Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] CustomBrowse customized menus issues

2010-07-24 Thread RonHatl

I know, and there ARE artistnames starting with _. In the custom browse
menu I have ALSO enabled the standard menu called Artists. If I click
this one in 'Manage menus' I don't get the XML editor but a settings
page which means that it is not customized but predefined. This Artists
menu item works perfectly fine and proves (by browsing to e.g. _Agnar
Mykle) that I DO HAVE artists names in the database that starts with an
underscore. Just like I had before when the menu item above worked
perfectly fine.

But on the custom browse 'Settings' page I find something strange...
Under 'Properties to use in queries and menus' I find the property
libraryDir with the value C:\Users\Ronny\Music. This is NOT THE PATH to
my music library. But changing this doesn't help.

You mention possible differences in scanner settings. Do you have any
specific scanner settings in mind?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Beta version of SvrPowerControl

2010-07-24 Thread danco

Look through the thread to find the answer.

There are a couple of free programs, Caffeine and Jiggler, that stop a
Mac from sleeping when activated.

You can write a shell script to run either of these, and set up
SvrPowerControl to run the script when the SB is not idle.

It's your choice which of the two you prefer to use. For more details
search either on the words Caffeine or Jiggler or for posts by me.

I just wanted to let you know that the CustomTag scan actually took
some 36 hrs on the new PC (while only 2 hrs on the old PC):

Code:

Performing module rescan

  [10-07-24 00:38:26.8665] Plugins::CustomScan::Scanner::exitScan (1009) Rescan
finished of Plugins::CustomScan::Modules::CustomTag

Let me know if you have an interest in the complete log.

PS. I use Microsoft Security on the new PC and Avast on the old PC.
Just to exclude any AV software problem on the new PC I excluded the
processes SqueezeSvr.exe and Mysqld.exe in Microsoft Security, but as
far as I can tell that did not speed things up.

file:///C:/Users/Ronny/Music to file:///C:/000_Musikk the setting is

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Beta version of SvrPowerControl

2010-07-24 Thread gharris999

Yes, the beta version of SrvrPowerCtrl will do what you want it to.
Make sure it's the latest beta version (from last January, I think)
that you have installed.

But getting this to work is going to require some extra effort on your
part. SrvrPowerCtrl is really all about putting the server to sleep,
not keeping it awake.

So, exactly as Danco suggests above, do this: Search this thread for
'caffeine' and read up on that Mac utility. Download caffeine and
install it (google search for 'caffeine OSX'). Then you'll need to
write a script to invoke caffeine. There should be an example script
of Danco's in the thread here somewhere. Then, you may need to modify
your /etc/sudoers file so that caffeine can be run by the user account
that Squeezebox Server is running under. Finally, configure
SrvrPowerCtrl so that the 'not-idle' action calls your caffeine
invocation script.

I think that's it, in a nutshell.

I've been intending, for the past 9 months or so, to redo my
'ReallyPreventStandby' plugin so that it supports OSX and linux for
exactly this sort of stuff and then rip out the 'not-idle' support in
SrvrPowerCtrl. That probably won't happen until December, though.

The menu you posted earlier was restricted so it only listed artists
with the role "BAND", basically those in the "BAND" tag of the music
files.

Maybe the information is scanned differently into the database so these
artists appear with the role ARTIST or ALBUMARTIST instead of BAND ?

If you are using MP3 I think there is an option in SBS Settings/My
Music called "Treat TPE2 MP3 tag as Album Artist" that might have this
effect.

Could that be the problem ?

The libraryDir is only used in the "Library" menu template which I
don't think people use anymore, so you can probably ignore this. It's
definitely not related to the bands menu you now have problem with.

If other things are slower the problem is probably not related to

It is just CustomScan scanning. The standard scanner is considerably
faster on the new PC. The scan for new files the night before last
night took 24 minutes on the old PC and only 11 minutes on the new PC.

Which Synology NAS - it only works on NASs using intel processors due
to the limitations of the libraries available from Spotify.

If I were a better coder there I would've commented the changes I will
attach the LUA of my skin (it's just a modified version of the WQVGA
for 1024x600 resolution) and the modifed files for Album flow and the
custom clock. My memory says that it was more the cover size and
fooling the program to use the touch layout instead of the controller
layout for each of them. I didn't have the custom clock applet all
done. I was thinking there was something in there where I had to set
the reolution too because the Album flow was still showing in the
480x272 space... I really should have done a better job with
commenting. I was doing a lot of "try this" and I didn't go back and
comment when I found somethign that worked.

It should run on a standard laptop. It seems to go full screen no
matter what your resolution is but if it's not native monitor
resolution it's not as clear

So for Linux based NASs there is no way to detect the architecture in
advance and disable the plugin. Hence several people have installed
but then found it does not work. I may look to putting an error
message on the settings page saying it only works on intel based
architectures.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] SQL Playlist problem with Unicode Custom Tag

2010-07-24 Thread Stan Pulsar

Hi there,

I've noticed a little problem when using a "Random for custom tag"
based sql playlist :

accents in PlaylistParameter won't work, therefore the
customscan_track_attributes.value in the JOIN clause is not correct

e.g. é becomes é

So the given playlist won't work with such values (it works with 'pure
ascii' values)

(I've checked a 'debug' log)

For further information :
- All Plugins are up to date
- CustomBrowse works well with all values
- I modified playlist.sql.xml and "hardcoded" the value (containing é)
in JOIN instead of asking for it, and of course it works well.
It's really the retrieving the value of PlaylistParameter that fails.

Is there something I could/shall do, or is it a bug ?

PS : I don't think it's related in any way, but when I checked the log,
I noticed this, so I thought I'd report :

Code:

Slim::Schema::Storage::throw_exception (82) Error: DBI Exception:
DBD::mysql::st bind_columns failed: bind_columns called with 3 values but 2 are
needed [for Statement "select
customscan_track_attributes.value,customscan_track_attributes.value from

customscan_track_attributes.value order by customscan_track_attributes.value"]

Works great for me. In Spotify I have both local files and
"spotify-files" stared, and when using your incredible great plugin
only the "spotify-files" (which is exptected since your plugin can't
know of my local files) get listed and plays. I love it since I use

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] CustomBrowse customized menus issues

2010-07-24 Thread RonHatl

Thank you so much, Erland!!! Works like a charm now! :-)

One last question: In SbS 7.5.1 Settings/Interface there's an option to
have Year displayed in parenthesises behind Album when browsing...

Is such a way of displaying year behind album name in any way possible
using customized CustomBrowse menus like e.g. the one I pasted in
above?

Yes, try changing:

Code:

  select albums.id,albums.title

To:

Code:

  select albums.id,if(albums.year=0,' ',concat('(',albums.year,')'))

And also changing:

Code:

  album

To:

Code:

  albumconcat

The first change will make the SQL only return " " or "(1992)" the
second change will make it append the album title in front of the value
returned by the SQL.

You might possibly also want to change the "order by" directive to
primarily order the albums by year and secondary by title and disc
number.

Code:

  order by albums.year desc,albums.titlesort asc,albums.disc asc

This really is great. I installed it this afternoon and am all up and

One thing - is it possible to add the radio stream functionality?

Thanks a lot!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2010-07-24 Thread Ikabob

I think this might be an Ipeng issue.
When I listening to a Slacker custom radio station and I save it to a
"favorite" status list the selection is saved but an existing station
in the "favorite" list is bumped off. So,I have a limited number of
stations that can be saved as a favorite . I have contacted Slacker and
they say that they cannot duplicate this. It does not happen when I am
using my pc as a controller. That is why I think it might be an ipeng
issue. Any answers to this? Thank you.

What you describe is probably not an iPeng issue since I see the exact
same thing when using my Controller so you should probably file a bug
at bugs.slimdevices.com

However, I also can't reproduce this in iPeng since in iPeng I somehow
seem to be unable to save a favorite AT ALL? iPeng as well as the
controller SAY that the favorite was saved but it doesn't happen. I
will look into this.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] SQL Playlist issue with v2.5.3224

2010-07-24 Thread Stan Pulsar

Since I had the problem reported in 'this post'
(http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=80657), I upgraded to
the latest versions of all Erland's plugins (the ones I'm using)

Now I have a problem : if I fiddle a bit with custom SQL code in
playlists, I can't validate ("save") anymore lists, even non-modified
ones !

The error shown in red below the code box is : Not unique table/alias:
'tracks'

(that is, if I choose a simple template, like "Random for rating", and
select "custom SQL", then save immediately in the next window, I get
the error)

Same if I open ("edit") a custom one created earlier and try to save it
again without any modifications.
The playlist is still working, though.

My SBS version is 7.4.0
I'll try an upgrade, but is it the solution ?
Shall I downgrade the plugins ?
Is it a known issue ?

Thanks a lot !

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] SQL Playlist issue with v2.5.3224

2010-07-24 Thread Stan Pulsar

I upgraded SBS, same problem.

Actually, after a fresh start of SBS, everything goes fine until I try
to launch this playlist :

Code:

-- PlaylistName:test carac multiple
  -- PlaylistGroups:_Perso
  -- PlaylistParameter1:list:Select rating:20:* (10-29),40:** (30-49),60:***
(50-69),80: (70-89),100:* (90-100)
  -- PlaylistStartAction1:cli:customskip setsecondaryfilter
advancedrandom.cs.xml
  -- PlaylistStopAction1:cli:customskip clearsecondaryfilter
  select tracks.url from tracks
join track_statistics on
tracks.url=track_statistics.url
join customscan_track_attributes
tracks.id=customscan_track_attributes.track and
customscan_track_attributes.module='customtag' and
customscan_track_attributes.attr='SPEED'
left join dynamicplaylist_history on
tracks.id=dynamicplaylist_history.id and
dynamicplaylist_history.client='PlaylistPlayer'
where
audio=1
and dynamicplaylist_history.id is null
and track_statistics.rating>=('PlaylistParameter1'-10)
and customscan_track_attributes.value in ('lent')
group by tracks.id
order by rand()
limit 50;

I get this error in the log :

The only time I have seen such a message myself (on a self made NAS
with a regular linux distro) was when I forgot to install the flac/ogg
libraries. I assume spotifyd could not be started then (unmet library
dependency) and the regular squeezecenter log would print such a
message.

A simple test would be to log in and do a "ldd spotifyd"
(in
/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/Spotify/Bin/)
to verify that all required libraries are available.

The SQL is invalid, instead of:

Code:

  join customscan_track_attributes

You should have:

Code:

  join customscan_track_attributes on

Was this SQL generated from one of the templates so the template also
might be incorrect ? Or did you modify this part yourself ?

It's a bug in SQL Playlist or Dynamic Playlist, it seems like they
don't handle non ascii characters in custom tags correctly when
specified as parameters.
