Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SqueezeScrobbler 1.0 for SqueezeCenter 7.0

2008-06-13 Thread James

gwnzen, I have no idea what's wrong there.
Best thing is to check the server log to see if the plugins are even
mentioned.
You might want to start a new thread making it clear that no plugins
are working for you, as more people will look at that.

jjsqueeze, I did a test last night and changing stations works fine on
my Controller and SqueezeCentre 7.0.2. When I press play on the new
station, playback stops immediately and the new station starts a moment
later.
Again, I think I'd need to see the whole log to work out what's wrong.
Could you attach it in a zip file?

thanks

James

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Compatibility of Plugins with v7.1 nightly

2008-06-13 Thread Michael Herger
A switch in the settings pages to ignore maxVersion would be great. In
this case each plugin developer can decide what to support but still
let the user take the chance and ignore it and run it anyway.

A user who knows better than the plugin author can still edit the
install.xml file. The whole idea of this check is to reduce calls of users
who have their SC crash because they're running incompatible plugins.
People should know what they're doing. Then it's simple enough to edit a
text file.

I believe there's a link to the log in the web interface (in the settings
page?),
or you could try searching the forum or wiki for details on it's location in
the filesystem.
I know it's moved so I'm not really sure of the definitive location.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: New WeatherTime Screensaver adds graphical forecasts

2008-06-13 Thread Aussiegus70

Hi I'm new to the forum, this is my 1st post.
I've downloaded the plugin v. 1.9.5, unzipped it in the Plugins
folder, restarted Slimserver (which is v 6.5.4 BTW) but it doesn't show
the plugin in the settings.
If this is a known problem, well, I apologize.
I've been trying to go through the 3d but couldn't find relevant info
(it's a pretty big 3d too). Any help out there ? Cheers

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC and mplayer on Linkstation Pro

2008-06-13 Thread jwepugh

sebbe and bpa

I've been laying low a while waiting for developments. I also managed
to crash my box and had to do a complete reinstall

I also managed to build what appears to be a fully functional mplayer
starting with the [MPlayer-1.0rc2] tarball and hand applying the
*/flip/*
modifications from the stdout mod filesto the two relevant files
before compiling. I compiled the full monty this time not a minimalist
option.

It compiled fine and I was able to make and make install

bpa

I was able to download the test prayer for today in about 30 sec and
it plays back fine. I deduce from this that I may not need to bother
with compiling in the cook fixed point patches as well

Sadly I'm still not getting any sound from my Squeezebox from an Alien
BBC live stream though and I'm currently checking my
custom-convert.conf file to see if I can find my mistake.

sebbe

I would appreciate a copy of your custom-convert.conf file.

Having compiled the stdout mods into the main mplayer I'm assuming one
can leave the mplayer.sh reference in the conf file and just change
the output path to - from the /fd/3

Did you do any other edits to custom-convert.conf

Also which version of Squeezecenter are you running?

I will post some logs later once I've given it more thorough scrutiny
as I don't want to waste your time if I can crack it.

I'd be happy to upload my compiled mplayer if someone can tell me where
to

I'll try to remember to add a playlist type for this in a future
release, at the moment you will get number of playlists that works like
this in the Not Recently Played group under Dynamic Playlists if you
have the TrackStat plugin installed.

There is an option in the TrackStat settings where you can control how
many days back that is considered to be recently.

@Michael

Just an idea to keep it simpel for non PC geeks.

1. In SC settings/plugins add checkbox to every incompatible plugin to
load without valid version number.

2. In the startmenu add an entry to start SC without any plugins, just
in case of trouble. Point at this option at 1.

As an enthusiastic user, I have to report a problem. My setup is at

(after an upgrade to SqueezeCenter 7) Squeezecenter will not start
with the following message in the log file:
[08-06-12 21:45:10.1230] Slim::Display::Lib::Fonts::parseFont (657)
Warning: Can't use an undefined value as an ARRAY reference at

2008-06-12 21:45:13 SqueezeCenter died. Restarting.

Removing SDT lets SC7 start flawlessly. Could this be a problem with
the SDT 'fonts?
Any help appreciated. Seems to me that this happened when I updated to
SC 7.0.1, but I am not sure..

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce]: iPeng 0.4 iPhone / iTouch plugin

2008-06-13 Thread PRGeno

Pippen,

OK, I've benn playing witht he iTouch/iPebg combo enough to learn the
trends and idiosyncracies.

I can provide some real ffedback now, and have really only two issues
with iPeng/Safari.

First, it seems quite often Safari never finishes loading iPeng pages.
I need to hit some area of the screen,. or the stop button to get Safari
to finish loading the page. If I don't do so before trying to hit a
choice on screen, invariably the choice is ofset by one button, with
unintended actions taking place. I think this issue is what make iPeng
seem slow, when I believe it really isn't. If Safari would just stop
acting like the page hasn't been loaded, iPeng would seem faster.

Second, building a current playlist is hit and miss. Many times trying
to add somthing to an active playlist, cleas the paylist and starts
playing a song which I was trying to add to the current playlist. Very
frustrating when the playlist is fairly large and gets fluched away.
Also it seems occasionally an entire album gets added when only a song
was chosen to be added.

Other than that, I'm really getting to like iPeng. Some minor tweaks
toward making it more robust, and better perfoming, and I believe you
will have created the perfect compliment to SqueezeStuff. Thanks again
for your efforts.
