Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver
Hi Mitch, Sorry for not being clear, it isn't in the SuperDateTime settings. It is actually in the general 'Date and Time' menu for that player. Instead, make sure you click on the top 'Player' tab, then choose the right player in the dropdown menu, and then in the dropdown menu beside it, choose 'Date and Time' jd +---+ |Filename: boom.PNG | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=8877| +---+ -- jdc jdc's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=23870 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=14327 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Twitter App for Squeezebox
The easiest way is to use the RSS News Ticker screensaver and subscribe to http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/logitech.rss (replace logitech with a user name of your choice). Small quirk: Every tweet is shown twice because the RSS feed has the message both in the item title and in the item description. I'll come up with a more elaborate solution (involving Yahoo! Pipes) later, but this should work out-of-the-box for now (if I'm not mistaken, the RSS Newsticker plugin is included in the standard distribution of SBS). -- usch usch's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33389 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=72785 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Beta version of SvrPowerControl
mvordeme;496954 Wrote: Several things had happened. The idle monitoring had been switched off for some reason, the service was running under the wrong user account, and SPC wasn't executing any of the configured commands. I first had to fix the service, and then I reset the SPC configuration. After that, SCPowerTool would work again, and finally, I was able to convince the server to execute my LightsOut integration script. I'll keep an eye on it, and if it looks like it is working satisfactorily, I will write a short manual and upload the script. I am going to modify the logging so the log output can be redirected as you did with SCPowerTool. *P.S.:* I just noticed that the not idle command is always executed by -no name- instead of the active player. The -no name- entries in the log became necessary with changes between SC 7.3.4 and SBS 7.4.x. What used to work suddenly stopped working. So now I'm taking a hyper-vigilant approach: Code: sub ClientAttribute { my ($client, $attr) = @_; return (eval {$client-$attr()} || no $attr ); } Thus, ClientAttribute(undef, 'name') will yield no name. In the case of the not-idle command, the command doesn't really execute in any client context...it's just fired off by the periodic timer. So, even though a client may be playing (and thus the system is not idle) the command gets executed without any client credentials and thus 'no name' is perfectly appropriate, if a little confusing. On the other hand, SrvrPowerCtrl commands executed from the client UI or from the SBC or another controller (Touch, iPeng) should show the player name in log entry. -- gharris999 gharris999's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=115 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48521 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Twitter App for Squeezebox
Ok, here we go. (In case you don't know, Yahoo! Pipes is a free service that lets you retrieve, filter, aggregate, and customize RSS feeds.) I've set up two pipes that convert Twitter feeds into a format that is more suitable for the Squeezebox RSS News Ticker. The first one simply retrieves a single feed of your choice. Tweets older than 24 hours are discarded except for the two most recent ones, as are tweets containing URLs (since these are of no use on a SB display) and @ replies. http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.run?_id=707bf9a452c2ee510e9d68f61cab8fe7_render=rssname=logitech Again, replace logitech with a Twitter user name. You can of course set up several instances with different user names and cycle through them in the newsticker. The second one lets you retrieve as many Twitter feeds as you like with a single call. However, to specify your feeds of interest you need to clone the sample pipe and edit the Fetch Feed module, which means you must have a Yahoo! account. After customizing the pipe click on Get as RSS and let the newsticker plugin retrieve that feed. http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.info?_id=2bdf16c3211be32d3558535b6e462274 Like the first pipe this one also discards tweets older than 24 hours, tweets containing URLs, and @ replies. Unfortunately Yahoo! Pipes is not the most reliable of services (you get what you pay for), so occasionally the screen might just stay blank. Usually this sorts itself out again after a couple of minutes. -- usch usch's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33389 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=72785 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
[SlimDevices: Plugins] Help me decide - NAS - I`m stupid
I finally talked my data-hating husband into agreeing with me buying a squeezebox duet. The argumentation was no pc or server, I could use NAS (bought My Book World...) and that I now have 1,4 terrabyte music(!) That did`nt work (My book with Squeeze) so after negotiating we`re buing another NAS just for my music. But reading in the forum makes my head boiling. I don`t understand half of it.. I have windows 7 on my laptop and need 2 terra on a NAS to a lowest price and QUIET.. It has to be standing close to us, so.. I see the squeezeserver is making some limitations. My Choises and questions, which one to choose? : - Netgear readynas duo sold on all the stores here, is it ok / noise mv And.. And.. I think it is a bit ugly, need to buy extra Hard drives, the one in my local shops only sell 500 gb version. But then I`ll loose the pre installed things I need?? - Netgear Stora Very small, cheap but noisy (I`ve read), but so cold I can put it in my cabinet. I can`t see any sb server to this one?? It has 1 tb in it so I only have to buy one extra HD - Buffalo I see several recomend this. Small / big? Quiet? I don`t see squeezebox server for this one either, so how do you do it? And I also see there is a million of them, so.. which one?
