I don't use SqueezeNetwork so I can't help there, I suggest that you
ask in this thread http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48521

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] 7.3 and XM radio

2009-05-14 Thread Max F

Are you guys getting the farty/static noises with this new plugin and
128kb stream? I'm running 7.2.1 with the old plugin and get repeated
noises - some channels worst than others. Some folks have also noted
problems on one of the XM forums - they aren't using Squeezebox though.
It appears to be packet losses. Anyway, I assume its on XMs end with
the new 128 kb stream, but just wanted to check if anyone else is having
issues with noise with the squeezebox.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: New versions of erlands plugins

2009-05-14 Thread erland

A bit of warning to anyone that uses 7.4 nightly releases.

The latest SqueezeCenter nightly release contains some changes that
probably breaks some or most of my plugins, see this thread for more
information:
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=63346

Make sure you have a TrackStat backup BEFORE you try to upgrade to the
latest 7.4 nightly, if you don't there is a risk your TrackStat
statistics such as ratings and play counts will be discarded and lost
forever.

I can't currently say when the plugins will be tested towards the
latest nightly, there is a risk it will at least take a few weeks.

I am running SC 7.3.2 and despite this Extension Downloader is offering
the option to upgrade to 0.5. Should it be doing this given that it
presumably won't work?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Whitebear Media Server

2009-05-14 Thread indifference_engine

Hi All, This looks a very interesting app I have downloaded it and
installed it as a service. My vista client shows the whitebear server
in the network neighbourhood and I can see it's webpage but WMC is not
finding it. Vista help says IPSec has to be disabled for media sharing
to work but doesn't say why. Is this requirement specific to the WMC
implementation or would it apply to whitebear aswell?

You say the server can only run on XP or vista, what parts of the OS
does it need specifically? I had managed to unstall the SSDP and upnp
services aswell as WMP11 onto my Server2003SBS box and was successfully
sharing media to my vista box and my phone but I didn't like the idea of
maintaining two libraries! My phone can see whitebear but errors if I
try to play anything. I'd really like to be able to run whitebear on my
server but if the OS just can't do it then I guess I'll have to forego
the opportunity unless I can hack more bits onto it.

Hmm. Actually it chooses another port at random if 8080 is occupied...

You might need to wait until it re-sends its regular alive messages
(every 3 minutes or so)...

Out of interest, what DO you see when you try artist or year?

PS I will try to prepare a debug buildof the application. I will sned
you a PM when it is ready...
