (e.g. Synchronizing) to put inside your own menus, or pick complete standard menus (e.g. Settings) and disable desired submenu items inside those (e.g. Volume). PS. Please be assured that I really love CustomBrowse as it is, and I have for instance made my own menu item for browsing audio book Authors :-) So I absolutely don't expect you or CustomBrowse to cover my strange wish above! [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Album Catalog Creator 1.0
I've just posted the 1.0 release of Album Catalog Creator (ACC). I own great thanks to the many users who helped testing while in beta phase which resulted a large forum thread (general section). What is ACC? Basically its not a plugin. It is an application which allows you to create a .HTML based catalog of your music collection for print purposes. ACC accesses the SqueezeCenter database and generates a nice formatted html catalog of the data. There are quiet a few options and filters for personal preferences. ACC is a .hta application written in VBScript. This requires Windows to execute ACC. ACC can however access a remote Windows or Linux server running SqueezeCenter. For more information see http://www.vanholt.nl/acc/acc.htm and especially the HELP included in ACC as it addresses most common questions and issues. Here's the other thing I eventually figured out since I never got a reply to my question. The only way you will be able to select XM stations from the controller is to first add them to favorites. That fact I was able to get from the forums. How to add to favorites was the trick. To create a favorite for XM, the format is xmradio://54 (for Lucy). You will need to create a favorite for every channel you want to be able to select from the controller. Hope that helps. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Playlist Butler
While I haven't been in the SqueezeCenter world very long, I have been doing my best to catch up. After having a great experience with my first Duet purchase, I've since gone on to buy three more receivers and another controller. After getting so much great advice and help on these forums, I thought I'd say 'thanks' by giving back something. Playlist Butler is a Windows app that you run on your SqueezeCenter machine and once setup correctly, it will monitor your playlists directory for new or modified playlists -- playlists you've presumably saved or exported from your favorite desktop music player/manager. (In my case, this is J River Media Center) When it finds a new or changed playlist, Playlist Butler will open the playlist and perform any path substitution you specify and update the playlist file. (In my case, this transforms paths from ones that the desktop machine understands, to paths that SqueezeCenter understands) And finally, you can set up a 'dummy' playlist name that when saved to the playlist directory, will cause Playlist Butler to trigger a SqueezeCenter new Music Scan. This way, I can save a bunch of playlists from my desktop and trigger a SqueezeCenter rescan... all from within Media Center (or whatever favorite app you have). More information and link to download: http://ripbar.com/PlaylistButler Should you decide to try it out, please let me know what you think. all suggestions for improvement are welcome too. Thanks - so is the search behaviour that I'm seeing a limitation of the CLI interface? (i.e. the inability to use search from the beginning logic)? I'd have to take a look at the code to be sure. But imho this should work as described with that setting. As the Controller is using the same interface, I'd expect it to be ok, or we would see many more complaints Michael -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
