Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] MusicInfoSCR web interface broken for me under 7.2

2008-09-04 Thread Michael Herger
The only interesting detail in your prefs file is your using backslashes to
separate artist/album etc. Would it work with normal forward slashes?

Strange, as I've refreshed the cache in FF, and it hasn't made any
 difference

The screen configuration is run inside an iframe (which is inside another
frame...). You might have to right click into and have refresh that frame
separately.

Hi Michael,

I've seen on your webpage that SlimNAS doesn't work on newer
FreeNAS-Versions or on AMD64. As I like to use your SlimNAS but I also
want to have the advantages of ZFS (with FreeNAS 7.0), I want to ask
how can I support you in building a new version.
Maybe you can give me a hint how I can do this by myself :-) I'd like
to share my experiences with you.

Thanks for your great work!

Regards,

2008-09-04 Thread agbagb

Made certain I had the correct Alien, and rebooted. Still nothing
(though the MPlayer test that runs on Install did work). Just
remind me: under which menu heading should it appear in the HOME screen
on the left pane - Internet Radio, or one of the others? Either way,
it's not there. I've double checked that the new Alien folder has
appeared in ..PLUGINS; and I got rid of the previous Alien folder
that was there too before running the new Alien installer.

Dumb question - Alien 2.01 for SC 7.1 *does* work for SC 7.2? Or do we
need to wait for a new Alien specifically for 7.2.

2008-09-04 Thread agbagb

Ah-ha! SETTINGS / PLUGINS was showing the old 2.0 Alien Plugin, not
compatible. So I deleted the Alien folder, and tried using the new
Alien Installer. Same problem - no Alien showing up.

The I realised - and the exact details aren't apparent to me right at
the moment - that the Installer was installing the new Alien Plugin to
the wrong directory (using the default location that the Installer
suggests in fact sends the Plugin to the wrong place). A bit of
manual fiddling around and I now have everything working back to
normal.

I'll try a little later to reproduce the error, and see whether there's
something odd with a) my set up, or b) the Installer. Unlikely to be
the Installer - but you never know..

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Ha ha ha ha I can make XM work with....

2008-09-04 Thread Howard Passman

SC 7.2 and the default skin. Well, mostly. I copied the info.xml file
from the classic folder and replaced the same file in the default
folder.

When you bring up any list of stations, you can not use the play or
the add icon. You have to click on the station first and then click
on play or add.

I'm not good at this stuff, but I figured out why you can't use the
Default skin. Now if anyone is good at HTML they should be able to
make the buttons for the play and add work too.

Anyone?

In our house we had SDT set to display long weather forecasts whenever
our SB was off. My wife loved that feature (even more than using the SB
to play music). It helped her plan for the next few days. I'm a

Hi Mark-

Yes yes yes... it's on my list of things to do. I'm just insanely
busy.

Long ago displaying those verbose forecasts was the default and people
kept complaining how much they hated them! When I re-wrote my display
code for v7 I had to drop support for them due to time constraints. I
personally only use them in the winter for more detailed snow
forecasts.

I don't understand what the big deal is with having them display
automatically vs having to hit the fwd button but please be patient it
will come!

Again thanks for all the help and support. I am running 5.6.2 and
7.2 on another installation, with Mac OS X 10.5.4.Interestingly, I
have the overlap problem with the symbol being overwritten by the three
 line information.
Stop and restarted, made sure that long forecasts are set to none,
etc. I did a sudo find / -name fontcache with no results. Mostly
fyi, but perhaps someone else with a mac can point out where this cache
 would be?
 Again thanks

Sorry Eric I do not know, hopefully someone can help you. I'm sure if
you do some clever forum searching you can figure out the location.
It's also near the location where all the prefs are stored. On Windows
it's a hidden directory so you it likely is on MAC too. Maybe you need
your search to include hidden directories.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] TrackStat + apostrophes in song titles

2008-09-04 Thread gbreit

I'm sorry if it feels like you are doing basic tests of the plugin, but
I'm not able to reproduce this in my own setup so information about the
behavior of the following sequence would help.

 Could you try to:
 1. Rate a track with apostrophe which was rated before
 2. Do a TrackStat backup

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to do this test. I didn't realize it at
the time, but after clearing the cache, rescanning, and restoring the
TrackStat backup a couple of days ago, the content of the xml file
changed.

First off, it appears the duplicate records disappeared -- the xml file
is much smaller than before the clear/rescan/restore I did on Sep 2:

-rwx-- 1 gbreit gbreit 9370010 Sep 1 10:45
trackstat_scheduled_backup_20080901.xml
-rwx-- 1 gbreit gbreit 9389310 Sep 2 03:11
trackstat_scheduled_backup_20080902.xml
-rwx-- 1 gbreit gbreit 7594308 Sep 3 03:03
trackstat_scheduled_backup_20080903.xml
-rwx-- 1 gbreit gbreit 7594308 Sep 4 03:03
trackstat_scheduled_backup_20080904.xml

Furthermore, now I have several tracks containing apostrophes which
show ratings in the SC GUI -- that was not the case before. However,
there is still a large number of tracks that do not show ratings in the
SC GUI, and what's worse, their ratings have disappeared from the latest
TrackStat backup files. So there are no longer any tracks that show
ratings in the TrackStat backup file, but not the SC GUI. In other
words, no tracks that match the description in your first instruction
above.

Furthermore, after the rescan, all instances of the apostrophe
character in the URLs of the track records have been replaced by
'%2527'. The historyentry records still have apostrophes.

I am really beginning to suspect that this is related to how the
apostrophe is encoded. I don't know why there are two different
representations of that character...

Here's what I decided to do: Went back to the last TrackStat backup
prior to the SC7.1 upgrade, which was when all the duplicate entries
appeared. Did a global search and replace to substitute %2527 for the
apostrophe character. Cleared the cache, rescanned, and restored from
this altered backup. The idea here is that the altered backup should be
similar format to the current backup, except without the missing
ratings.

This worked. All my old ratings are restored, as well as the play
counts. The downside is that I have to re-rate all tracks I added
since the 7.1 update a month ago -- not a big deal, only 17 albums.
Much better than 100s otherwise.

Thanks again for your help debugging this. You pointed me in the right
direction to solve this myself. Unfortunately, we never got to the
bottom of *why* this happened, and why it has evidently only happened
to me.

PowerSave 7.x works fine with SqueezeCenter 7. Download the latest
version
(7.0r1) if you need to use it with a Receiver.

Great that you got it to work.

I suspect the behavior was caused by a number of SqueezeCenter and
plugin upgrades in a specific order. All the information you have
collected in the process will be useful if any other user gets the same
problem in the future, thanks for your help debugging this.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] CustomBrowse not appearing as a menu optionin PlayerUI Music Library

2008-09-04 Thread erland

Does it work if you enable UPnP in SqueezeCenter
Settings/Advanced/Network ?

If that's the problem it will be fixed in next Custom Browse version.

If that isn't the the problem:
- Have you tried to restart SqueezeCenter ? Do you get any errors at
startup ?
- Do you get any errors in the log from other sources than Custom
Browse ?
- Could you enable debug logging for Custom Browse and see if you get
any log messages when you try to enter the menu ?

Great, this is one of the simples plugins and you use it all the time

the alarm now, or more precisely, do nothing when there's an alarm
