Greg,
I found a bug in the long text.

After setting the long weather text to display 'Always' I noticed the
Next 6Hrs text accumulates another text on each gotWeather pass.

For example, after changing a setting or pressing '+' I had long
weather text for:
Tonight, Tomorrow, Tomorrow Night, Tuesday and Wednesday.

After 5 minutes I had text for:
Tonight, Tomorrow, Tomorrow Night, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Next 6Hrs.

After 10 minutes I had text for:
Tonight, Tomorrow, Tomorrow Night, Tuesday, Wednesday, Next 6Hrs, and
another Next 6Hrs.

After 15 minutes I have 3 entries for Next 6hrs. 4 entries after 20.

Pressing the '+' clears it back to:
Tonight, Tomorrow, Tomorrow Night, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Don

Looks like with weather.com's changes to their website, twice a day is
all you'll get with the forecastTOD logic. Twice a day is probably
enough since you can press '+' to refresh these at anytime.

If you wanted to separate long weather updates from the 10day and
averages you could use logic based on the time since long weather was
last updated. i.e. - Last update was > 6 hours ago. This might be a
good compromise between only twice a day OR every x minutes.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Can't play .ra streams with PlayReal plug-in

2010-01-24 Thread bpa

I have a vague recollection that the mplayer.sh shell scripts has
problems running on gentoo.

I can't remember the exact problem but the usual Linxu distro issues
include:
- permissions and ownership of mplayer.sh gets altered during
installation - it should be owned by same owner as rest of plugin and
SBS. mplayer.sh should also be executable.

- support for /dev/fd devices greater than 3 should be installed.

Thanks for your reply and for reminding me to enter my system info.

gentoo linux
SBS 7.4.1 - r28947
Installed PlayReal by adding
http://bpaplugins.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/repo.xml at the bottom of the

No RealAudio stream works. I tried maybe five.
I've waited up to about one minute or two.
I checked with 'ps ax | grep mplayer' to see if mplayer had started but
it was never running.
I tested mplayer on the CLI as mentioned in my first post, and it

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Inguz for 1 Squeezebox only?

2010-01-24 Thread joeriz

Quick question -

Once Inguz is installed does this disable REW/FF for all devices
(Squeezeboxes, Transporters, etc.) that run using that instance of
SqueezeCenter? I assume that the answer is 'yes' but wanted to check.
I'd like to use it on the Squeezebox in my bedroom but would prefer to
retain the REW/FF functionality on the rest of my devices.

Thanks,

I was contemplating making a new plugin to do MusicIP mixes in DynamicPlaylist.
 i.e. ask cparker if he wouldn't mind me taking a copy of parts of his code
into a new plugin, and then extending it.

There are some enhancements I'd like to make to the DynamicPlaylist
functionality, but don't want to inadvertently break SugarCube functionality,
which I don't use much.

I'd like to define what to use as a seed, from some simple options/priorities,
such as "use currently selected item" (when using the mixer context menu on a
player, either an artist, album, song or genre), "use currently playing track",
or "use last played track", or "use random song from playlist ".

Be able to configure different dynamic playlists, eg. pass filter params into
it. So I could quickly play "Not rated tracks" filter, or "favorite tracks".

Could you file a ticket?
However, I have no idea, yet, how this could be done without having it
too confusing for other users. Not finding players between servers
(local and MySB) is the number 1 issue with iPeng, right now.
https://trac.penguinlovesmusic.de/trac/ipengnat/

A workaround could be to move the other players to MySB and then tap on
"Music Services" in iPeng to hide additional servers.

1. I think the App has to be changed for that on MySB. you should file
an enhancement request:
bugs.slimdevices.com

2. That's a known issue and will be fixed in the next release (it is
already fixed in 7.5 beta/www.test.mysqueezebox.com). Although I just
found that there is still a bug that won't let you REMOVE the playlist
afterwards...

3. Another known issue, SP based players obviously disable this option,
I don't know whether there's a bug for this.

Normally you don't unzip the par file as part of installation. If you
want to replace the existing Plugin.pm file with the modified one you
downloaded, I recommend unzipping the .par file (preserving the
directory structure), replacing the Plugin.pm file in the correct place
(lib/Plugins/SuperDateTime/Plugin.pm), and then re-zipping the .par
file, again preserving the directory structure. Finally, restart SBS.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] I've made an OSX installer for Inguz...

2010-01-24 Thread sugarmonster

I don't know what to suggest, what you're describing is just... odd!
Permissions shouldn't be a problem because the installer asks for your
administrative password so that it can copy the files to an otherwise
restricted location.

I'm also not sure why the files aren't going to the right place in your
prefpane - it almost sounds like your SBS isn't where the installer
expects to find it.

Lastly, even missing InguzDSP files shouldn't break the file type
setting as that's all down to the plugin. If the InguzDSP files were not
in the right place I'd just expect no sound.

I've sent you a PM with my email - it sounds like we need to continue
this offline!

Re: Announce: Spicefly SugarCube Version 2.03 (Automatic MusicIP DJ) for 7.x

2010-01-24 Thread mr_hyde

Hi,

as more or less written above, i use SugarCube actually without
Dynamicplaylist integration. Nevertheless, sometimes i want to hear a
dynamic playlist without Sugarcube. The 'problem' was that i had to
deactivate Sugarcube before that, since Sugarcube added the next tracks
instead of the DynamicPlaylistPlugin.

Therefore i changed the code of Sugarcube a little bit and it seems to
work. Base was the code of Phil.

Nevertheless, i gues, that now also the Dynamicplaylist integration of
sugarcube won't work anymore, but that could be improved

The advantage is, that i can leave SugarCube enabled while playing
DynamicPlaylists without disturbing each other

Code:

  # Now into the fun, we have checked that we should be active and done checks
for shuffle and various "noise".
  my $quicksong = Slim::Player::Playlist::url($client);.
  if ($quicksong =~ m/.pls/i || $quicksong=~ m/http:/i || $quicksong=~ m/.asx/i
|| $quicksong=~ m/rtmp:/i || $qu
  return;.
  }

  # -> i just added this to check if a Dynamicplalist is active or not
<
  my $playlist = undef;
  if(UNIVERSAL::can("Plugins::DynamicPlayList::Plugin","getCurrentPlayList")) {
  no strict 'refs';
  $playlist = eval {

  if ($@) {
  $log->error("Error calling DynamicPlaylist plugin: $...@\n");
  }
  use strict 'refs';
  }
  $log->debug("Playlist: $playlist\n");

  if (! $playlist == "" ){
  return;}
  # If there is a playlist avail from DynamicPlaylists, Sugarcube won't add a

Tried a full clean install of the latest SBS nightly - still no access
to the filetypes settings.

The problem seems to be that the Inguz DSP files are not making it into
the Bin/Darwin folder. As I said, this seems have been an issue since I
jumped to OS 10.5. Some global setting must have been set in my system
that restricts access to writing there - even with muski's commands. My
knowledge of the nuts and bolts of Mac OS (and the command line stuff in
particular) is virtually nil - so I'm probably not a very good resource
as to why the permissions exist. I'll try to the Inguz DSP them in
there manually (again).

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Help for ipeng installation

2010-01-24 Thread Airlia

I just downloaded ipeng for my iphone 3g and when I opened the app it
started loading. Now I have about 23000 songs in my library, how long
should this take to load? It's been loading now for over an hour. Is
this normal?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2010-01-24 Thread moochman

I am in the process in installing a whole house sound system in a 9,000
sq foot home. I am installing multiple zones using several Squeezebox
players. My customer has purchased iPeng for the 3 ipods they own and
everything is working great. The question I have is, can any of the
squeezebox players be hidden from view to make things less confusing at
times ? Example we have a player in their gym and one in their Master
Bedroom and we have 3 additional players in other areas of the house.
When they entertain it would be easier only to see the those 3
additional players because the Gym and MB will never be used for a
party. But at other times they would want to bring them back into view
to control them. Can this be done ?

Thanks for a great product !!

Sunnysekot, I wonder if you've tried spiceyweather instead? It works
fine for me in 7.3.x, as I mentioned in post 89 here.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Can't play .ra streams with PlayReal plug-in

2010-01-24 Thread bpa

The URL works OK for me on my Ubuntu 9.04 system using SBS 7.5

Definitely uninstall AlienBBC - it shouldn't cause problem as only one
will work but I cannot determine which one will take precedence as both
try to play the same media type.

To help solve problem you need to give information about your setup
such as

- OS
- SBS / SC version
- What sort of player ?
- How did you install PlayReal
- Do any other RealAudio streams works for you ?
- Did you wait long enough - the streams takes at least 20 secs to
start playing due to its slow speed and default buffering of mplayer.

plugins/PlayReal/html/images/RealAudio.png

However it looks like it's caching and playing the same stream on the
cli by using the following line.
Code:

$ mplayer rtsp://helix.beotel.net/encoder/rbgd1.ra

Also, I find it a little odd that, in the server settings, all
filetypes next to RTSP are greyed out. Should it be like that?

What else could I do to troubleshoot this?

Before I discovered PlayReal I tried to use the AlienBBC plugin without
success. I disabled it, but could some remnant of it be interfering?

I really love SuperDateTime but wont change to SC 7.4 or 7.5.
It would be great, if Greg or any other advanced user might provide a

Best solution would be an update on Gregs page and here, for I believe

desperately looking for a solution without switching to 7.4.x or 7.5.

Please help!

Hi,
if you look in the last column in httpprotocol, you can see the version
of mip, where this feature was implemented. 1.8 is the highest value.

I am sure, that these files are valid for the latest stable release of
MIP which was 1.8. 1.9 has more features in the headless server, such as
archiving the tags and the use of recipes. In 1.8 you can only look
through headless mode, what recipes are available. Sadly, that 1.9 was
only available for windows :-(

There are still some blogs, where some additional features of 1.9 were
discussed. When i find them, i will post the links.
