The I realised - and the exact details aren't apparent to me right at the moment - that the Installer was installing the new Alien Plugin to the wrong directory (using the default location that the Installer suggests in fact sends the Plugin to the wrong place). A bit of manual fiddling around and I now have everything working back to normal. I'll try a little later to reproduce the error, and see whether there's something odd with a) my set up, or b) the Installer. Could you try to: 1. Rate a track with apostrophe which was rated before 2. Do a TrackStat backup Unfortunately, I wasn't able to do this test. I didn't realize it at the time, but after clearing the cache, rescanning, and restoring the TrackStat backup a couple of days ago, the content of the xml file changed. First off, it appears the duplicate records disappeared -- the xml file is much smaller than before the clear/rescan/restore I did on Sep 2: -rwx-- 1 gbreit gbreit 9370010 Sep 1 10:45 trackstat_scheduled_backup_20080901.xml -rwx-- 1 gbreit gbreit 9389310 Sep 2 03:11 trackstat_scheduled_backup_20080902.xml -rwx-- 1 gbreit gbreit 7594308 Sep 3 03:03 trackstat_scheduled_backup_20080903.xml -rwx-- 1 gbreit gbreit 7594308 Sep 4 03:03 trackstat_scheduled_backup_20080904.xml Furthermore, now I have several tracks containing apostrophes which show ratings in the SC GUI -- that was not the case before. However, there is still a large number of tracks that do not show ratings in the SC GUI, and what's worse, their ratings have disappeared from the latest TrackStat backup files. So there are no longer any tracks that show ratings in the TrackStat backup file, but not the SC GUI. In other words, no tracks that match the description in your first instruction above. Furthermore, after the rescan, all instances of the apostrophe character in the URLs of the track records have been replaced by '%2527'. The historyentry records still have apostrophes. I am really beginning to suspect that this is related to how the apostrophe is encoded. I don't know why there are two different representations of that character... Here's what I decided to do: Went back to the last TrackStat backup prior to the SC7.1 upgrade, which was when all the duplicate entries appeared. Did a global search and replace to substitute %2527 for the apostrophe character. Cleared the cache, rescanned, and restored from this altered backup. The idea here is that the altered backup should be similar format to the current backup, except without the missing ratings. This worked. All my old ratings are restored, as well as the play counts. The downside is that I have to re-rate all tracks I added since the 7.1 update a month ago -- not a big deal, only 17 albums. Much better than 100s otherwise. Thanks again for your help debugging this. You pointed me in the right direction to solve this myself. Unfortunately, we never got to the bottom of *why* this happened, and why it has evidently only happened to me. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Plugins for 7.1
PowerSave 7.x works fine with SqueezeCenter 7. Download the latest version (7.0r1) if you need to use it with a Receiver. -- jth jth's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=48 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51106 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Unfortunately, we never got to the bottom of *why* this happened, and why it has evidently only happened to me. Great that you got it to work. I suspect the behavior was caused by a number of SqueezeCenter and plugin upgrades in a specific order. All the information you have collected in the process will be useful if any other user gets the same problem in the future, thanks for your help debugging this. -- erland Erland Isaksson 'My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info) 'My download page' (http://erland.isaksson.info/download) (Developer of 'TrackStat, SQLPlayList, DynamicPlayList, Custom Browse, Custom Scan, Custom Skip, Multi Library and Database Query plugins' (http://wiki.erland.isaksson.info/index.php/Category:SlimServer)) erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51821 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] CustomBrowse not appearing as a menu optionin PlayerUI Music Library
Does it work if you enable UPnP in SqueezeCenter Settings/Advanced/Network ? If that's the problem it will be fixed in next Custom Browse version. If that isn't the the problem: - Have you tried to restart SqueezeCenter ? Do you get any errors at startup ? - Do you get any errors in the log from other sources than Custom Browse ? - Could you enable debug logging for Custom Browse and see if you get any log messages when you try to enter the menu ? -- erland Erland Isaksson 'My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info) 'My download page' (http://erland.isaksson.info/download) (Developer of 'TrackStat, SQLPlayList, DynamicPlayList, Custom Browse, Custom Scan, Custom Skip, Multi Library and Database Query plugins' (http://wiki.erland.isaksson.info/index.php/Category:SlimServer)) erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51988 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
