I hadn't done anything special to allow it to run on Vista 64, but it's
promising that it does now, at least til you try to exit! It's odd
because I don't do anything with flash.

All lyrics are displayed from lyricwiki.org - but I'll look at why the
column is blank - it should at least fill in that column when it gets
it.

You can only view the track details page when something's playing on
your player - by clicking on the Now Playing link in the left panel.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: muso (beta)

2009-01-07 Thread jezbo

Version 1.0.6 is available on the page now.

This version should hopefully address the issue of the SC import not
picking up all the tracks, especially if there is ' or some other
special character in the path. Since my test environment has moved on
to SC 7.3.1, backward compatibility (even to SlimServer 6.5.1) will
have to be tested by you folks!

It also changes the way it communicates with the SC CLI (hopefully I
won't have broken anything) and adds some more low level debug (when
run in debug mode) to allow me to investigate your issues when I can't
reproduce them here.

Also fixed a few minor bugs that have been reported.

Sorry but I've taken out the flac/ogg metadata discovery code (on
scanning folders), for now since I'd like to find a pure .NET 2.0
solution and not get involved in cross referencing .NET 3.5 assemblies.
I may take the plunge and move completely on to .NET 3.5 if I don't find
anything.

I would be great to get this working on DNS-323 also.

I can see that all exisisting plugins are installed in

So this is where I copied my iPeng folder

I can see the iPeng is enabled under SC--Settings--Plugins

When I click settings for iPeng, I get this response:

404 Not Found: settings/plugins/iPeng/settings/basic.html

And, when trying to hit http://192.168.0.145:9000/iPeng I get the
response

404 Not Found: iPeng

Any hints will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

How long does it take until iPeng exits?

I don't have any anti-virus installed on the phone or the server.

Geno, after installing the files did you go to your SB to Extras-EQ and
try to initiate the EQ? You have to do that, then completely shut down

Is EQ in the Plugins screen checked?

Yes, the Settings link does not work. The real EQ settings can be found

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: TrackStat Playlist generate static playlists based on statistics

2009-01-07 Thread erland

I've made a new plugin called TrackStat Playlist which is now available
in a 1.0 version. The purpose of the plugin is to make it possible to
generate static playlists based on ratings set manually by the user.
One usage scenario is if you like to manually synchronize ratings with
an external music manager. For example J River Media Center contains
functionality to set a specific rating on all tracks that is part of a
playlist.

Besides generating static playlists based on set ratings, it also
generates a static playlist of played tracks, so you could basically
have a save list that always contains the last 100 played tracks.

It requires you to install both Custom Scan and TrackStat plugin to
make it work. The reason Custom Scan is needed is just because it
contains some framework code to make it easy to build these kind of
export modules. Due to this you will find it settings in the Custom
Scan settings page under the TrackStat Playlist Export module.

Please post any comments in this thread or as separate thread in the
3rd party plugins section of the forum.

As usual my plugins are available through Extension Downloader if you
are using SqueezeCenter 7.3, you will find the url to my repository
here:
http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/SqueezeCenter_Repositories

For users that for some reason don't want to use the great Extension
Downloader, you can of course still download the zip from my download
page:
http://erland.isaksson.info/download

The documentation about the plugins on my wiki will be updated when the
final versions of the plugins are released. But until then you will find
the old plugin documentation here:

Nice job so far with the UI, love it!

I'll post the queries on here so others may try it too. This is the
query it runs to scan the SC database:

Code:

  SELECT t.id, t.url,
  CAST(t.title AS CHAR(1) CHARACTER SET utf8) track,
  t.secs,
  tp.lastplayed,
  tp.rating,
  CAST(a.title AS CHAR(1) CHARACTER SET utf8) album,
  a.Year,
  CAST(g.name AS CHAR(1) CHARACTER SET utf8) genre,
  CAST(c.name AS CHAR(1) CHARACTER SET utf8) artist,
  t.tracknum,
  tp.playcount
  FROM tracks t
  JOIN tracks_persistent tp ON (tp.id = t.id)
  LEFT OUTER JOIN genre_track gt ON (t.id = gt.track)
  LEFT OUTER JOIN genres g ON (gt.genre = g.id)
  LEFT OUTER JOIN albums a ON (t.album = a.id)
  LEFT OUTER JOIN contributor_track ct ON (ct.track = t.id and ct.role = 1)
  LEFT OUTER JOIN contributors c ON (ct.contributor = c.id)
  WHERE lower(t.url) NOT LIKE '%.cue'

Or, if you have the trackstat plugin it does things slightly
differently:

Code:

  SELECT t.id, t.url,
  CAST(t.title AS CHAR(1) CHARACTER SET utf8) track,
  t.secs,
  ifnull(s.lastPlayed, tp.lastPlayed) lastplayed,
  ifnull(s.rating, tp.rating) rating,
  CAST(a.title AS CHAR(1) CHARACTER SET utf8) album,
  a.Year,
  CAST(g.name AS CHAR(1) CHARACTER SET utf8) genre,
  CAST(c.name AS CHAR(1) CHARACTER SET utf8) artist,
  t.tracknum,
  ifnull(s.playcount,tp.playcount) playcount
  FROM tracks t
  JOIN tracks_persistent tp ON (tp.id = t.id)
  LEFT OUTER JOIN track_statistics s ON (s.url = t.url)
  LEFT OUTER JOIN genre_track gt ON (t.id = gt.track)
  LEFT OUTER JOIN genres g ON (gt.genre = g.id)
  LEFT OUTER JOIN albums a ON (t.album = a.id)
  LEFT OUTER JOIN contributor_track ct ON (ct.track = t.id and ct.role = 1)
  LEFT OUTER JOIN contributors c ON (ct.contributor = c.id)
  WHERE lower(t.url) NOT LIKE '%.cue'

That is unless you are on an older version of the SC database (with no
tracks_persistent table) in which case it does something different
again. You can compare the number of tracks returned with that from
querying tracks alone.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: New versions of erlands plugins

2009-01-07 Thread erland

A number of new version of my plugins are now available including the
completely new TrackStat Playlist plugin.

DynamicPlayList 2.6.2
- Corrected so dynamic playlists works as alarm playlists without
interrupting the alarm.

CustomScan 2.4
- Corrected Mixed Tag menu template so tag type parameters affect
presentation on albums so Disc 1 is shown at the end when relevant.
- Improved performance of scanning module that don't use Custom Scan
tables, for example all TrackStat Statistics modules.
- Changed Rating Tag and Amazon scanning module so they change
TrackStat ratings as type:scan instead of type:user. (To make sure they
don't affect the rating playlists in TrackStat Playlist plugin)
- Improved possibilities to abort scanning operations.

TrackStatPlaylist 1.0
- Initial release
- See more information in the announcement thread:
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=57831

TrackStat 2.7
- Improved performance of full import/export from Amarok, iTunes and
MusicIP
- Added restore module which can be called from Custom Scan which makes
it possible to abort a restore and see when it's finished in the web
interface.
- Optimized restore and backup operation so they cause less playback
disturbances.
- Added new type parameter to rating CLI/JSON commands

NOTE!
They can still be installed the old way, but if you run SqueezeCenter
7.3 the recommended way is to use the Extension Downloader in
SqueezeCenter settings.
Use the repository url listed here:
http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/SqueezeCenter_Repositories

NOTE2
If you are using Windows Vista, install manually and get errors when
unzipping the plugins, you may need to install the hotfix:
http://support.microsoft.com/KB/952249

If you are a developer that want to make sure my plugins are
continuously developed, please see this thread:
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=41583

If you are a normal user that want to help:
- Post bugs whenever you find them, either in the 'issue tracker on the
google code site' (http://erlandplugins.googlecode.com/) or in '3rd
party plugins' section of this forum.
- Help updating the information about these plugins and related
tutorials on the 'Slim Devices wiki site'

As usual the plugins are available from my download page for people
that don't want to use the Extension Downloader:
http://erland.isaksson.info/download
(If you are using 7.3 it's preferable to install through the Extension
Downloader in SqueezeCenter Settings instead).

The documentation about the plugins is now stored on the Slim Devices
wiki site but can also be reached through my own wiki:
http://wiki.erland.isaksson.info/index.php/Category:SlimServer
(If you find an error in the documentation, please update the text on
the wiki)

Agreed. I'll add both options, with appropriate wording. I should

[SlimDevices: Plugins] CustomBrowse menus not appearing

2009-01-07 Thread pl7

Hello,

Apologies for the long post - I hope I am just being clueless here, but
I am stumped.

I have set up two libraries using MultiLibrary. The file counts of
these show up in Extras | MultiLibrary and appear to be correct.

I then wanted to use CustomBrowse to add a couple of simple menus which
are restricted to each of these libraries.
When I tried to do this I could see no changes in any of the SC menus.
On the Home | Custom Browse screen I see only:

No matching songs, albums or artists were found

Refresh (MyCustomBrowse 2.6)

I suspected some kind of file permissions issue, so I used the Settings
menu to change the name Custom Browse to MyCustomBrowse, simply to
verify that my changes were having some effect. The new name
MyCustomBrowse now appears in the Home menu.

Here is an example of a simple menu that I tried to create just to
replicate the built-in Artists menu.

?xml version=1.0 encoding=utf-8?
custombrowse
template
idartists.xml/id
parameter type=text
id=menunamevalueMyArtists/value/parameter
parameter type=text id=menugroup/parameter
parameter type=text
id=menuordervalue50/value/parameter
parameter type=text id=rolesvalue1/value/parameter
parameter type=text
id=variousartistsvalue1/value/parameter
parameter type=text id=variousartisttextvalueVarious
Artists/value/parameter
parameter type=text
id=defaultalbumsortvaluebyyear/value/parameter
parameter type=text
id=playalltracksvalue1/value/parameter
parameter type=text id=libraryvalue/value/parameter
parameter type=text
id=activelibraryvalue0/value/parameter
parameter type=text id=includedclients/parameter
parameter type=text id=excludedclients/parameter
parameter type=text
id=includedlibrariesvalue/value/parameter
parameter type=text
id=excludedlibrariesvalue/value/parameter
/template
/custombrowse

The file Myartists.cb.values.xml is created in
/volume1/Public/Music/playlists but on returning to the Home |
MyCustomBrowse screen the new menu does not appear, I still see:

No matching songs, albums or artists were found

Refresh (MyCustomBrowse 2.6)

In the Manage menus settings screen there are still only the options
to
Create new menu Download last version of existing menus

SqueezeCenter is running on a QNAP TS-109 II NAS:

Version: 7.3.1 - 24372 @ Fri Dec 19 17:30:38 PST 2008
Hostname: NAS8BDD91
Server IP Address: 192.168.0.9
Server HTTP Port Number: 9001
Operating system: Linux - EN - iso-8859-1
Platform Architecture: armv5tejl-linux
Perl Version: 5.8.8 - armv5tejl-linux-thread-multi
MySQL Version: 5.0.27
Total Players Recognized: 2 ( 1 Duet and 1 Boom)

I believe I have the latest versions of CustomBrowse (2.6) and
MultiLibrary. I tried to keep the directory structure very simple:

Music Folder: /volume1/Public/Music
Browse Configuration Directory: /volume1/Public/Music/playlists
Browse Templates Directory: /volume1/Public/Music
Context Templates Directory: /volume1/Public/Music

libraryAudioDirUrl: file:///volume1/Public/Music
libraryDir: /volume1/Public/Music

SC appears to run as user ssods, group everyone on this platform
(ssods is the owner of all the files in the SqueezeCenter installation
directory and is also the owner of the perl process that becomes active
when I click Refresh after the No matching songs, albums or artists
were found message)

The menu xml files are created with permissions -rw-r--r--, but I have
changed the permissions of these (and every other file in the
/volume1/Public/Music tree!) to -rwxrwxrwx but this has not helped.

Have I missed something obvious? I do hope so!

Many thanks for your patience,

Phil

definite improvement with 1.0.7 - previous versions were only counting
some 17000 from a total of 21562 tracks in my library, that's now up to
21243 with the new version. the number of albums is considerably higher
than that reported by SC but i'm guessing that's a multi-disc set issue?

UI looking great btw, fantastic potential here!

this is a bit vague but might help in troubleshooting - i may have
inadvertently stumbled across a possible reason for the ongoing
discrepancy between the total number of tracks in my library and the
numbers reported by muso. i've got 7 distinct 'albums' by the
icelandic band mum (name should feature a u acute in the middle but
can't get it to display in the forum!) but the only one of these listed
in muso is the one in mp3 format - all the rest are in FLAC and
(obviously) will feature the band name and assorted other icelandic
(ANSI?) characters in the tags - is muso currently unable to handle
these characters and dropping the tracks as a result?

No, I've got albums by Björk which appear OK. I did fix an issue with

my SC library - between them, the 'missing' sigur ros and mum tracks
account for 128 of the 319 track discrepancy between my SC track total
and the numbers reported by muso. will try and work out what else is
missing to see if it helps establish a pattern...

2009-01-07 Thread rubbermp3

hi all,

i absolutely love this plugin, it is the first plugin i installed for
my new SBv3. I installed mavit's version r108.mavit posted earlier in
this forum. I am on SC7.2.1. I did nothing to accommodate SC7.3 (on).

i was getting the pref_ error/warning in the server.log, looked at it
and believe i repaired that. i also wanted to change WeatherTime to have
an option to *ONLY* display the date on the screen (no time) since i
have too many clocks already. in doing this i also repaired a typeo
(at least i believe it was a typeo) in the WWW M/DD format string.

attached is the zip file which contains all of what mavit's zip file
contained, with the changes *AND* the individual patch files (in a
subfolder called patches) if you want to see the changes.

use as you see fit... ignore, integrate, use, etc.

cheers and thanks very very to all that made these sources available!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: muso (beta)

2009-01-07 Thread pichonCalavera

Sounds like a good app, but I cannot get it to work.

Having problems importing music from Squeezecenter database.

I've put my database parameters on Music Sources, but when I choose
Import, it starts scanning, but ends with these results:

Completed Squeezecenter Scan: 6087 songs parsed, 0 new songs added, 0
songs updates, 0 errors.

I checked the Open Log FIle After Importing, but it doesn't open
anything.

I'm running Muso 1.0.7 on a Windows XP SP3 machine, and my
Squeezecenter is in a Debian Linux server on my home LAN. My
Squeezecenter version is Version: 7.4 - 24416 @ Sat Dec 27 01:14:34 PST
2008

I use Samba to share my music on the network too, and when I try
Importing it using the selecting Folder option, the log file opens
correctly, and gives the following summary:

6092 songs parsed
1683 new songs added
0 songs updated
4409 errors
6092 files scanned in 00:00:52.7558592

My music collection is FLAC and MP3 files only, and I think the FLAC
songs are the ones that are throwing errors.

Yes EQ is checked (enabled) in the plugin screen.

I have SyncOptions on, with mid-track sync set. Wonder if that could be

Which version of SC and The Synchronizer?

Try turning mid-track sync off, especially if you're on 7.3. I seem to
remember something about having bad interactions between SyncOptions and
the Synchronizer. 7.3.x really has the mid-track sync by default, but
you'll need the latest version of The Synchronizer to go with it.

epoch1970;380069 Wrote:
Gharris999, that's quite a list of new features you have here; kudos for
 your work.
I haven't tested the new version of the plugin yet, will do so soon.
(and update strings.txt as an aside)

As planned my own SB gear is now down to a single Duet, and SC running
in a VM on an always-on server... Until I revive another home server
project for friends or family I was thinking I may be could contribute
a bit to your plugin ?

These are areas I think interesting:
 - An OS X power daemon. Runs as root aside SC, and accepts
SSL-verified connections from the plugin to return its current power
state assessment and to take reboot/shutdown/sleep actions. I have OS
 X.5 and X.4, could install X.3 (I think), on 2 Intel-based macs.
(Perhaps this could be generalized to other platforms, to conceal all
nitty-gritty power management details, and provide a
platform-independant API -tcp- to the plugin.)
 - Plugin settings web page redesign. With tabs and all; I already did
a few mock-ups. This needs some thinking and good understanding of
features dependencies in the plugin. I expect the HTML/TT/JS
 implementation wouldn't be too difficult.
 - Controller scheduled WOL applet. Starting from scratch, for me.
 - pimp my playlist: testing a way to add -an internet?- WOL service
to an existing alarm playlist. Intriguing and should be fun, but I
don't see how this can be completely packaged with the plugin if
 someday it works.
 - A power-saving agent that would integrate users behaviour to take
actions (AI). Seems possible; But if we want the agent to be smarter
than Clippy, someone knowledgeable in AI would better chime in...

I don't know how much time I could spend on one of these subjects; I'd
like to play it light on maintenance once stabilized. Let me know what
 you think.
Epoch1970: I’ve been meaning to add an acknowledgements section to the
plugin's readme file. I'd like to acknowledge here how much I have
appreciated all your helpful hints and ideas. All the wakeup for
alarm code in the latest release, of course, was inspired by your
example.

I would certainly welcome any contributions you would like to make to
SrvrPowerCtrl. All of your ideas are good ones and the areas that you
suggest you would be interested in working on are all areas that could
use the work.

A tabbed settings page would be genuinely helpful. Also, I think a
link on the settings page to a comprehensive readme will be necessary
if SrvrPowerCtrl is ever to be usefully installable from the Extension
Downloader plugin.

Re the Mac / platform independent power management daemon with tcp
interface: this idea is certainly beyond the ambitions that I’ve had
for the plugin. I'm not completely sure I see the advantage of trading
flexibility in the execution of various system power control commands by
the plugin to adopting a unified tcp based interface to various services
/ daemons – all of which we would have to write. As it stands, I have
no idea what it would take to make SrvrPowerCtrl work on Solaris or on
FreeBSD. But I suspect that there are shutdown/restart/suspend/etc.
commands available on such systems so that SrvrPowerCtrl could be made
to work now without the need to write a discrete daemon for each
platform and each architecture on each platform. But perhaps I haven’t
really understood your rationale for this sort of setup.

For now, I think the most immediate need is to extend the rtc wake
alarm to OSX. I haven't even begun to look into this. Hopefully, all
that would be required would be to add another case statement to your
OSX helper script. Would you be willing to look into that?

However, I also don't think it's my place to be disobliging to any

OK, I found the problem. I was following the directions and putting the

location.

I noticed there weren't any of my other current plugins in that folder,
in fact nothing was in that folder.

Since I'm running Vista, the now active plugins folder isn't in the
SqueezeCenter program folder. It's now in the
C:\ProgramData\SqueezeCenter\Cache\InstalledPlugins\Plugins location
which once installed there Inguz showed up as expected.

I haven't tried it out yet, but at least it now shows up. You might
want to update the installation docs to reflect this Vista behavior.

Thanks for your help,

cparker, I think you will have to change this section in the repository
xml file:
plugin name=Spicefly SugarCube version=1.8.0
target=windows|mac|unix minTarget=7.0 maxTarget=7+

To this:
plugin name=SugarCube version=1.8.0 target=windows|mac|unix
minTarget=7.0 maxTarget=7+

The name attribute have to match the plugin folder name, if it
doesn't it will create an additional directory level when installed
through Extension Downloader and the plugin won't work. The title
element on the next row in the repository XML can remain as it is, this
is the text that will be shown in the user interface.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Context Menu and Retro Browser clashing

2009-01-07 Thread peterw

Sorry I haven't looked into this yet. I hadn't installed RetroBrowser
yet, and my development box has been essentially dead for over a week
(thought it was the hdd; looks like the motherboard, and, yeah, it's a
laptop). I still don't have RB installed (the instructions on
http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/SqueezePlay_Applets don't seem to
work -- I unpacked the first zip in the manual plugins dir but my SBC
doesn't see the applet), but I have a theory. RB is sending plain old
'arrow_right' when you tap the center button briefly, and
arrow_right.hold when you hold the button. CM reconfigures the IR
mapping for arrow_right so that most modes end up with
arrow_right.single and arrow_right.hold mappings, but no plain
arrow_right mappings. This works fine with real, honest-to-goodness IR
commands which map to either .single or .hold once CM has changed the
IR maps.

I expect this could be fixed one of two ways:
1) modify RB to send '.single' modifiers for brief taps
2) modify CM to leave unqualified entries like 'arrow_right' alone and
merely add '.hold' mappings

I don't understand the IR processing well enough to know what should be
better -- in Default.map there are some pairs of functions that have one
unqualified entry and one .hold entry, but there are others where the
unqualified entry is effectively disabled (set to 'dead') and the real
entries are one .single and one .hold entry.

But I tested the possible change to CM, and didn't like the result.
With the current CM coding, if you hold the right arrow, you *normally*
only get the context menu (though sometimes SC7 executes a normal
right-arrow command just before invoking the context menu). With the
second approach I described above, every time I held the right arrow on
my SB Classic, I got the normal arrow_right just before the context
menu.

I think users should be able to go straight to the context menu. So in
practice, I'd suggest modifying RB. Here's a possible patch for
RetroBrowser:

Code:

--- ./RetroBrowserApplet.lua2007/12/02 21:40:07 1.1
  +++ ./RetroBrowserApplet.lua2009/01/08 07:27:29
  @@ -299,10 +299,7 @@
  if hold then
  self.player:send({ 'button', button .. '.hold' })
  else
  - self.player:send({ 'button', button })
  - if button == 'play' or button == 'add' then
  - self.player:send({ 'button', button
.. '.single' })
  - end
  + self.player:send({ 'button', button ..
'.single' })
  end
  self.buttonsent = ticks
  end

Sending arrow_right.single seems to work just fine when CM has deleted
the plain arrow_right mappings. You'll note that RB is doing something
that looks a little odd to me -- for Play and Add, it's sending both an
unqualified and a .single button command. I don't know why RB would do
that, and my patch above would alter RB to always send only one button
command per Controller button tap, always a .single command.
