Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: New versions of erlands plugins
I give up. I did not want to use my master SBS installation for the testing because a wipe and rescan takes 6-8 hrs and a CustomScan a couple of hours so I downloaded and installed a new copy of SBS and your plugins on another PC (same version 7.4.2 r29707 on both machines running Win XP). I configured SBS the same on both machines (Show year with album activated, same settings under My music etc.). In the CustomScan module Custom Tag I also made the same settings with only two exceptions: I checked the option Include in automatic scans and Scan All and I checked the Use raw MP3 tags option; under Various settings in CustomScan I had Yes for the two refresh options and the automatic rescan option (those options were set to No on the master installation). I then did a wipe and rescan and for good measures also a manual Custom Tag scan in CustomScan. The library consisted of a small set of files/albums I had just copied from my master library and changed the album names on (to descriptive names as regards the tags, i.e. MP3 VA TYER TORY etc). The result: For MP3 ID3v2.3 SBS only scanned the TYER tag! (As you remember, in my master installation SBS scanned both TORY and TYER but gave precedence to TORY over TYER.) Just to make sure that CustomScan did not in any way interfere with the regular SBS scan I uninstalled CustomScan, using the SBS plugin installer, and then after a restart of SBS did a wipe and rescan of the music library. The result was the same. I have no idea why the behaviour is different on the two installations. Unless someone can come up with an explanation, I give up the project. The chances of me getting a stable solution seems slim at best. If I only could get the title format to show the custom tag I would be sufficiently happy for now. Thank you, Erland, for all your support and patience! I do hope you continue developing. -- vagskal 2 x SB3 (wired), Receiver (wireless), Boom (wireless), Controller, iPeng on iPod Touch, muso on remote computer running Win XP | 7.4.2 on Win XP vagskal's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=20778 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49483 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

vagskal;504523 Wrote: I will email you the files, if you should have the time to see what the difference might be. Ok, this is how it looks like when I look at them with my tools: Standard SBS The original file: - TORY: 1899 (Visible in SBS 7.5 as TDOR, scanned into YEAR in SBS) - TYER: 1998 (Visible in SBS 7.5 as TDRC) The copy: - TXXX (ORIGINAL RELEASE DATE): 1899 (Visible in SBS 7.5 as ORIGINAL RELEASE DATE) - TYER: 1998 (Visible in SBS 7.5 as TDRC, scanned into YEAR in SBS) Custom Scan behaves like this: == The original file (without Raw mode): - YEAR: 1899 The original file (with Raw mode): - ORIGYEAR: 1899 - YEAR: 1899 The copy (with or without Raw mode) - YEAR: 1998 - ORIGINAL RELEASE DATE: 1899 Further analysis: = I think the tag editing software you used to create the copy isn't properly supporting TORY tags, the result is that it writes it to the file as a TXXX tags with the name ORIGINAL RELEASE DATE. Due to this SBS handles them differently. Possible solutions as I see it: Solution 1: Patch Custom Scan (Modules/CustomTag.pm), change the rawTagNames mapping table in the beginning of the file so TYER = YEAR is changed to TYER = TYER. The result of this should be that you with raw checkbox enabled should for the original file get: - YEAR: 1899 (which you can ignore) - TYER: 1998 - ORIGYEAR: 1899 After this you should be able to map TYER and ORIGYEAR as you like with the tag mapping attribute. Solution 2: Retag the files with T tags which you can then configure to use in Custom Scan. I wouldn't rely on that the tagging software writes a T (ORIGINAL RELEASE DATE) tag, select a different name instead that will work in all tagging softwares. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: New versions of erlands plugins
Thank you so much for your help Erland! The issue with the tags was due to a misconfiguration of MP3Tag's new tag mapping feature (http://forums.mp3tag.de/index.php?showtopic=9646hl=tag%20mappingst=15). The issue has or could have affected at least 3 different tags. I will definitely choose solution no. 2 as regards the retaggning, after fixing configuring MP3Tag properly. That will take some time just to load all files into MP3Tag and changing them and then to do a backup and subsequent wipe and rescan in SBS. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Inguz measurement: will phantom power hurt the transporter?
Hi, Finally taking the plunge to play with room correction. I have a calibrated mic, cables and an Edirol UA25-EX. The problem is, the Edirol has two XLR inputs (the only analogue ones) and the switch for phantom power covers both. Therefore, when I want to take a measurement in order to power the mic, I need phantom power on, but that means that +48VDC will be sent to the output of the transporter. My question is, will this damage the transporter? I'm guessing it should be possible to see it with foobar2000 or Mp3Tag on Windows but I'm not completely sure. -- erland Erland Isaksson 'My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info) (Install my plugins through Extension Downloader) (Developer of 'TrackStat, SQLPlayList, DynamicPlayList, Custom Browse, Custom Scan, Custom Skip, Multi Library, Title Switcher and Database Query plugins' (http://wiki.erland.isaksson.info/index.php/Category:SlimServer)) erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49483 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

If you would see the tags exactly in Windows, you can use an good text-editor as Notepad++.http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/nl/site.htm Just open the music-file with this editor. Mp3Tag and Foobar2000 are using standard mapping names. -- wowo *Squeezebox*: 3 Classic *SSODS*: 4.2 *SqueezeboxServer*: 7.5.0 - r29584 (Beta) *Plugins*: Album Review 2.9.0; Biography 2.9.0; Custom Browse 2.10; Custom Scan 2.7.4; Trackstat 2.10 *NAS*: Synology DS107+ DSM 2.2-0959 *Tag*: MusicBrainz 0.12; Mp3tag v2.45a *Windows Frontend*: Moose 072 *Other programs*: Album Catalog Creator v2.0.5 'Last.fm' (www.last.fm/user/Wowotiel) wowo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18033 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49483 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
[SlimDevices: Plugins] Mobile/Cell Phone Streaming Application
I don't want to control my squeezebox with my phone, even though I know I can do that. I want to use my phone as a squeezebox, so I can play music from my phone streaming music from my already present SqueezeCentre. It would be nice to access my library in a similar functionality as my Squeezebox. So effectivly my phone would be a virtual Squeezebox... My phone has wi-fi and symbian etc... -- Frommerchicken Frommerchicken's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9767 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=73812 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
