Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2010-12-16 Thread pippin

Hm. Will check again but I have iPeng permanently running on various
devices now and the battery is stable.
Did you restart it after setting the "keep connection" setting was on?
Does it not happen when iPeng is in the background?

Have you tried restarting SBS and/or the Radio ?

I think I've seen something similar in my own setup when I restart SBS.
I'm not sure if it happens when the Radio is connected when I restart or
if it is when it's disconnected.

I can confirm that having notifications turned off has no effect. The
battery drains rapidly if iPeng is left running in the foreground. I am
99.99% sure this is iPeng related, as it only happens when iPeng is
running. It may be indirectly related to a change in iOS 4.2.1, but if
iPeng is killed, the battery drain does not occur (for me).

Please see BBC HD thread - for the moment I've added a "Radio 3 HD"

[SlimDevices: Plugins] SoftSqueeze or SqueezeSlave for PalmOS?

2010-12-16 Thread MartynHill

Hi

I'm wanting to find out if there is any known support for running
something akin to SoftSqueeze or SqueezeSlave on a Palm TX (running
PalmOS).

I know that I can easily stream MP3 from my SqueezeCentre repository (I
have no Squeeze* hardware at all) through the pTunes player installed on
my PDA, but the lag in music playing is a bit tedious and the connection
drops periodically, resulting in having to restart the app and the
playlist to get going again.

Any ideas?

Martyn,
London.

Yes currently it looks that the normal stream is still 192k, but the
metadata the BBC is producing says it is 128k - which is what the
plugin uses to show the bitrate. I will raise this with them..

I guess the automatic install/uninstall from the server will be broken
if something causes the server a problem to load. I was hoping you
could find out what was causing the problem - did you try to run
./spotify with the account of the server when the server service was
stopped?

I run on ubuntu all the time, so there is something special about your
machine rather than this being a distro specific issue.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Erlands Plugins: Playlist Generator/Trackstat - Missing or limited tracks?

2010-12-16 Thread socistep

Hi There

I use trackstat for rating music and then creating playlists from that,
I wanted to have a way of transferring the ratings from Squeezebox to
Banshee on linux which I use to manage my ipod classic.

What I did was to use Erlands playlist generator with custom scan to
nightly produce a 'Top Rated' m3u playlist, I then wrote a very basic
shell script to replace 'flac' with 'mp3' and then when I go into
Banshee I load up the latest version of 'Top Rated' tracks, this then
transfers as a playlist onto my ipod.

Works well, however I went to do an update last night, previously there
was 485 songs in the top rated playlist and I expected this to jump up
to a couple of hundred more as I'd rated a few songs, however it stayed
around the same number.

I went back to playlist generator and checked settings and it seemed to
me that it wasn't pulling all the top rated tracks into the playlist so
rather then adding to the total it seemed to pull back a list of just
less then 500 tracks.

I then did a database query and noticed that the following were in
trackstat

Number of 4 star rated songs;601
Number of 5 star rated songs;90

- Am I doing something wrong settings wise in generating this
playlist?
- Is there a restriction on playlist generation via these plugins
similar to the SBS restriction of 500 tracks?

Any help appreciated!

thanks
Ian

in Windows run "telnet yournas 9090", where you replace "yournas" with
your server's address. In the black, empty window you get, type "pref
use_sn_test 1" and press enter. Then shut down and restart your SBS.

Additionally you'll have to create/check your mysb.com account on

The Spotify plugin is installed using the WebUI http://[your server
IP]:9000 --> Settings (lower right) -> Plugins tab, -> [X] Show all 3rd
party plugins. Now the Spotify plugin should be available. Select it and
click Apply. After it's installed, you need to enter your Spotify
Premium account details in the plugin settings.

After this, it is found on the Controller under Internet Radio.

About setting up your player, read the Beginners and Duet forums, (this
thread is not the general beginners' support thread;). If still no luck,
ask . Remember to provide information about your setup, primarily
operating system and network layout. You will receive very friendly and
helpful advice then.
