[SlimDevices: Plugins] DynamicPlayList stopped working after upgrade to 7.3.1
Hi. I have noticed that the DynamicPlayLists have stopped working after I upgraded to SC 7.3.1 I can get them to play thru the web ui 50% of the times i try. This is from the dynamyc playlist menu, random, random songs. When selected nothing happens the first time, but the second time it plays ok. The server log says [08-12-28 11:48:13.9492] Slim::Control::Request::execute (1889) Error: While trying to run function coderef [Plugins::DynamicPlayList::Plugin::cliPlayPlaylist]: [Can't call method id on an undefined value at Plugins/DynamicPlayList/Plugin.pm line 3796. I am running the latest versions of SqlPlaylist and DynamicPlayList. Running on Linux. Using the menu on the SB3 seems to work. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. No, forwarding is up and running, I get a connection error if I disable forwarding. Are you trying to stream a lossless file format over the internet? FLAC, WAV... Maybe you need to use the http://serverip:9000/stream.mp3 interface. To do this you need to have the LAME decoder installed to transcode the losslees format to mp3 format at the server. I am trying to use SoftSqueeze outside my lan, the same way as if I were inside it. To do this, I have entered the external IP, in the Networking tab in SoftSqueeze. I have also forwarded the neccesary ports. But, maybe I have misunderstood what is possible? Should this work, or can I only connect to an mp3-stream externally. Sorry, I am an idiot. For some reason, my installation of SqueezeCenter is set to respond to port 9001, not 9000. Altering this (to port 9001) in SoftSqueeze fixed it. Pippin, Thanks, the WebUI only shows unknown, no artist details at all. Indeed, this is the case for all entries even where the album tag is correct i.e. in the WebUI after you select artist all I see is the album name - this is either correct or shows unknown based on the way I have tagged them. However, in iPeng it is different. After I select an artist I see the album plus the artist's name underneath the album. Where the album entry is correct then this isn't a problem but where the album is tagged as unknown the artist entry underneath is incorrect. I tried setting the group compilation albums together parameter in SC but still get similar results only via various artists instead of individual artists. Is there a way to stop iPeng displaying the artist name undeneath the album when selcted via artists? You should be able to add .rpm urls to favorites - the issue with this site is that it does not set the content type for the rpm file correctly so squeezecenter thinks it is a non audio file. Well, now the dynamic playlist I had re-added to favorites isn't working again. Then I went back to the dynamic playlist menu and it wouldn't play from there either. But some other ones did work. This was last night from the SBC interface. When I tested it the other day it was from the WebUI. Not sure what is going on now, but I don't think I will try to use dynamic playlists for alarms any more. Mike, could you send me a sample file. Correction, TWO sample files with different artists? Generally, iPeng is strictly displaying what it gets from SqueezeCenter. In this case it doesn't do any own database lookups or something, it just requests the lists of Albums for an artist and then shows what it gets back. So it does surprise me a bit that the WebUI shows something different, but the results of Web UI and the queries iPeng uses are sometimes different. I myself cannot reproduce this, I get the behavior as described above. New Dec-20-2008 Squeeze-scrobbler does not work with my set-up. I cannot see last.fm as a selection and therefore cannot play it. iMac OSX (very new) Squeeze Center 7.xx (also newest for Mac) Living in Canada Web settings for SqueezeCenter say that plug-in needs to be updated. I have teh factory last.fm plug-in check off (maybe it should be unchecked??) Do I need to have Perl installed on my Mac..? With the Morning Alarm Playlist, when I attempt to play it from the favorites menu with the controller, it fails. When I attempt to play it through the dynamic playlist menu with the controller, it fails. When I attempt to play it through the favorites menu using the front panel on Boom, it fails. Do you only have the problem with static playlists played through dynamic playlist or do you have the same problem with other kind of dynamic playlists ? If it's just static playlists, the problem will be fixed in next version of Dynamic Playlist. Alien bbc now appears in sc and on controller, but none of the files will actually play. The time counts on in sc as if the file is playing, but restarts when volume is adjusted.
