[SlimDevices: Plugins] How does trackstat handle retagging of music files?
I have a relatively big music collection and since a month or so I am using trackstat to keep track of ratings, play counts etc. Now I am wondering how 'sensitive' trackstat is for changing tags of music files. Does it give unique ID's to mp3 according to file length, bitrate etc so it recognizes teh file when for example the album name gets renamed? Or is all trackstat info lost when the tag is changed? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] How does trackstat handle retagging of music files?
As long as the file path to the song(s) is the same you can change the tags all you want. The trackstat data contains the file path, which you can see yourself by for example taking a look at the backup file from trackstat. -- wiped Squeezebox 3 - SC7 3 songs (FLAC and MP3) Happy Ipod Touch and iPeng user! wiped's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1542 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51522 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

I think SS starts out with the same screensaver in each slot, e.g. When Off has Date and Time in every slot, with some duration specified for #1 but the rest manual; When Playing has Now Playing in all slots, etc. You only need to concern yourself with the screensavers that have specific durations, and those you intend to use with button control. For instance, I don't use a When Idle screensaver, so on my system I don't bother with the SS slots for that. I've restarted it but no matter what I do it doesn't show any screensavers in the slots. Maybe you could run me through it from the beginning if you have time. In the main player menu what should I have set for the 3 types of screensavers? I've put your's for all 3 and that didn't work and I've picked 3 others and that didn't work either. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Beta version of SvrPowerControl
Thanks for the advice. Ok, if #1 == yes, then what is the appropriate way to cite his copyright in this work? Adrian's final Feb. 2007 plugin was for Slimserver 6.5.1 and he hasn't updated it since. His code weighed in at about 5k. My current version weighs in at 82k (though a little less than half of that is an icon.png file) so I guess I'm justified in any claim that I've added significantly to the work. In a case like this, is it enough to merely say Adapted from PowerCtrl.pm, copyright AdrianOnline.net, Feb. 2007. ?? Also, Adrian stated: Initially modeled on Max Spicer's Max2.pm in his code. I don't mind citing Max in the least. But do I need to check HIS code to see who he cites? Is it really necessary to enshrine code begats going back to Adam and Eve? And, if #2 == no, then I guess I'll adopt a what, me worry? attitude towards Joerg Erland's comments that releasing a plugin under the GPL is potentially a misuse of the license. I notice that you include text files of both the GPL version 2 and LGPL ver 2.1 with PowerCenter. PowerCenter's Plugin.pm cites the GPL in it's comment header. Which part of PowerCenter uses the LGPL?
