Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Understanding MusicIP moods and recipes
I spent a fair bit of the weekend playing around with this on a Linux headless build (Fedora 10). As far as I'm aware, recipes have only ever worked on the Windows MIP implementation in Squeezecenter using the GUI and I couldn't get these to transfer across to Linux even by copying the default.m3lib file etc. Would be interested to hear if anyone else has managed it. Moods I did get to work - my first successful technique was by copying across the default.m3lib from the Linux box to a Windows box (where MIP is set up not to scan or monitor folders) and replacing the existing default.m3lib, making the mood using the GUI and then copying both the amended Linux default.m3lib and the mood.m3u file back to the Linux box. However, I've found a slightly simpler process to get moods working under Linux headless as follows. Disclaimer (for anyone else who wants to try this), you will need to be comfortable moving stuff around on the Linux system - it is a good idea to do this in a user name other than root if you can to minimise the risk of something going wrong: 1. In Squeezecenter, create a playlist containing the songs that you want to use to create your mood. It's best to do this in Squeezecenter so you can be sure the path names are correct, but you could use a different playlist editor so long as MusicIP and Squeezecenter can follow the paths to the music). Name it and save it in your playlist directory (e.g. Happy.m3u). 2. Work out where the MIP default.m3lib is stored on your Linux system. I used find -name default.m3lib from the command line (in the top level root folder) to find it. There is a moods directory created when you install MusicIP in the installation directory, but storing the mood in that folder doesn't work (at least on my system). 3 Navigate to the folder where your default.m3lib file is stored. In my system it's in a hidden folder: /root/.MusicMixer/default.m3lib. 4. In that folder create a folder called moods. The lower case name is important - Moods doesn't work. 5. Move the .m3u file from your playlist directory to the new moods folder you created (in the example above /root/.MusicMagic/moods/Happy.m3u. 6. Reboot your system. Stopping and starting the squeezebox server alone doesn't work (at least for me) I needed to restart both MIP and SBS. Under Music Library you should see a new option MusicIP Mood Mix and under that Happy. Clicking Happy will give you a mix based on all of the songs in the playlist. Hope this helps. -- Siduhe Who am I on 'LAST.FM' (http://www.last.fm/user/siduhe)? -Siduhe Loved Tracks radio got the thumbs up. Greyed out means that SqueezeCenter reports that the volume can't be changed on a player (digitalVolumeControl=0). Usually this happens when you have Settings-Player Settings-your player-Audio-Volume Control set to Output level fixed at 100%. If that's not the case it may be a leftover setting from the VolumeLock plugin (don't know that) so you might have to get rid of that setting in the server - how ever you can do that, you might have to re-install the plugin to be able to do this. -- pippin --- see iPeng, the Squeezebox iPhone remote, at penguinlovesmusic.com pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Hi, filters in the headless working quite well. Filters are implemented inside the m3lib file. On my setup (QNAP NAS), i have only the possibility to run the headless version, where filters can not be created. I installed MIP on a windows PC, scan may library and create the filters with the gui under windows. Then you can copy the m3lib file to the linux system and you have to refresh and rescan the library. Then you have also the filters within MIP. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] MusicIP Integration--At A Loss
Wirrunna, everything behaves how you describe right up until the http://127.0.0.1:10002/api/songs?extended part. After starting the service, it is greyed out, show services displays http://localhost:10002/ just fine. I can click on API and Duplicates as well. What's odd is http://localhost:10002/api/duplicates takes about 20 minutes to return results, but it works fine. http://127.0.0.1:10002/api/songs?extended (or http://localhost:10002/api/songs?extended) fails after 10-15 seconds max. This makes me think it's not failing due to a large library, but because of something else. As far as the drive letters go: On the first pc with the scsi attached array, the two volumes in question are locally E:\ and F:\. The second computer I just recently tried, does not have the scsi array directly attached to it. I mapped the two volumes as Blue (Z) and Blue 2 (X). I also tried using the UNC path as well--I got the same result in both places. What is the purpose of http://127.0.0.1:10002/api/songs?extended?? What is that supposed to return? How is it possible that MiP integration works great on a single 2tb volume, but this link never works for me? I'm fairly convinced at this point that I have to be the root cause off this issue. I've tried two different computers with two different versions of MiP (both GUI and headless) and several different versions of SBS with both local, mapped and UNC paths. I'm getting the exact same result each time: Everything works great with any configuration as long as SBS does not have to use shortcuts for it's music library. -- Ultraviolet Ultraviolet's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16516 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=75108 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Hi epoch1970 I misread the SC version number you are using. IR-Blaster v5.6 is not compatible with SC 7.3.x as it uses a function that isn't available before SC 7.4. Unfortunately I did not pay attention when I posted v5.6 and did not modify the minimal server requirements in the install.xml / repo.xml files. Sorry about that. The minimal SC requirement is now fixed in v5.6.1 so it should not show up as available update in your SC 7.3.x installation. Thank you very much for pointing that out. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
Hi Pippin, The resampling trick did work, the big album art in the Now Playing resume normal, however, the small album art when browse in Album still not good. Do you know where to control the resolution of this small album art? Just wonder why the same music library, same iPeng, same SB3, same SqueezeCentre but running in Windows has no such problem. -- Bryan Jan Regards, Bryan SB3+EMM Labs DAC2 Bryan Jan's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17394 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
