Have you tried the "forget last server" option under Settings?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: NPR Radio plugin

2009-02-24 Thread bpa

The NPRRadio plugin just puts together playlists of WMA URLs. Since
they play OK on SB3 but not on Softsqueeze - it probably means your SC
support for WMA has some problem. This is normally done by the SC
supplied apps wmadec.exe and socketwrapper.exe and sometimes these are
blocked by security s/w. What security s/w are you using ?

Can you play WMA files on Softsqueeze ?
If yes, then can you play any WMA internet stream on Softsqueeze ?

If no, then collect a log with the log setting player.source set to
INFO (see Setting/Advanced/Logging)

I guess you're not reading my responses then?
Again, it's nothing to do with SqueezeCenter, LastFM changed the format of some
of their responses to the plugin - essentially when the plugin requests a
station change, LastFM used to respond with a confirmation that would include
the station that was changed to.
Recently they changed the response so that station name is reformatted (e.g.
capitalised and URL escaped) and this causes a loop in the plugin.

2009-02-24 Thread bpa

>

> plugin for American Routes?
>

Have you had any experience with Perl ?

You'll need to create at least two files.
1. opml file with Amercian Routes URL and a hook to a parser file.
2. Parser file which has a subroutine called "parse" and which parses
the American Routes HTML from the URL in opml file and then generates
SC Menus using an opml hash. The generated opml has will either be
menus or playable items (i.e URLs to a playable item). You must make
sure that the parser does not spend too much time processing (i.e. each
parse routine should only parse one fetched html page at a time) as it
can affect SC performance.

As well as coding you will have to decide on the "best" menu layout.
With archives this usually means - restricting the possibilities and
also possibly generating menus on the fly rather than having prebuilt.

For ideas, you can look at the current NPRRadio opml and parsers files
or look at the Addons in AlienBBC which use the same organisation.

It will only work in the UK, and you need to install a plugin to
SqueezeCenter. It won't run through SqueezeNetwork. See the start of
this thread.

If you are running SqueezeCenter 7.3.1 or earlier then you need to
download the appropriate Zip file from the start of this thread and
unzip it to the Plugins sub-directory of your SqueezeCenter
installation. When you have done that restart SqueezeCenter and go to
SqueezeCenter Settings - Plugins and make sure the box for the plugin
is ticked.

If you are running SqueezeCenter 7.3.2 then it is already available on
the Settings - Plugins page as a simple tick box to install it.

In either case, once the iPlayer plugin is visible on the plugins page
and has a tick against it, probably best that you then stop and then
restart SqueezeCenter, and it will appear on the Internet Radio menu on
your controller.

I was listening to R4 comedy "Old Harry's Game" at 11:00pm last night,
so unless it has stopped working this morning...!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Windows REALLY PreventStandby plugin.

2009-02-24 Thread newy

I thought I was losing my mind but now I know how to reproduce it (the
problem). Sorry for the long post but here is what's happenning:

Windows XP computer is asleep. I wake it up by pressing Power on my
Transporter. Computer wakes up and I press Power again on the
Transporter to power it up. I select a song , press play and listen to
some tunes. All is good except for the fact that the Transporter's
display does not go to the Now Playing screen saver, nor does it dim
itself to Level 3 (from Level 4) like it's supposed to.

If I use the Controller to select the next track it plays fine fine but
on the Transporter it shows the new song's name for about 2 seconds and
then reverts to the last Transporter menu that was accessed. Again, it
stays on Level 4 brightness indefinitely.

The only way I have found to fix this problem and get the system
working like it should is to Power off the Transporter and then Power
it on again. Everything works fine then,

I have the computer set to go into standby mode after 30 minutes of
inactivity. If I let that happen I get the same odd behaviour from the
Transporter's display.

I recently installed the Really Prevent Standby plugin but I think it
was happening before I installed it.

Confounded. Any idea what could be going on?

Thanks.

Could you please test this behaviour without this plugin? Your description
remembers me of another reported issue where a screensaver wouldn't update

The RealAudio streams work fine outside of the UK but you need
SqueezeCenter running on a PC. You need to install AlienBBC (and
possibly manually install mplayer depending on your OS) and trhen use
the AlienBBC menu "BBC Live Streams" to select the RealAudio streams.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Windows REALLY PreventStandby plugin.

2009-02-24 Thread newy

Unchecked the W:RPStandy plugin, restarted SC and got the same results,
only my computer went into standby mode after 2 minutes.

Waited for a half an hour so the computer really went back to sleep,
powered up again, same results. I powered down quickly, powered up
again - problem solved until the 2 minute mark when it went into
standby again.

So I guess I'll re-checkmark the W:RPS plugin and set my Harmony to
send 4 Power toggle commands to my Transporter when I want to power up.
Should work.

BTW, I'm using the latest software, Norton antivirus suite supplied by
Rogers running on a DELL XP tower. Wireless Transporter.

Working OK at the moment - there are the occasional problems with some
play-again not found.

Would help if you gave your setup... operating system, SqueezeCentre
version etc.
Which version of the plugin you have installed, and how you installed
it.
Then people would have a better chance of helping you get it working.

I finally got around to doing this. I omitted the calls to the
setcustomchar function and got SDT working on my SB1. That's the good
part.

The not so good part is the current behavior. There's an NHL game for
one of my teams tonight, so the display is alternating between current
weather and the display of the game start time. But rather than waiting
the specified interval between the two displays, I get the two chasing
each other off the screen continuously. There is effectively no delay
for either display no matter what I set the interval times to.

Any thoughts on what might be happening here?

Thanks.
